  • This is the perfect vegetarian dish to serve with dhal and rice. If you didn't want this to be a vegetarian dish then you could add in some shrimp or saltfish or even dried fish. You can also serve it alongside any meat/veggie curries, or even by itself with some rice or roti. The possibilities are endless guys. I hope you enjoy.

    This technique for cooking okra is new to me Matthew. I'm a big fan of okra, so this one really floats my boat! Shared.

    One of my favourite dishes! You’re left handed also? 🤗 also I tend to stir my ochro a lot, because it tends to stick to the bottom of my pan, but I will have to try this method.

    • @matthewsguyanesecooking4601
      @matthewsguyanesecooking4601  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I am left handed. It is best to use a nonstick pan for ochro, but mine wasnt big enough for the amount I made. You just have to make sure and use enough oil and regulate the heat. I hope you enjoy. Let me know how it comes out.

    Can you freeze okra? Then cook it when ready?

    • @matthewsguyanesecooking4601
      @matthewsguyanesecooking4601  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep. Just slice it up allow it to dry a little after it was cut and them freeze

      @@matthewsguyanesecooking4601 thank you!!! How would you go about cooking it? Cook it frozen? Thaw?

    • @matthewsguyanesecooking4601
      @matthewsguyanesecooking4601  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rinar9601 You can cook it frozen. But make sure to cook it in a big pan on a moderate heat. Because if it doesnt have enough space to breathe the okra will get very slimy. Also dont mix it too much.
