      I can't say much about the others but I can vouch for tofu. It doesn't cost much more than the other ones, it's fully biodegradable, and they can be ordered from most online retailers of pet supplies. Some of them are even scented with green tea so they smell nice. I hope this helps.

      Yes!! I came her to comment the same thing! Toxoplasmosis Gondii is a very serious parasite and it kills thousands of sea otters every year. 18% of California sea otter deaths are attributed to t. gondii exposure - exposure that happens when “treated” grey waste water goes into our oceans. And that’s directly because cat guardians flush their litter.

    • @dawnchesbro4189
      @dawnchesbro4189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@redricket we don’t carry toxoplasmosis gondii, cats are the only known carriers of these parasites. Doesn’t kill the cats because it’s intended “prey” are rodents and birds. T.gondii kills those animals so the cat will come and eat the prey. This is why pregnant women are told not to scoop cat litter, because this parasite can blind and cause serious brain damage to developing fetuses. When these parasites enter waste water, they can’t be eradicated; which means these parasites make it into our oceans. Marine mammals don’t have any sort of immunity against t. gondii, so it kills sea otters and has been known to blind dolphins. Overall, it’s (t.gondii) incredibly dangerous and should never be flushed.

    However, I would like to point out that some test methods are wrong especially clay related parts.
    After the cats go to the toilet, it covers the cat litter and waits for a while. Then, you can do the clumping test. Otherwise of course you can conlude as "not clumping"

    You flipped that walnut after it sat there for a little longer in the group shot, and it let out no water followed by a cross. I know youre trying to sell a product, but you also added more water to it than the other products

    • @jester116
      @jester116 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @dawnchesbro4189
      @dawnchesbro4189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      @@jester116 that’s not true. Each pour was 5 seconds from when they started pouring in the above shot then transitioned to the side shot. They each finished pouring in 5 seconds. The reason they look like they have more water is because the litters weren’t being absorbed as quickly, especially on the walnut. So the water sits on top of the litter making it seem like there’s more water. I’ve used a tofu cat litter for over 3 years now and I absolutely love it over any other kind of litter - and I’ve tried a lot of litter! It absorbs quickly, isn’t dusty, doesn’t stick to the bottom of the litter box, and keeps odors down.

My speculation with this litter is how long lasts. The hype of this project did not match the hype/marketing. I told my friends about this litter, and we were in agreement this was going to solve the litter ingestion thing. Well, this litter also stuck to their cats paws and back upper legs. My cat gets iTI, it is so scary, and I keep trying new litters, why is it so hard to make the blend of litter better than clay. The best I have found is crystal litter, and I had high hope for walnut, paper compressed.
      No offense really to tofu, the latest wonder cat litter medium. I had higher hope. I have three litter boxes, two adult female cats, and one with chronic UTI, and impacted anal glands.
      So, give it s try, maybe it will work for you best. My result was more 50% lose 50% okay. In a two cat house with one sensitive cat to litter anyone go through this, anything that worked well for you? My UTI cat is 11, my other cat is 13. I try so hard on the litter issue, and bless for these cats of mine to also keep trying. .
      I feed them Ian's urinary tract health, and try to have wheat grass down for them to graze, a water fountain, and two bowls of water. Perhaps it is just genetics with my one cat, I don't have parental history as they were younger shelter cats.

      @dawnchesbro4189 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@rizkimen2069 short answer: it kills and blinds marine mammals.
      Long(ish) answer: a majority of cats are carriers of toxoplasmosis gondii (t. gondii). Doesn’t hurt the cats, but is dangerous to pre-natal infants and marine mammals, blinding them and sometimes killing them. Modern sewage treatment can’t kill t. gondii, so the larva can survive in treated waste water as it’s eventually pumped into streams and oceans. There the parasite infects marine mammals, who didnt have evolutionary contact with the parasite and therefore don’t have immunity (I’m greatly simplifying this, btw). T.gondii is known to kill 17% of California sea otters and has been the cause of blindness in dolphins (more research is needed on this, but it’s not a sexy subject).
      So the take-away is that flushing cat litter - even just the urine - has the possibility of containing this parasite and directly kills marine mammals.
