    great video!! i also recently switched to tofu cat litter and it’s a game changer!!!! no more little bags to dispose their waste in, just have to flush it down the toilet plus there’s little to no scatter anymore which saves me the trouble of having to clean up after every time my cat goes

    So glad to get this info about the tofu litter. I watched the tracking video and am looking for something more natural than clay/clumping/regular litter that is bio degradable and better for the planet. I have asthma and litter dust is a real struggle for us folks so looking for help with that, too!

    I’m a believer, it is the best thing in the world! Definitely will be switching brands to this one too because what I currently use, which is Wee Kitty, is not easily available. Thank goodness there’s this one, because I have been searching for a perfect alternative (possibly a better one). Nice to see everyone’s feedback

    I just got a free bag of tofu cat litter when I ordered a new litter box. I've seen a couple of my friends using it with their cat and swear by it but never got around to trying it. Thanks for the video. Straight to the point and very informative. I just poured some into the new litter box that I put beside the old one and my cat didn't want to go in so I plopped a few pieces of their feces from the old box on the tofu litter like you suggested and my cat immediately went in for a pee! Great success! ♥

    Man I broke this rule and went full bore after two to three days, I did have one Tofu and the other Worlds Best Litter at first. I got the Tofu like in ur vid from Tuff+Paw, I have some reservations on it still on these reason’s:
    - The Smell of it after they use it (urine) starts to smell kinda of fishy smells, definitely not odor free litter.
    - The costs per LB is like $3, making it the most expensive.
    - Clumping is very good like + 5 Stars
    - Dust barley + 4.5 Stars
    - Tracking also very good at + 5 Stars
    - Sifting thru the scooper I guess depending on what type you have, but mine it takes abit of shaking it first.
    So hope this helps anybody who had OCD with Corn, Grass or Clay type litter, especially the clay type which would breakup in multiple piece’s.

    • @fauziahsaleh7490
      @fauziahsaleh7490 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right. Tofu/Soya cat litter definitely not odor free litter. Its much more ammonia smelly compared to bentonite litter. I switched from bentonite to Tofu because my cats are indoor. They have their own room, so i wont take a risk anymore for them to inhale dust from silica and bentonite. Problem is ammonia smell is so strong for Tofu/Soya litter. Need to clean it up twice a day. But will not change it to another type of litter anymore. Because clumping is so so good 5++ stars. Low dust, and less tracking. 👍

    I loooove the Pidan tofu litter. The only thing that I dislike is over time the tofu pelettes will crumble into a fine layer of dust at the bottom of the litter box. I don't like to waste the litter bc it is expensive so you have to get creative to get rid of the dust while keeping all the usable litter at the same time lol. Well worth it tho.

    Very informative video. I haven’t owned a cat in 40 years. But recently adopted a stray. So today has been dedicated to learning about litter boxes.😄. Can the clay litter be flushed into septic tanks? I guess the question is, will it mess up a septic tank?

  • @rabies7290

    With my first cat 5 years ago, I went with walnut litter, but didn't found that it clumped well, so I tried grass litter, which clumped better, but it tracked really badly. I wound up using a 50/50 mix which has been okay. My second cat has some allergies, but it's been hard to isolate what is contributing to them. Even though he is on a hydrolyzed protein diet, I wondered about the grass litter, because he also seems to flare up in the summer when he's outside in the yard a lot (enclosed yard--he's safe there). Because of that, I've been trying corn litter, silicone litter...and I'm wondering if tofu would be hypoallergenic.

    I have a question. Does tofu cat litter attract phorid flies? I am currently having a problem with this. I'm currently using tidy cat litter.

  • @bettyboop1524
    @bettyboop1524 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    My biggest complaint with any so called natural litter is bugs, especially in the summer. Like most cat guardians I've tried so many different kinds of stuff and all have pros and cons. Currently using Garfield litter that is very small grain for the paws, but it does sure track. The other litter box is Fullers Earth and he readily uses that. I do like the pine pellets that I get at the local farm store, it is a bit hard so I'll spray lightly with water in the box to soften it up. Then of course there is the problem of finding what your cat has settled on and having to change it to what is available in your area.

    I have two senior cats we have been together for 12 and 15 years I noticed that their paws are very dirty now and they have lots of litter between their toes. Overall what litter do you recommend to make them more comfortable I can tell they are uncomfortable with their usual litter

    • @tuftandpaw
      @tuftandpaw  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the main issue is having cat litter stuck between their paws, you might want to look for one with a bit of a larger pellet shape. However, too large and it may become uncomfortable. We genuinely think that "Really Great Cat Litter" is a perfect balance because it's the shape of long, thin cylindrical pellets that won't get stuck between their paw pads, but are also small enough to still be comfortable to step on. Let us know if you give it a try!

  • @anyrfa3793

    Since the tofu cat litter is naturally produced and thus easily mold, is that the reason why most tofu cat litter came in vacumm pack?

    • @tuftandpaw
      @tuftandpaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question! The vacuum packed packaging is likely more to reduce breakage of the pellets in travel. The more the litter gets knocked around in the bag during transport, the more likely it'd be to get broken into smaller bits which would produce more dust and wouldn't be as good for tracking.

  • @noodletoast

    My kitten she sprint out after every business. Would it help if I use this litter? Or would the problem remain? 😅

    • @tuftandpaw
      @tuftandpaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you referring to litter tracking as the problem? If so, the combination of a low tracking litter PLUS a litter box with high sides might help. The high sides will help keep any litter that gets flung from her sprints IN the box instead of outside.

    • @tuftandpaw
      @tuftandpaw  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @fauziahsaleh7490
      @fauziahsaleh7490 ปีที่แล้ว

      Trust me its not odour free, odour control, whatsoever. Im using Tofu/Soya litter for my cats already 4 months (and will not change it to other type of litter anymore). Its good clumping 5++stars, low dust and less tracking. But......... the smells of ammonia from urine, its very strong compared with bentonite litter. Need to clean it up twice a day so its ok. You gotta try. Its good tho 👍. I wont risk my cats to inhale dust from silica and bentonite. I just need to clean it often for Soya/Tofu litter.

      Yes! However, some kittens may be a little too interested in it and start eating it. Our own brand (Really Great Cat Litter) contains all safe ingredients and would be OK to ingest in small amounts, but it's certainly not recommended to let cats eat it in large quantities or over a large period of time. You could totally try it out, but if you notice your kitten nibbling away then maybe wait until they are a bit older to give it another shot ☺️

    There is no way I'd ever flush cat litter of any kind down the toilet. My house is over 100 years old and the plumbing is also old with narrow pipes. I've had cats for many years and it never occurred to me to flush used litter down the toilet. I tried Garfield's cat litter and it made my cat smell weird, it's tofu and cassava (if I remember correctly). Corn litter often came with bugs in it. Crystal litter smells really bad - it was gross IMO. The best I have found is stall pine pellets from my local farm store, cheap, clean, no odor. So many choices now it's nuts.

For example, some brands just add perfume to cover the smell up, whereas our formula contains charcoal, which helps to naturally eliminate odor. We've even made some more tweaks since launching it based on customer feedback and we're happy to say that we've dramatically improved the odor control in a short time.

    Intriguing...I'm definitely interested but so much that claims to be flushable and isn't actually good for the plumbing system. I like the suggestion of looking for bigger pellets and the darker pellets with charcoal and no added coloring. The visual of how the pellets disintegrate in water makes me trust that it will flow properly. Thank you for the concerns with the susceptibility to mold if not stored in a cool dry place. #Contestfor100bucks @Tuft+Paw #PickMe😍
