    AYANEO is one of the big players in the handheld, and it can hold its own to others, including Valve's Steam Deck, but it does cost a bit more. The AYANEO Next line-up features higher-end specs like the AMD Ryzen 7 processor and basically a PC in handheld form, but it's up to you if you think it's worth it. Linus thinks it does.

    Anyone notice that during the "steam deck" comparison of "thinner and narrower" they zoom in at 1:59 and it's more footage of the OneXPlayer? You can see the orange button on the front, and that top is not the IO and layout of the Steam Deck.

    • @KyleDavis328

      Yup. Definitely not the Steam Deck. You can see the joystick placement is staggered like an Xbox controller too. On the Steam Deck they're both at the top. It looks like Linus may have actually grabbed a Steam Deck at 1:58, but then the close-up shots were wrong, because the top layout was the same as the previous device (OneX Player Mini). I have to blame the editor on this one.

    7:27 The navigation issue probably isn't a keyboard/mouse conflict but rather a gamepad/mouse conflict. In both Windows 10 and Windows 11, limited parts of the GUI can be controlled by a gamepad.
    Which is incredibly stupid because not enough of the GUI is gamepad-compatible for any of it to be of any use. Microsoft either needs to expand the functionality (including using the Home button to open the Start Menu and adding the Xbox One/Series soft keyboard) or take it out entirely.

    • @Gunks_
      @Gunks_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +176

      @@VioletViolent Disagree. This is what's "technically capable" if you want to spend the money. The Steam Deck is a much more realistic or "possible" option because it costs similar to what people traditionally pay for a handheld. Would you pay $1300 for a better Switch? What about $530? Valve attacked this market with a quality product, even if it is inferior to things like this, at a reasonable and realistic price point. I have never even considered one of these devices because I could get a gaming laptop for that price and it would be similarly useful. But the Steam Deck? The closest competitor is the Switch and that is not exactly a similar market.

Don’t even need to worry about Windows issues on my laptop, don’t need extra controllers. Makes me excited for the Deck and while the Aya handhelds seem good, SteamOS will be my preferred launcher for now as it’s super easy to launch my library and things just work for emulators on Linux for me.

Although it is a really nice device I just cant see them selling many as they have much competition anyway in this field and the Steam Deck is almost out . It's extremely hard to even be remotely interested in these handhelds when the steam deck is a thing. The deck starts at a third of the price, and absolutely shits on the entire competition in terms of
    performance. My one complaint: the steam deck looks like absolutely dogshit. But still, I'm buying one.

      mostly because the steam deck is sold at a loss, but they have the steam store to be where they get the profit from the people buying steam decks, while ayaneo doesnt have a "ayaneo launcher" (in the sense of the steam store)

      @@awesomestuff9715 You're forgetting economy of scale.

    • @awesomestuff9715

      @@RandomPlaceHolderName true, that's indeed another factor that i forgot about. the ayaneo definitely has way lower sales (and lower production units, which means it costs more to make each one) when compared to the steam deck. however, since the steam deck is still being sold at a loss, which means alot of sales at a loss increases linearly if nobody buys any of the games, so valve could potentially lose quite a bit of money from the steam deck
      (though that's highly unlikely since steam is somehow still basically the best launcher in terms of game library size and features and performance. it's honestly kinda sad that literally basically only the epic games launcher competes with steam, but even that is lacking in alot of features, and is so.... slow, even on mid-high end computers for some reason)

    Hoping they do a windows install on the steamdeck to get a bit more apples to apples comparison also since from what I've seen, no alt game launchers gog, Ubisoft, rockstar etc.

    Just curious, can you potentially run Steam OS on this. In my country you can't get deck from Valve, i guess same true for Aya, but i expect them having nearly same street price here.
