      We met a few people cycling the Dempster when we were there. Congrats on the trip, it would be amazing to take the slower journey to really take it in.

      Thanks, much appreciated. Had way too much material to work from. I think I got the footage down to 2.3gb from about 85. Gorgeous scenery.

    What a fantastic trip! I’ve gone on long road trips, but not up north. A trip of a lifetime. My longest trip was Winnipeg - Alabama - San Antonio TX, back to Winnipeg. 3 weeks on the bike and so relaxing. I didn’t want to return home.

      The north is a whole new animal. I love getting into places that are less visited.

      Your trip and mine were completely different animals. I didn’t grow up riding dirt bikes so loose gravel and sand are not my favourites. A friend of mine road the Alaska highway. He said the gravel was very sharp and wore down tires quickly.
      I did enjoy your videos. It just makes me want to hop on my bike and ride across country.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. I am in Montana and have decided that before I die I have to take my Dakar on this ride.
    Great video

    Awesome! I was supposed to do Vancouver to Dawson City summer 2020 but COVID had other plans. Now I've moved to Ontario so it will be a MUCH longer drive!

    Lol. That was definitely the thought. Scheduling was a big problem and the first year was spent getting ready for another trip we wanted to do first. But yes, I do think too much before jumping. Short window each season too, if you miss one summer you have to wait another 8 months to try again.

    Hi, very curious... why did you write F650GS Daker in the end and not Dakar? I saw Daker in my insurance as well that's why curious...

    How did the 650 do on long highway stretches? I assume this on is a single cylinder. I'm looking for an F650GS (Twin) but I'm concerned about highway miles. How fast can you comfortably run?

    • @danielleppington
      @danielleppington  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 650 single did ok as long as you weren't super cruising (70+ mph) even with the large monsoon bags hanging out like sails and the extra tires we had on the back. That being said, my 800 twin (really quite similar to the 650 twin) makes it look childish when it came to passing and cruising. If you need to go faster than the twin can comfortably and easily go fully loaded, then you better have a healthy reserve for tickets. 650 twin will do you very well for good highway fully loaded travel

    Great video, I have been to all those places on your trip, brings back memories, loved your commentary, but you are pronouncing Talhltan wrong, it should be pronounced (Tal Tan).

      Thanks for the tip, always up for a solid correction. Bit of a detail man myself.

    Lol. Never noticed that. Bad spelling on my behalf. I'll blame the hydromorphone. Cut this video in the week after facial surgery. Don't do drugs....
