  • I have done a lot of DIY tubeless conversions using Tesa 4289 tape and had varied results. These 2bliss strips are £5 per strip but saves a lot of hassle, allows for tyre to be removed with less chance of damaging the strip/tape.
On this my first attempt it has sealed up with the tubeless pump first go and no signs of any leaks.
I can't say how this compares to other specific tubeless kits on the market but vs the Tesa option I perfer the 2bliss.
I have done the gorilla tape method in the past but that stuff leaves a lot of mess behind when you remove it.
It's recommend to go up 2mm on your rim width. My rims are 29mm wide so I went for the 31mm strips.

Thanks for the video. I have the same rims, I’ll give it a try.

Mine are still going strong a year later with very little deflation over time. Thanks for your comment.

Im surprised these work as they are not stuck down and just rely on bekng tight. You'd think air/sealant would works it's way out the edges.

They do work very well as that wheel still has air in it, I have not pumped it up at all & that was 4 months ago now. I ended up using a 27.5" rear wheel in stead so that one in the video was pumped up and just left in the corner.
If you think about it, the air pressure once you pump up the tyre is going to be pushing the rim strip into the wheel, I think that helps keep a good seal, stops it moving and being able to roll up at the edges.

Those strips work well and do a great job if you're careful on the install. They don't last forever and the end of them for me has been the valve hole. Because the strips fit so tightly the hole will go slightly oval over time, despite the reinforcement. Once that happens, they're done/can't seal. That has been my experience. YMMV maybe a UST valve would help with this?

Some nice information there. How long or how many miles do you think you got out of yours before they failed?
Not sure if a different valve would actually stop them changing their desired shape. I was sent 27.5 strips by mistake and tried to stretch them with body strength to fit my 29 wheels (I was under the impression they were 29 strips) and I couldn't do much, I was standing on one end and pulling up the other end to stretch them but no real luck.

@@Chambers36TheEnter In defense of the 2bliss stips, I'd estimate their life in years rather than miles. I just removed one that must be 4-5 years old but the hole had ovaled and I just couldn't get a reliable seal. I'm a fan of the tech and wouldn't hesitate to use them. happy riding!

@@samj1185 Oh that's good to hear, I would have probably sold the wheels by then. Sounds very reasonable given their £5 price. Regards.

@@Chambers36TheEnter no doubt. If not lasting forever is the only criticism I can offer for a cheap item then I'd say they're a good product
