  • On August 26, 2021, thirteen service members gave their last full measure of devotion at Hamid Karzai International Airport.
    Today, we remember their service and sacrifices, which enabled the evacuation of nearly 130,000 people out of Afghanistan.

    I agree with most of the video and it's beautiful. As a former marine I write this.
    Something the Sgt Major said. These Marines didn't die for the constitution. They died to rescue Afghan civilians. The taliban was never effecting us and their has yet to be a attack in the states tied to the taliban.
    They died because we as Marines believe in helping people regardless if they are Americans or not and we are a breed that wanna help at the cost of our own lives.
    All that's fine, just don't make everyone sit here and listen to their sons aren't coming home because they were defending our freedom. That's bullshit

    • @jamannk
      @jamannk 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They died because their “leadership” failed them.
      They died because they followed orders NOT to engage with the bomber they literally could see preparing for the attack days in advance.
      They died because of the cowards that sit behind desks and rank and live fat fucking lives with zero accountability.
      Don’t fall for the empty propaganda.
      They were heroes, no doubt. But there is no justification or excuse for their deaths.

Seeing the aftermath was even more heartbreaking, as children will now be raised and even born without knowing one of their parents.
    Despite what the news tells us, we are blessed. Innocent people were able to come to America. The war never came to American soil. You can say anything you want about the government and not get reprimanded.
