    It does seem like a nice product for the money (and I like that green power button (tired of the red equivalents)) but the lack of any pretense of cooling the RAM and NVME along with no additional storage option seems to limit it too much, nice metal case notwithstanding.

    I put 64GB(2x 32) of RAM into the GMKtec K1(6800H). Massive thermal throttling. Performance dropped from 60 to 40 FPS after 10min. So it is important which ram you have. Mine is fully stacked with chips on the top and bottom side of the RAM PCB. This generates more heat than single sided RAM.

      Okay, unfortunately, I dont have more kits to test, but this was the same kit I used in the Minisforum UM773 and 690, which both throttled.

      Will crucial ones be good tho?
      Intend to get 32gb ram since the 5600mhz ones are selling for $120+🎉

      @@HuntaKiller91 I have Crucial 2x32GB 4800 MHz.
      For gaming I recommend to play with the cover off.

    Minisforum did messed up on the Venus series. I had to return the UM7735S due to DDR5 getting too hot and throttle down the game fps.

    Just started looking into this spec mini PC from GMKtek and your video came out literally 4 hours ago lol.. Good timing! So to be clear, If I order one of these will it come with 2 sticks of DDR5 or are they still shipping with only 1 in single channel?

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Should be dual, but ask beforehand to make sure. Might still have old stock

    They have a very big sale on at the moment (or maybe always?) the K2 with 32GB ddr5 and 1TB nvme is listed at $719, but on sale it is $499 ($220 off)

      I own this model and run valorant at 200+ frames consistent with no drops. Granted I play 1280x720, thing still rips for the pricepoint.

    Hey @robtech, a great review as usual. Any chance you can review the Nofflink M4?

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unlikely to review any last generation budget minis. Most of them can't compete against the new N95 or N100 CPU models.

    Your videos are great. I wonder if you could do one on the most upgradeable mini PC? The sheer variety of them is overwhelming. I'd like to be able to replace my office PC but would like plenty of storage. Are there good budget options that come with one NVME and can take two, or perhaps better (cheaper capacity) a 2.5 inch drive? Are there any that don't use SODIMMS or have spare slots? Mini is appealing but realistically if it's smaller than a lunchbox I'm pretty sure it'll fit on my desk :D

      I did a top 5 budget mini PC video here th-cam.com/video/3hJ0nhGdOkQ/w-d-xo.html
      Most support more than one drive. Only the Chuwi Larkbox X didn't in that list.

      @@Robtech cool - I find it hard to tell sometimes as the product pages often miss vital things like pictures of the inside :D I think the marketing people are very into graphic design, but not so much showing the actual ports and access and stuff.
      I watched that review so I've wishlisted everything but the Chuwi and will certainly consider them if/when I take the plunge. Thanks for the response :)

    I just bought one of these (barebones) and put in a set of crucial (16gbx2 4800mhz) ddr5 ram & 1tb ssd, but for some reason on startup there's no HDMI output, yet makes a noise. Any clues?

    Hi, do you think, this pc is good for video editing?

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If video editing is the goal, you'll need to look at an Intel mini PC. Something like this th-cam.com/video/1cUL47rGMiU/w-d-xo.html

      Yes you can add an adaptor from nvme and can support an external GPU, but you must use an external drive attach at the usb drive , saw in Spanish channel

    Thanks for your good review, like always. I've been waiting since 1 week for this review, because i was struggling between Beelink SER 6 Pro (7735HS) and the NucBox K2.
    On MinixPC i got the beelink (barebone) for 369$ with coupon code, almost the same price like gmk claims. Hopefully it was the right decision for Beelink and against Gmk.
    I want buy additionally the "be quiet! MC1 Pro, M.2 SSD-Kühler" for even better temps and lesser Fan Noise, thats what i am believing in :D
    Have you experience with additionally SSD Heatsinks in mini PC's and can recommend something?

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great price! The Beelink has an M.2 cooler, so you don't need one and there's no space to add anything.

    • @timjim2145
      @timjim2145 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Robtech Ok that's weird. beelink and minixpc support told me the be quiet m1 pro with a height from 1.3 centimeter is suitable. Gmk also told me a heatsink for ssd with 1 centimeter max height is possible. I am confused

    • @Robtech
      @Robtech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm assuming the Beelink SER 6 Pro is the same as the 6800H version I reviewed. You can check out my opening of the mini there. I guess you could remove the included SSD cooler if you wanted, but that's already doing the job (thermal pad plus fan).

    • @InvictraX
      @InvictraX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@timjim2145 yes there is room to place some cooling copper fins on the NVME. On my Samsung 980 PRO it is enough to place some little cooling on the controller. The two memory chips don't rly need any cooling as they run better at 60°C

    • @timjim2145
      @timjim2145 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Robtech Yeah i watched it, big thanks for your detailed reviews. I don't want remove the SSD cooler. I want remove the thermal pad, which is not included in barebones, what i've heard, and replace it with two thermal pads for the the bottom and the top of the SSD and then enclose it in the heatsink. At the and you can attach the SSD fan again.
      Maybe you can inform yourself about SSD Heatsink. Tspecially this which fit in PS5 and can show the result in a Video. Like i said for the GMK you can build in a SSD Heatsink with 9 millimeter max height. SSD Heatsinks with thermal pads included costs only 8$ and the GMK K2 is a good candidate for upgrading and showing the results in temperatures.
