Is the direct injection engine (especially the high pressures pump) ok with ethanol? Seems like it will have less lubricity than gasoline. I know that GM stopped supporting flex fuel in their direct injection engines (like the LT and 3.6L V6) after promoting it back in 07.
It definitely requires some confidence and patience. I suggest buying a VW de-pinning tool. Trying to find the correct pin on the main plug is the hardest. And then trying to get the orientation of the new pin/wire is difficult. Not impossible though.
Are you still running the stock lpfp? Also are u running a mix or is it full e85 ? Going is38 at the end of the month so I’m debating on if I need to do the lpfp at the same time since I’m currently full E on an is20 .
@@ClayMurphy007 when I was full is20 I was around 77% ethanol . Anything above e70 is amazing for these turbos but after 5500 or so even with e the turbo does fall flat on its face .
Do you guys think flex fuel is worth it?
The car seems happier. Runs smoother. Tons of power on tap.

Do you think the sweet spot for power on the IS20 is around E60-E70, or is it full beans at E85?.......
@ClayMurphy007 E40 E50 hits the best with is38 I don’t know about is38
IS20 I mean
I am using flex fuel iny BMW R1100RT motorcycle. It runs very well but burns more fuel.
Well done boys!!! Love the team work
“Not uhhh the first thing we broke tonight” 😂
Bro for real! My heart dropped when that piece snapped
Ill be doing this next week, thanks for the video 👍
Unitronics uniflex hardware and tune are insane on the mk8's. These GTI's love e85.
Just went flex on mine a week ago. Still running stock turbo.

We upgraded our hpfp
do you need a high or low pressure fuel pump as well when installing this?
Impressive!
“I’m not a girly man” lol
How difficult was the install in your opinion? I’ve been looking at doing it as well
Not gonna lie it was a bit difficult, BUT WELL WORTH IT

He did not install it in his opinion, it went on his car!
Does your GTI call for 0w20? If so, are you still running it with the tune? Or did you switch to a thicker viscosity?
We’re still running it I think we went up a little bit in viscosity.
We’re using 0w40

Nah we don’t have a lpfp and we’re running full E

My buddy hub dynoed on the IE flex fuel tune with a is38 at 390 ur not making 425 unfortunately. Unless ur talking about crank hp
Elevation has a lot to do with hp number to. Where did he have it dynode
Yes, likely only at the crank. We'll have to get it on the Dyno soon and share the hp number.
@@jacobMMotorsportdown in Miami it was also 80 degrees
I can’t stand this video, everything I’ve followed in this has failed
What do you mean by everything
