I actually like pixel 8 pro...I don't play games, just whtsapp TH-cam ...and it's nice to have ....the cameras are fantastic and my iPhone friends use my pixel to take photos during events so I'm pleased...Just wished Google spent time putting Snapdragon and better marketing
The custom Tensor CPU is better. Silly benchmarks don't tell the entire story.
Why would Google go back to snapdragon? That would make no sense at all?
U got amazing picture Its because thanks to tensor man 😅
@@GSP-76 tell that to the fold or P8
Snapdragon will hike up the price as well
Been watching your videos for a few months now and I really appreciate them because the larger youtubers do exactly like you mentioned: use it for 2 weeks, give a recommendation, then move onto the next big thing. This means that they can't often do a follow up of the product months down the road and if their opinions still stand.
I believe your videos can resonate to a larger group of practical audiences looking to see if things can stand the test of time, not just when they're new and shiny. Its the validation of products that make your video unique and the flow and opinions are great. Really enjoy your content and best of luck!
Thank you so much, Victor. This means a lot.
Subbed, great review. Your points are laid out very concisely, and easy for the viewer to follow. Plus, I agree with all your thoughts on the Pixel 8 series. Keep killing it.
Really informative, keep up with the good work! cheers!
Great review. Im really liking the 8 pro and Googles case in Porcelain color. The case has a great feel to it and just enough grip so I can lean the phone against something ro watch it and it stays up no problem.
I don’t have a Pixel phone from the 8 series lineup but I previously had the 5a, 6, and 6a. Each one had various bugs and glitches that just made me go with an iPhone to avoid issues. I think Google doesn’t want to admit defeat with their Tensor chipset but it just isn’t working as they’d hoped or as good as we users had hoped. Pixels are notorious for overheating, poor battery life, and overall bad connectivity issues. I feel this is due to Tensor being a modified Exynos processor. And I don’t think it’ll improve until 2025 when TSMC is manufacturing their chipset. That should stabilize the Exynos issues with Tensor hopefully.
Nice content, hope your channel continues to grow!
Guy your new video intro is niceee, love it. The pixel devices are and will always be a phone to get for me as soon as i can afford one. I would get the pro if money was not an issue.
as for tensor vs SD chips, people forget snapdragon ships are over 10 years old. How people expect a three-year-old tensor tech to compete and possibly win against the snapdragon amazes me. Give the tensor same more time and see what happens
Appreciate you for watching. My sentiments too regarding Tensor. Over time, I'm sure Google will get it right.
FYI, Tensor chip is Exynos based - Way older than 3 years :)
Would it be worth switching to pixel? I have the 23U and i hate the sharp edges
This was a review that did not regurgitate what other reviewers have said or are saying.
Nice one.
Great long term review. What is the average ambient temperature where you reside ? Basically i am asking whether you live in a colder climate or a hotter one
This video was a bless after many I viewed. Thank you! ( Helping the algorithm. :DDD )
Thanks for the review. Yeah The physical finger sensor was a great design
How do you turn off 5G? I use a Verizon US SIM on my unlocked Pixel 8 Pro.
Can you talk about Errors and issues you had with this phone during using this phone please
I'm waiting for pixel 9 pro to migrate on it from my iphone 12. Saw some my friends photos made on pixel 8 and was really impressed! Now it's my dream! )
yep,
I would love to see a video of the Pixel with beta firmware with video-out
One of the best reviews out there
Thank you 🙏🏿
I've had my Pixel 8 Pro since it's dropped.and I'm enjoying it. The Tensor 3 works fine for what use my device for. I also picked up the Samsung S24 Plus when it dropped. So as of now My Pixel 8 pro is my Side Piece. And My S24 Plus is My Daily Driver. Anyway I love the Camers on my P8P I would highly recommend the P8P to anyone who needs a good Dependable Phone. Thanks for the Video.
What is your s24+ exynos or snapdragon?
@@JackHackett1 SD
In a dilemma… I have a s24+ and can’t decide rather to keep it or trade it back in for the Pixel 8pro.. in your opinion s24+ or Pixel 8pro 🧐… I don’t game so that’s a non factor
@@MrK1976 Personally I love my Pixel 8 pro it all comes down to what features you need and what features you like more. The Pixel 8 has call screening which I love and all the Google apps are native to the phone with the S24 Plus they have Samsung apps which personally I don't use too much but using those apps is all part of the Samsung experience.now as far as the AI features in my personal opinion Pixel 8 pro works better. The speech to text is amazing on the pixel 8 since gaming is not a factor I would say it comes down to personal preference with you personally I would have to go with the S24 Plus because the battery life is just amazing on this device and that's something that's #1 on my list when I'm choosing a flagship Device.
@@BigJeffroeX438 thanks, I appreciate your insight. Have you had any issues with your pixel as far signal or overheating. Battery really isn’t that important to me as long as it can make it through the day. I work the majority of the day so my phone is mostly used for text, talk, web searching, and your occasional Microsoft team meeting. Pixel abandoning the 8 pro is one of my concerns with the tensor 3 chip.. they say 7yrs I’m thinking more like a strong 3
Should I get this at 810 USD (256gb) or S24-Snapdragon (256gb) at the same price.
Or S24+ Snapdragon (256gb) at 849 USD.
Seriously considering the pixel 8 pro mainly because of the camera.
I have the s24 ultra but man I'm tempted to get the 8pro.... I just feel like the cameras are different and the software is different enough to justify it. What do you think? I know folks are split between which phone is better but I'm torn
I think the hype has fried your braincells. You want to trade the top of the food chain device for a midranged performing phone.😂😂
I have still have a S22 ultra and its eaaily a better phone than the Pixel 8 Pro
I have the S23U and running the latest software, I couldn't tell the difference between the photos it takes and the S24U when I tested it ...I got a deal on the P8P so I've been using for the last 3-4 weeks now. The Pixel camera is definitely better. It's easily the best camera I've ever used.
Cameras in Pixel 8 pro takes much better pictures. I also like the feel of Pixel better and Google's stock Android and UI.
@@malidan1196 I think the galaxy hype fried your ability to read lol I never said I was going to trade my s24 ultra 😂 I want a second phone and I'm thinking of going with the pixel 8 pro.
@josealvarenga7065 Don't be silly it's there in black and white you said you were tempted to downgrade to a Pixel 8Pro a midranged phone. 😂😂
I already have a Pixel 8 Pro and I've had it since launch and my S22 ultra is a better device. So I very much doubt you even have a 24 Ultra to make such a statement, you are just here to tell stories to get Pixel Fanboy likes.
If you wasn't going to swap you wouldn't need to ask for opinions
The Pixel has had a fair few issues as usual, and again it is just not in the same league as the Ultra.
On the whole the pictures are not as good as people portray on TH-cam, it has a fair few misfires, Motion blur, the magents hue has returned, painfully slow processing and painfully slow AI implementation. It is not a Flagship level performing device in all honesty.
Great review
Appreciate you for watching. Thank you
I hesitate a lot,if i buy the P8P this summer or i wait for the P9P because it said that will optimize the autonomy ,do you recommend me something?
Hm difficult question cus summer is close to October. Do you know when in summer?
@@KJOS_ between 26 june and 16 july during summer discount
Get the pixel 8 Pro. Discounts for the pixel 9 pro won't be till November
I'm curious if you will make a "one year review" for the Pixel 8 Pro.
I did last year right before the pixel 8 was announced. So yes
Very nice overview! Though have you had any issues with connectivity or calls with your device?
I actually had a Pixel 8 myself for 4 months, and it was hands down my favorite phone I've ever had, but unfortunately one day calls started dropping where not a single call would go through. I tried pretty much everything, but sadly had to return it :(
Not that I know of
Why didn't you just exchange it? My P8P has been perfect since release day!
I really like the pixel but the tensor chip people in my country using pixel phones usually complain about having network problems...If they could work on that it would be a perfect phone
I actually don't think tensor is bad. It's pretty good.
@@KJOS_ i get what you're saying but in my country google phones using the tensor chip has network problems like it's not a small problem
Pixels = super software, great support, super camera but only mid range hardware specs. Pretty good how much money you save than the rest.
Hello anyone used the pixel in a loud environment like festival or concert ?
good phone but tensor make this phone warm even while just watching youtube on wifi........ not great experience
Mine freezes up several times a day. Running the same apps ive run in my last 4 phones. I hate my pixel 8 pro and cant wait to be rid of it.
As someone who's owned a S23ULTRA and had its fingerprint sensor be less accurate than my 7pro I disagree on having Google use an ultrasonic sensor.
Yes I had the s23 ultra before I bought the p8pro, I have no issues atall with the p8pros fingerprint scanner,it works everytime for me.
I'm mostly disappointed in the tensor g3 being so weak. How can this be a flagship with this chip?
I have the pixel 8 Pro since release and its extremely lagy even in the google own apps.
its so bad that i eventually switch back to sony.
You must have a defect phone then, I have no lag or any issues at all on my pixel 8 pro etc.
@@wakinguptothetruth.2566 Its the second Pixel 8Pro the First one Had Artifacts over the screen after 3 days
The conclusion section 6:58 is quite interesting 😇
Build quality quite good, but it's full of bugs. P30 pro was more reliable. Fingerprint sensor awful. Ai is brilliant, screen is perfect just not bright enough. Phone settings limited, for example can set bottom 3 buttons placement. Camera is brilliant but enabling options is confusing a bit. Need to disable several options that I can't find to enable one thing. To be honest I expected a bit more at this price range.
It's so slippery tho, I wouldn't dare use without a case.
im thinking of buying this phone tho..
I'm stressing man kmt ...
Opening Twitter demo-ing the phone is a brave move. Respect
Lmao wym?
Let's jus say there's a lot of reports of unholy Twitter FYP. Some even say opening Twitter in public is an extreme sport 💀
@@krishnchipz I get what you mean. I've filtered a lot of bs away from my timeline. My Twitter is basically about football, tech and movies.
Relax, there is nothing wrong with viewing and using Twitter/X.
I got this recommended by someone special. So I am
m getting one. /review

Overheating is still an issue
Haven noticed that
I was interviewing someone over video call. Then he dropped out. Then came back online later, and said his phone overheated. Then I said jokingly…what phone is that…a pixel? His response was…yeh Pixel. Maybe his phone was not on the latest version.
Overheating is like fat to overweight women, they'll deny it. Pixel is the,"Weird I don't have that issue",phone.
@@jevonsims900you could say the same about Samsung owners and the cameras. " I don't notice the shutter lag or motion blur"
well I own the pixel 8 pro, I have honestly never experienced any overheating issues, I am not a pixel fanboy either! I have had Samsung, oneplus and iPhones in the past etc.
It aint comfortable on hand at all. Too slippery.
I guess different strokes.
Also the display is so poor.
@@geofreykazaula7940 lol I guess you fall into commentary
It is a terrible phone - please just admit it.
Honestly the poor processor is turning me off every time I want to buy this phone.
It's a flagship phone with a midrange processor especially the GPU.
Yet it's just as swift as an S24U..Numbers don't tell the story, stop obsessing over benchmarks
@@mrkring1526
Nahh mate that's BS, i agree it's smooth same as any midrange phone these days, try a midrange OnePlus phone.
But the P8P is laughably bad at games it's not acceptable at all.
Guys don't waste your money on the pixel 8 pro, you will not like the display.
Alright what's wrong with the display
Yeah what's wrong with the display?
The panel is not good, it's towards warm side (yellowish).
I wish you got chanse to look at it.
Google is not putting a slider to adjust color temperature.
😂 the screen is fine. Very bright and fluid. What are you yapping about?
@@jaywright9635 it's not, try tilting towards away from you and see, don't deceive people.
+ The brightness is inconsistent.
so many lies in such a short so called review lol
pixel has bad battery life bad modems with signal drops and almost none existent 5g
not to mention that even wifi signal is poor
tensor gets hot and cannot keep up with even watching tik tok for long period of time
God, you guys are insufferable. Go watch something else.
