@@speedlever that's interesting. I never see full 5G signal on my phone. It's always 2 bars. I never see 4 or 5 bars of 5G signal. Anyway, they still have a lot of improvement to do on the chip. They should go for tsmc fabrication because I heard Samsung's fabrication is causing all these problems
I have owned every XL and Pro model Pixel phone since the Original Pixel XL (and Nexus before that), but I'm honestly considering skipping the Pixel 9 Pro if it's going to contain the Samsung SOC again. It's not a bad processor, but I'm ready for an SOC that can compete with Apple and Qualcomm on benchmark scoring. I can't see putting out another $1000 for a phone that won't really be much better than the 8 Pro I have now. If the Pixel 10 XL will come with the TSMC SOC, then I'll DEFINITELY be buying that, especially if Google puts the same graphene tape over the SOC and battery like they did with the Pixel 8 Pro to better manage heat. Thankfully because Google did this with the Pixel 8 Pro, I have not heat issues whatsoever.

I understand the bezels will be smaller, so sure keep the same size viewable screen and shrink the bezels then they can make the phone .1mm smaller all around, just don't shrink the viewable screen size, that's stupid. Either way they go it doesn't really matter to me because I'm switching from this P8P and going back to Samsung next year when they release the S25 series. This P8P was an experiment just to see how I liked a stock Android experience, and my conclusion after only having this phone since launch is that I prefer OneUI over stock Android. I love pixel devices. Ever since the pixel 2 I fell in love with the software and stock Android. I tried to use Samsung a few times with s22 ultra and z flip 5 but Samsung didn't work for me. I didn't like the fact that I have two Messengers two galleries and etc. basically have the same apps two times if you own a Samsung. I love pixel devices especially the 8 pro. I feel like they really caught up with the cameras especially videos.
Even though qualcomm can make AI optimised chips now, and samsung is offering AI on their phones, the fact that samsung being the largest android manufacturer could not bring their own AI features (bringing identical AI features to the pixel) and instead had to rely on google for those features shows us how much google is ahead of other manufacturers in terms of AI. On top of this, samsung is only offering those features for free till 2025, while supporting their phone upto 2031. If i want an AI focused phone, I'll still go for google
To be real, I'm kinda glad that the volume and power are on the right side. Upgrading from my pixel 4a to the 8 is a much easier switch becasue of it and at least they've kept a consistent placement with each generation...
I was expecting a slightly rounded rectangular camera module like on the Fold. This pill-shaped one doesn't gel well with the overall design. Also the edge looks sharp just like the current ones 🫤
I've bought every Google phone the xl or pro since back in the Nexus days all the way up to the current 8 pro. If they go smaller on the pro screen, I'll be looking for another phone company to buy from. I almost didn't buy the eight pro until they announced that it was a flat screen because I was not doing any more curved screen BS.
I just love the pixel line. It just works. I'm on the pixel 7 pro I won't upgrade until the pixel 10 or 11 There is hardly any point of updating every year anymore. The developments are so minor that it's not worth the increasing cost. I had my pixel one that I kept until the pixel 4 I will do the same now.
Pixel 9 will likely be the Pixel I'll be buying now that my Pixel 5 is out of updates. Hoping they'll give that sweet sweet trade in deal for the Pixel 9 like what they did for the Pixel 8 at launch
One gimmick that could actually be really cool is a multifunction or Google Assistant button on the The opposite side of the phone like what Apple did with silence switch.
They should put the volume rockers on the left 🤌 and make them separate from one another. And just the power button on the right side 👌 I'm loving the new design language. And if they make an under display camera instead of that punch hole for the camera it would be awesome 👍 bloggers and Google take notes 🙏 P.S. I also like what they're doing with the camera bar. It will make the phone less top heavy in my opinion
will only go back to Pixel when they: 1. Go back to TSMC/Snapdragon 2. Video over usb-c (and desktop mode would be a nice feature along with it) 3. Routines feature
I love my Pixel 8 Pro and loved all the ones before. But if this is the final Design of the Pixel 9 I don't like it. It's to far away from Google's own design and to close to the Design of Apple 😅
I'm on a day one-ish P8 (from the P6, from the P4, from the P2), and the supposed design of the P9 isn't tempting me at all. The P8 feels perfect in it's dimensions and shapeliness. I also like the camera bar way more. The supposed P9 design seems way overinfluenced by Apple for superficial reasons, at the expense of practical ones.
It's still early but it seems like a strange decision (if it ends up being true) that the 9 Pro will be slightly smaller than the 8 Pro. Plus, yeah, just to piggy-back off of what others are saying, the Tensor chip could use some love, too.
Google may downsize the Pro because it may be possible they’re gonna join the “Ultra” bandwagon with an even bigger device. Say 6.82 like the OnePlus 12. Just a thought.
I actually like the pixel 9 design compared to the earlier ones, my only hope is Google moves from Samsung to TSMC fabricated Tensor chips. When they do, that's the day I'm switching to a Pixel.
New video strategy for the channel? I feel like normally this would be a part of a pocket now daily conversation. Are we doing less pocket now daily videos?😊
The reason for Google to be shrinking the Screen on Pixel 9 Pro to a 6'5 " I bet they will introduce a Pixel Ultra with a 6'8" or 6'9" screen possibly with a stylus ?
I like a bigger screen. Pixels use to be 6.1” for the A series, 6.4”for the regular Pixel and 6.7” for the Pro. Those are good sizes. The Samsung S 24’s added .1” to their screen sizes and the iPhone plus and Pro models are 6.7”. I like those sizes. I have small hands and do not mind using two hands at all. Plus, the Pixels will still be using the Exynos chip so a Samsung S24+ or an iPhone plus will be the way to go.
The only that’s keeping me off the pixels are that exynos disguised tensor Chip that’s been throttling these phones Google needs to find a way to sort things out with TSMC bc working with Samsung never worked for their benefit
Despite the choices of Android OEMs getting less and less, I still wouldn't consider a Pixel with its choice of SoC and the issues that come with it. Not to mention Google isn't making the Pixel range available where I live (New Zealand) and no proper support for 5G/VoLTE/VoWIFI. Sticking with Samsung.
Why would Google make the Pixel 9 Pro smaller? This will mean a smaller battery unfortunately, I think Google moving away from Samsung for their Tensor chip eventually will help them immensely.
LOVE my Pixel 8 Pro. Will be buying Pixel 9 pro. Pixel is the best android phone on the market. benchmarks don't matter anymore. ALL phones can handle everything in Android OS.
i dont understand the hate on the tensor chips. they might be slower on paper but in reality there isn't a noticeable difference. they run smooth, cool, and fast enough to keep up with everyday needs. the only people who are going to care are spec sheet worriers that need a reality check.
My past three phones have been one Nexus phone and two Pixel phones. I'm probably going away from the crowd here but i have no intentions of getting a phone with a smaller screen size. I would honestly be happy if it was a little larger. I'll switch manufacturers if they shrink the screen and this 7pro dies during the smaller 9pro's time on the market.
I don't think I'll ever trust another Pixel after my 2 horrible years with the Pixel 6 Pro. They have some cool features, but at least I know my Samsung is going to work like a phone should.
I totally agree the Pixel's biggest feat is its AI capabilities within its CPU. But after seeing what the snapdragon can do, I think the Pixel 8 pro might be in some trouble. don't get me wrong The Pixel 8 pro is still the king of AI, but the Snapdragon is so close, it should put Google on notice. and if you are a power user, you will notice the difference in speed when gaming or running other heavy tasks. so, google need to drop the A series and take a play out of Apple book and release a Pixel S or Ultra variant.
Google keeps shooting themselves in the foot by keeping Tensor based off of that Exynos chipset. It will never be perfected with the known issues with Exynos related chips which are bugs and glitches like overheating, bad battery life, and bad connectivity. Google should have kept using mid range to upper end Snapdragon processors until they had a fully custom version of Tensor not based on an Exynos processor. Google has done some irreparable damage to their reputation in the smartphone market amongst users because of all the software problems. How can a company who makes and deals in primarily software make so many software related mistakes? I’m a Pixel fan but won’t get another one until they can fix the ongoing issues their phones keep having.
The reason why the screen size is coming down is the Japanese market. The Japanese love small phones. The popularity of Pixels in Japan is growing massively. You see a lot there and by shrinking its sizes just cements that. Personally I have tried both 8 intonation’s and I wasn’t impressed. They’re over priced and underpowered. So I will stay with my 15 Pro max until Google offer a more reasonable offerings.
Making the screen smaller doesn't bother me. But if they are charging 1000 and using a weak CPU and modem, they can forget about it.
It still beats iPhones and S24 ultras in real life tests...😂

Hi friend, is it possible that Google will add in the next future update the Phone Call Translate technology, i.e. the translation of calls in real time, it's like the Samsung S24 Ultra.
Still love my pixel 5, my first google phone. As it's now out of support I'll probably try to wait it out til pixel 9 release, then make an upgrade call
so its pixel 9, pixel 9 +, pixel 9 pro and pixel 9 pro +?
That would be great if the pro model got a little smaller that's always what kept me from getting it even though I wanted some of the extra cameras but I didn't want to carry a phone that big so I'm all for a pro model that's a little smaller
Totally agree with you about the size! I would have loved to have the telephoto lens but the phone is just too big.
1:46 The camera protruding form factor looks stunning because the way it matches or blend perfectly with the square shape of the phone body.1:46 This overhaul redesign of Pixel phone form factor is aesthetically appealing to the sight. 2:02 I personally won't buy a smaller size phone especially if I'm spending so much money for a phone. 2:02 Maybe Google is bringing out a Ultra version which will be good for business. 2:02 A 6.8 inch phone is my only go to phone for the top tier models. 2:38 The blue colour of the phone in this rendition looks exquisite. 4:53 Ai is the right trajectory please don't hesitate to go all out innovating new essential services like Live translation. Google Pixel please bring Live translation on Pixel 9 Ultra.
Why pixel phones have no 5g connection in the Philippines?
If Google makes a Pro Max version, with a larger display, maybe. Remember how great the s20 Ultra's 6.9" display was?
That’s only 1% increase. They have 6’8
I love pixel devices.
Am i alone in Possibly wanting a 7 inch phone. As in the old Huawei p20? If my memory serves me correctly?
Was good to upgrade to the pixel 8 pro but if this is what's coming later this year I will wait.
It will, new phones come out every year.
I'm just hoping it's comfortable to hold like pixel phones usually are
I just love the pixel line. It just works. I'm on the pixel 7 pro
I won't upgrade until the pixel 10 or 11 There is hardly any point of updating every year anymore. The developments are so minor that it's not worth the increasing cost.
I had my pixel one that I kept until the pixel 4
I will do the same now.
Will it have 7 years of security updates though
Obviously even the low end 6a and 7a have it
@@niravraj2815 no. Prior to pixel 8, all pixel phones had 3 years OS updates and 5 year security updates
either the next tensor chip can compete with QSD 8gen3(+)/4 or they just take the QSD, otherwise won't be interesting.
I don't know why i am so attached to the pixel 6pro design,,, honestly that's where i see the real Google pixel phones designers wonders
They should put the volume rockers on the left 🤌 and make them separate from one another. And just the power button on the right side 👌 I'm loving the new design language. And if they make an under display camera instead of that punch hole for the camera it would be awesome 👍 bloggers and Google take notes 🙏
P.S. I also like what they're doing with the camera bar. It will make the phone less top heavy in my opinion
Launch in October, then sale on black Friday
we need pocketnow daily back :(
Um no tensor g4 should be great as its basically a modified exynos 2400 and 2400 is on par with 8 gen 3
The CPU is almost there, but the GPU is still playing catch up. Plus, by the time the G4 comes out the 2400 will be close to a year old.
@@Garrettdx1988 um no gpu surpasses 8 gen 3 in gaming especially in war thunder
No locau available Pixel in my country 🇵🇭 😢
I'm not a fan of the Pixel 9 Pro screen to be smaller from the previous generations. However, the design looks intriguing.
If they go smaller, I am out.
I finally bought a Pixel with the 7Pro series because it went bigger.
Wow that's nice 😮 making me regret getting the Samsung , hopefully price doesn't ruin it
will only go back to Pixel when they:
1. Go back to TSMC/Snapdragon
2. Video over usb-c (and desktop mode would be a nice feature along with it)
3. Routines feature
battery life is main thing keeping me from getting another pixel phone (currently 7pro) think ill just get the s25 ultra whenever that comes out
I love my Pixel 8 Pro and loved all the ones before.
It's Google, it's never too early for rumors and leaks 😅
Didn't pixel 8 just come out dang
It's still early but it seems like a strange decision (if it ends up being true) that the 9 Pro will be slightly smaller than the 8 Pro. Plus, yeah, just to piggy-back off of what others are saying, the Tensor chip could use some love, too.
Well the 8 is considerably smaller than the 7 that I had.
Google may downsize the Pro because it may be possible they’re gonna join the “Ultra” bandwagon with an even bigger device. Say 6.82 like the OnePlus 12. Just a thought.
@JRM
From your Comment, to Google's Eyes!
I like this more than if it was a 50-second segment in a video with a bunch of other topics
Pixel products are the best of view. but the camera protection is concern to all of the phone companies for laying down the phone on Ground.
I have a pixel 7 and it's glitchy as hell now
The reason for Google to be shrinking the Screen on Pixel 9 Pro to a 6'5 " I bet they will introduce a Pixel Ultra with a 6'8" or 6'9" screen possibly with a stylus ?
Interesting thought, that I am surprised nobody else is picking up on?.
AT&T didn’t offer the blue Pixel 8 Pro in the 512gb and only offered it in the 128gb which left me feeling like WTF AT&T/Google😢
The only that’s keeping me off the pixels are that exynos disguised tensor Chip that’s been throttling these phones
Google needs to find a way to sort things out with TSMC bc working with Samsung never worked for their benefit
Love how companies want to win by being copy cats of Apple. Please try to innovate and stop copying.
🤣🤣🤣 so naive
Despite the choices of Android OEMs getting less and less, I still wouldn't consider a Pixel with its choice of SoC and the issues that come with it. Not to mention Google isn't making the Pixel range available where I live (New Zealand) and no proper support for 5G/VoLTE/VoWIFI. Sticking with Samsung.
Dont yall get xioami over there? Literal better phone.
still no 5g?
Why would Google make the Pixel 9 Pro smaller? This will mean a smaller battery unfortunately, I think Google moving away from Samsung for their Tensor chip eventually will help them immensely.
Pixel 3 a XL and 6... Waiting for the 9pro.
Maybe they can move from exynos to mediatek much better or snapdragon best chip as of now
One plus 12 video?
My past three phones have been one Nexus phone and two Pixel phones. I'm probably going away from the crowd here but i have no intentions of getting a phone with a smaller screen size. I would honestly be happy if it was a little larger. I'll switch manufacturers if they shrink the screen and this 7pro dies during the smaller 9pro's time on the market.
And. Please. A power button on one side and the volume on the other side! As in the one plus phones
I don’t want the boxy design. Curved edges are the way to go!
Think the pixel 6 was the most iconic Pixel design
There are Zero elements of Exynos in Tensor, you cannot prove that unfounded rumor.
I am buying it.
Was hoping they'd take the rectangular camera bump off the Pixel Fold
