Countdown to extinction is a great album. Every song on it is good. I like that you reacted to ashes in your mouth, it’s not a song most people would choose to react to. Two of my favourites on this album are architecture of aggression and this was my life.
This song was left out of the Rust in Peace list, that's why we wanted you to listen to it 😜 Another one that was also left out is called "Breakpoint".
@ExploringTheSmoke just a suggestion. Ashes in your mouth is on the 5th album, perhaps go back to the first and listen in order. Way more thrashing, raw speed.
My last words has one of the sickest bass riffs, and Dave's best solo IMO. Top 3 song for me on that album, along with The Conjouring and Wake Up Dead.
This was your first time I got this album first day of release It was one of my influences for playing bass Just like Butler Geezer was when I was a little child which is why I chose bass
I knew you’d like this song. It’s a great album, and the production is pretty fantastic. I’d recommend either Symphony of Destruction or Skin o My Teeth next. BTW, I forgot to comment on your last Megadeth video, but I’m so excited that you finally finished Rust in Peace. One of the best albums ever!
Beaaaaaarrrrrr!! I'm glad you enjoyed mannn and skull beneath will be coming 😂 I screenshotted it to my phone AND post it on the list so it will be there ahha
Great song, great reaction. I'm happy for you to have found a band you really like. Megadeth has been my favorite band for over 30 years and for good reason. For me, it's a dead giveaway that it's a good song if it gets me air drumming. LOL. This track always makes the list when I put together a playlist. Lemme see,....what's good song to suggest to you to do next,...something apart from what everybody else might suggest. I got it,...please react to The Disintegrators off the album Cryptic Writings.
YES DUDE! Thanks for listening to my suggestion! So glad you liked it. A few things…. First two solos are Marty and the last face melting one is Dave. Loved the Avenged connection! I love avenged. Waking the fallen and City of Evil are two of my all time fav albums. Also, Matt Shadows has referenced this Megadeth album “countdown to extinction” as one of the most influential albums to him. He actually wore the album cover art shirt on their last tour. Also, Megadeth covered Anarchy in the UK and played it on this album release tour. You really nailed it with the connections! This album is probably their most commercially successful with Symphony of Destruction on it, but they have some absolutely bangers like Ashes in your Mouth. Try High Speed Dirt. Another one of my favorites. Keep up with the reactions brotha! Missed you last week.
DESTRUCTTTTT!! Thank you for answering my mutterings throughout and woohoo check out that musical connection ear! Honestly thank you for the kick arse comment and have no fear, now that the holidays are done I'm back in full swing 💪🏻💪🏻
Just found your channel when the "Almighty Algorithm" spit your reaction to Hanger 18 out at me. Glad you're enjoying Megadeth! I've been a fan since 1986 when "Peace Sells...But Who's Buying" came out. I started my Metal journey with Iron Maiden when I was 14, I'm 53 now. I then bumped into a little San Fransisco band called Metallica. Then I read in a metal magazine (probably HIt Parade) about their first guitarist, named Dave Mustaine, who had been kicked out of Metallica and had started his own band, Megadeth (BTW if you don't know, a Megadeth is a unit of measure equal to 1000 people killed by a nuclear blast...a very Cold War term). So I naturally picked up the "Peace Sells..." album. Since then, I have loved Megadeth more than any other Thrash band. My opinion, of course, but they are one of the most dynamic bands to ever lay down a "Thrash" lick! I have moved on to bands like Dream Theater these days, but those first three bands still hold a dear place in my heart. Since you are a bass player, you should listen to the song "Peace Sells..." I think it is one of Ellefson's best baselines. Again, my opinion. Rock on, Man! 🤘✌
Aaron!! Thank you for the incredible comment, thank you TH-cam algorithm haha, peace sells is DEFINITELY coming, and for a "Thrash" band they have some undeniably good grooves, I'm glad you've been enjoying, have a great day
The song countdown to extinction is a good one , After the woman talks and the music comes back in ....wow incredible ,I've never heard anything that grabs you like that. ( do the album) After that try good mourning black friday from the peace sells album.
Stumbled upon your channel, I love your reaction to the kickass bridge. Fun fact: those riffs (the one during 'if you're fighting to live...' and under the solos) are Marty's! Also, if you wanna distinguish who's playing which solo during the RIP to Risk eras: the solos that have warmer, almost thicker sounds and is more melodic/exotic/complex, are Marty's. The solos with the more piercing guitar tone and more pentatonic based are Dave's. Fun way to distinguish them! Reaction suggestion: Wisconsin Death Trip (the album) by Static-X if you haven't already. Rock on!
Good job Brother! I've been a metal head sine the early 70s and the journey has been EPIC. Megadeth is nearly top of the heap in my opinion. When you get done with their older stuff, check out their new album "The Sick The Dying and the Dead" that came out last year. Different band members (except Dave) but they KILLED it! Also don't know what you know about Black Sabbath but they are a MUST to dive into. Best to start with their first album "Black Sabbath Black Sabbath". That's where metal begins. They truly are the fathers of metal. Cheers my friend.
Most Megadeth fans can agree the top 3 albums from Megadeth are "Rust in Peace", which you have already finished, "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" and "Countdown to Extinction". 'Ashes in Your Mouth' is the last song of "Countdown..." You should continue with "Countdown..." and complete this album before moving to another. Dave has released 16 studio albums as well as singles from movies and other sources. You could listen to one Megadeth song a week and it would take you more than 3 years to complete the studio discography. Go back to the first song on this album, 'Skin O' My Teeth', then work through "Countdown..." before moved to the older material, like "Pease Sells..." or "Killing Is My Business and Business Is Good", their first album. Looking forward to whichever song you react to next.
Ooooh you make a good argument to continue this album....it's a toss up between countdown and killing is my business......damn! I will NOT be doing one song a week again 😂 I need all the metal all the time! Glad you're still enjoying, Metal, you're a legend
@@ExploringTheSmoke When you decide to listen to the “Killing is My Business…” album, you should go to my TH-cam channel to listen to this album. I have two versions of the first album. One is a remix of the original album preformed by another TH-camr years ago. It is better than the original recording without changing the sound too much. The other version is a remastered version I did from the 2004 remastered album version. The sound quality is the best. I have remixed parts of the original album into the new version to re-add parts which were removed and fixed parts which were over produced. Either version is better sound quality than the original even though the original is not as bad as most people think. I have heard worse recordings… lol.
@@ExploringTheSmoke "Killing..." is only 31 minutes long. "Peace Sells..." is 35 minutes. Both albums are 8 songs each. You could listen to half of each album with comments in 20 minutes or so.
@@metaltildeth6783 I think going forward with Megadeth I'm going to do full albums as I've established a liking for them 😂 glad you're still enjoying Deth!
You definitely have to react to either Set The World Afire or Liar from the So Far So Good So What album. Easily Megadeths most underated album and those 2 tracks are thrashy as hell. Definitely gotta add those to your list. Enjoy!
Liam!! Welcome and I'm glad you enjoyed the reaction! I will be doing full album reviews for Megadeth in the future so have no fear they will DEFINITELY be added to the list and listened to 💪🏻
Great content, gotta listen to some slayer- war ensemble, angel of death etc and if you like bass then anthrax “caught in a mosh” has one of my favourite basslines ever
Funny you should mention Anarchy in the UK. Megadeth actually does a cover of it. And it has a video as well. It's from the So Far So Good ...So What album (just before Rust in Peace). Check it out mate \m/
Still waiting for "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying" full album start to finish ;) I know full album is tough so just do The Conjuring and Wake Up Dead off that album ;)
