30 years ago I took my 16 year old daughter as her last wish to goto a concert with her dad to see Floyd Pulse concert at Earls Court .. I find it hard to put it into words how the concert was for me or my daughter .. how my daughter just cried an sang her heart out sadly she passed away a few days after but I'm a very proud dad that she got to experience this ONCE in a lifetime event .. this concert was subliminal / emotional / out of this world IMMENSE from start to finish .. Simply the best how David made his guitar touch our souls his solo's was not of this world ! 200,000 watts one of thee best visual moments ever .. ever ever ever the crowd was INSANE respect to everyone there .. Backing singers just smashed it they was incredible .. PLEASE do the whole show as a react you will LOVE it and if ya don't cry there's something wrong !!! lol .. Raises his glass to his daughter you made me sooooo proud to be there with you and to experience what dad was brought up on with Floyd love u babygirl !
I was there. I don't mind admitting that I spent most of the gig with tears running down my face. You don't watch or listen to Floyd, you live it. It took me 3 days to recover from the emotional experience. I was drained. I'm 62 now & I will never forget the feelings I experienced that night. I will take them to my grave. David Gilmore always plays straight as he thinks they should play live as close as possible to the album version. This live solo is much longer than the album as the album version fades out
I saw this 1994 show four times where this was filmed - London's Earl's Court (including the first night of the run when a large section of seating collapsed). What many might not appreciate from a technical point-of-view is that Marc Brickman's lighting design was not only stupendous, but beautiful - particularly given the technical confines of DMX lighting control 30 years ago. The "Mr Screen" truss flipping forward and descending to envelope David Gilmour in a blinding pool of light was staggering to see and the huge mirror ball fanning open top and bottom simply took your breath away. Nowadays, where there's the budget, designers throw literally everything at it, but I've not seen anything in the last 30 years, yet alone of late, that tops the excitement and sheer creativeness of the production and sound quality I witnessed at those 1994 shows.
I was there on the 19th and a friend of mine managed to see it 5 times, he slept on the street so that he could save his money for the tickets ( bought at the gates outside).
I'm unfortunately too young to have been there live in 1994 as well, but since I saw the Pulse DVD the first time, this is to me the most beautiful stage ever! It's just incredible what Brickman did rhere, that's not just a light show, but art imo. It's already so impressive on DVD, I can only imagine how it must have been seeing it in front of you. I finally saw David Gilmour live in Rome a month ago which was a dream come true and Brickman again did a great job, especially during "Sorrow", and the lasers went absolutely crazy during CN, yet the 1994 stage can't really be surpassed I think. Everybody who has seen it in 1994 is very lucky.

By the time I heard about the shows in London it was sold out and half-decent tickets on the secondary market were a staggering £1000-£4000! But yes, 1994 will never fade from my memory and I do appreciate my good fortune for having been there and indeed, seeing The Wall shows at the same venue in both 1980 and 1981.
I was there that night.. I was about 20ft to the left of the collapsed stand. Thought it was a sound effect at the start of the show......until the lights came on. A guy I worked with at the time was walking up the stairs as the stand collapsed around him. We obviously blamed it on him. He was a rather large gentleman 😂

I am 76 years old, saw FLOYD LIVE 5 times, along with about 200 other rock bands concerts in my life time and FLOYD WAS by far the most unique mind-blowing bands ever. But this is a new found thing for me seeing young folks enjoying the best rock bands and music ever created... I am American and saw many concerts in Atlanta, Georgia, N.Y.C., and other Southern towns. It was a fantastic Era to live and enjoy great great rock bands, that will be enjoyed and live on by young folks turned on, exposed to their music ❤❤❤

Where was it? I saw momentary lapse of reason tour in kentucky. The first show sold out in less than an hour and I thought I missed my chance. Then they announced a second show on the next night and I got my ticket fast.
I saw this tour at RFK Stadium in DC. Still the most amazing concert I’ve ever seen, between the visuals and the crystal clear sound, not to mention Gilmour’s genius. Unbelievable show

I commented on David Gilmore's Facebook when he played and he gave me a thumb up to my comment. I saw the Pink Floyd Division Bell blimp when I rode my bike home from work. It was in front of me and almost straight above. It flew from my left to right. That's my type of synchronicity.

I saw them in London on that tour. Makes me cry every time I watch this track back. Never get bored with it, it's truly epic. So fortunate it was captured on film, possibly the greatest guitar solo ever filmed.
I love seeing the younger generation experience Pink Floyd. My first concert was Pink Floyd in 1977 when they were touring for the animals album. We sat outside soldiers field in chicago from around 9am til around 4pm when they let us in ( general admission seating). If you can imagine a tail gate party of 30,000 Pink Floyd fans in the 70's. It was like we were all family. We all shared and helped each other. Since then I have experienced them in concert 2 other times. When Mr. Gilmore breaks into this solo live it's something that hits you in your soul.
And an incredibly nice person. During lockdown he did a number of videos relating to his bass contribution to Pink Floyd live and was very intelligent and entertaining.
I finally saw David Gilmour perform this live just last week in LA. Being that it will be his last tour at age 78 I was brought to tears that an era is almost over, just as I do each time I watch the Pulse concert. David, Nick and Richard were still in their prime during the Pulse tour and it shows. David always sounds amazing even in his old age, a little missed note here and there but still honoring the originally recorded music but also emotionally driven as only he and his Stratocaster can. The sweet thing about this recent tour, David has his daughter Romany Gilmour doing backup vocals and also sings lead on a couple new songs they just released.
A very good friend of mine Walt, a huge Pink Floyd fan told me many years ago that someone asked David Gilmour about playing fast 18:13 . David responded, you don't have to play fast to be good you just have to play good♪♫♪ Thank you for taking the time to make and post this excellent video...
I was at that concert (and 2 other nights.) This was the second encore - by the time they got to this, they had been playing for just over two hours and IF that solo had been ten hours long, then nobody there would have minded . . . . or cared. You HAVE the dvd behind - please take the 3 hours to watch it in ONE sitting and make sure your lights and phone are both OFF! And at the very end of the song when the ball was fully open and the band had stopped playing - there remained that one bright light. This was a direct reference to the Crazy Diamond that was Syd Barrett,
The thing i love so much about David is the fact that he just stands there and plays from his soul! No running around, no climbing on the equipment or jumping about. He has always just stood there and just gave us everything! Yes indeed you should do tge entire concert. It is a Masterwork!

He's totally carrying that whole section, as far as making it "interesting." Everything else is just repetition. I also had the same thought about the complexity of the production. I never thought about how many cables there were connecting everything. Wow. What I always thought about was the synchronization of the light show with the music. It jumps out at you as you watch the full show. I've enjoyed this concert in full many, many times since I first saw it on VHS in the mid-90s. It NEVER gets old. I vote for the whole show. Yup, the same chord sequence and key (Bm) as the verses. In fact, it’s the key changes that make the song IMO. The first solo and choruses are in the relative major key D. If they’d repeated that for the second solo it would never have had that darker element to it.
This guy on the bass, Guy Pratt, has been working with David Gilmour for 37 years. The only musician who worked with him longer than this is Richard Wright himself. He even married Rick's daughter!
@NicknLex I saw this tour live in concert as well as the tour before, which the live content is called Tge Delicate Sound Of Thunder. The stage production isn't quite as extravagant but musically it is as good or better. You guys really should revisit some live performances of this tour. Between '87 to '89. So good!!
Most guitarists try to play the most notes possible as fast as possible, whereas David Gilmour endeavours to get the most out of every note - letting each note fully live its life before he plays the next. That's art in its purest, most powerful expression. Thank you for giving such beauty to the World, David.
I wasn't at this particular show, but saw this tour in Detroit. There are absolutely no words to describe what it was like being taken that far down the PF rabbit hole for the entirety of the concert. During the big solo on this song, you felt like David was playing directly to you and you were mesmerized. Every song takes you exactly where they want you to go and it was all encompassing. It was surreal to go back out the door into the "real" world and act like you weren't just in another space and time. Watch the whole concert on YT. It was verbatim the same show I saw.
Obviously do all of Pulse. I'm in. You're right to give Roger props for Numb (and all his other songs) but this is a Gilmour/Waters song, which is probably why it's so great.
Pink Floyd was the first live show i saw. It was in 1973. I was 13. The show featured The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety. It was that moment in life when I realized things could be great and spectacular. David's guitar solo at the end of this is great and spectacular.
What makes the outro performance by Gilmour so emotional is the distortion he adds at the point the ball opens. Since, in a simplistic view, this song is about pain, his guitar sounds like it is wailing in pain and you can feel it to your core. I have a pet peeve about calling the outro a "solo" because the band never stops playing behind him. It keeps the soundfield of the song going and makes his performance better, fuller. Right down to the drummer crashing to announce the ball drop (You can see him looking up in anticipation). I also like that she mentions how he bends the strings. Could we call him a "Fender Bender"? I saw a quote from him, admitting to not being able to play super fast like EVH and others, so he developed his own style, and I think it's wonderful.
1994 i was there at earls court London to witness this, in my opinion the best Pink Floyd gig they ever did from the music to the lighting and special effects the sound was awsome and i will never ever forget this Gig. I've been to see Floyd six times over the years from 1975 wish you were here tour, the wall twice 1980 and 81, late 80s the delicate sound of thunder tour twice including Wembley stadium, and lastly this one which was recorded and filmed for P. U. L. S.E..... I'm now 68yrs old and still watching and remembering this awsome show. It's great to see youngsters like you both doing this and hope you do much more Floyd in the future take care from England UK.
@VickersDoorter what a shame you missed the 1975 Knebworth gig, that was the only time i saw them perform Echoes, i missed the Animals tour i had tickets but was very ill at the time and couldn't go. I wish it was possible to travel back in time to relive all those concerts great times back then.
I will never get tired of hearing this version of this song. Masterpiece. Add in to that the light show and it goes to another level. So beautifully choreographed with the music, the dark (second) solo tells a story, it's the drifting down with the doctor's injection to start, the near submission when the lights go out and the disco ball gets lit up, deciding to fight when the siren guitar notes start, running through to finally winning the fight by the end.
I've been on this pink floyd journey of musical extacy for over fifty years and take from me you will never get tired of listening to them I'm 75 years young and love all types of music but pink floyd are the ultimate there is no one out you could possibly compare them to great reaction loved it
The people who saw that live had a life changing experience. Listening to this concert in particular with an excellent set of headphones further enhances the recording. I can only imagine how it was live.
Thanks for not pausing the solo! I just flew from Canada to London to see David perform and although he's obviously getting old, he's 78 now, he still killed it. I was too young to see Pink Floyd live, but to be able to see David perform the second solo to Comfortably Numb live was truly a dream come true.
Nice reaction! I was at their concert in Athens 1989. I still remember almost everything. The crowd was wild! I am lucky to have experienced that wonderful night. Memories and nostalgia for days gone by, sigh.
I was fortunate enough to see this Pulse concert at an arena in New Jersey and I was in awe of the scale of the event. I was seated in the center rear upper levels which was above the multi level (I think 4 stories) of scaffolding that was built for the techs who controlled the computers for the lasers. There was also mixing boards at a lower level. No other concert I have ever been to came close to this PF show. It just kept getting more and more incredible!! All these years later, I still get emotional seeing and listening to this performance!
I’m incredibly new to Pink Floyd and had only ever heard Another Brick In The Wall growing up. Courtesy of another reaction channel this performance was the first PF song I’d ever sat down and properly listened to with headphones. Needless to say I was absolutely blown away and it sat with me for weeks, partly due to playing it over and over again. I still haven’t heard all that many songs yet, but I keep getting drawn back into this one, although it has been marginally surpassed by High Hopes from this same concert. Also Echoes live from Pompeii is another one that touches me deeply. I finally get all the love for PF!!!
Had the opportunity to see this concert at the Oakland Coliseum. We were center on the top deck. Before the concert started, the tour people came up to us and asked if we wanted to sit closer to the stage, because the finale for this song would block our view. We stayed were we where, and glad we did. We had a clear view of the entire light show. Such an epic night. Been to many concerts, but this show was just special in so many ways.
I was at Earls Court for 3 concerts at the end of the Pulse tour, including the night they filmed the concert. I’m so glad that the video exists, and I enjoy the reactions of Pink Floyd videos. ❤ The ball was mostly hidden during the concert with a black curtain, but you could see it from below if you looked for it.
Perfect timing as I’m seeing Gilmour tonight at MSG.. 1994- I was a member of the NYPD and worked the Floyd Yankee Stadium show and got to hang with the sound crew..

I absolutely love how the first solo is always played with the original notes, as if it was a piece of Classical music. You play the first solo as written, note-for-note to honor the composer. No other notes would fit here. The second solo is the one that is open to artist interpretation and improvisation. Perfect.

It was an amazing display of talented musicians and lighting experts When they played this song and David started his second lead, that 10' Disco ball comes down like a UFO checking out the music. As far as I know they played the full Dark Side of the Moon Album on the second half of pulse. The Bassist is Guy Pratt, the son in law of Richard Wright.
I'm 68 and I was there. It was the ultimate gig. It still brings tears of joy watching the video as a reminder. So glad to see new generations, including my kids and grandchildren, loving this music. I wish you all could have been there (sic).

Fun fact: Dany from “the warning” said that watching this song live with her father when she was a little girl, blew her mind, she knew at that moment, she wanted to be a rock star. Pink Floyd has inspired so many good artists, “Soda Stereo” also has a lot of Pink Floyd influence in their music.

I was there, it took me ages to get tickets ... long before online bookings!! It was without doubt the best thing I've ever seen, listened and experienced in my life. Breathtaking! It's not till years later you wish you could go back in time and do it all again ! At least i kept the tickets safe and still have them all these years later! I remember listening to the solo and the glitter ball, it was like it was snowing with glimpses of astonished faces in the light! Just brilliant.
I was lucky enough to see this concert live twice in 1994...once at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, TN and again at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. I still have yet to see a show that matches this concert. One fan came out of the Nashville show afterward and said "Boy, I thought I'd seen a concert before!". The whole thing was jaw dropping.

I commented on David Gilmore's Facebook when he played and he gave me a thumb up to my comment. I saw the Pink Floyd Division Bell blimp when I rode my bike home from work. It was in front of me and almost straight above. It flew from my left to right. That's my type of synchronicity.

David Gilmour still performs Comfortably Numb live. The bassist Guy Pratt (who incidentally was Richard Wright's son in law) still performs with him.
I was there at Earls Court. It was the most magnificent concert which will never be matched in my opinion.

Saw this tour in Dallas in '94. Religious experience and still the best concert I've attended in all my years.
I saw them in London on that tour. Makes me cry every time I watch this track back. Never get bored with it, it's truly epic. So fortunate it was captured on film, possibly the greatest guitar solo ever filmed.
I love seeing the younger generation experience Pink Floyd. My first concert was Pink Floyd in 1977 when they were touring for the animals album. We sat outside soldiers field in chicago from around 9am til around 4pm when they let us in ( general admission seating). If you can imagine a tail gate party of 30,000 Pink Floyd fans in the 70's. It was like we were all family. We all shared and helped each other.
Since then I have experienced them in concert 2 other times. When Mr. Gilmore breaks into this solo live it's something that hits you in your soul.
That second guitar solo is simply breathtaking.
Guy Pratt is the Bass player. He is also Richard Wright's son-in-law.
And an incredibly nice person. During lockdown he did a number of videos relating to his bass contribution to Pink Floyd live and was very intelligent and entertaining.
WAS Richard Wright's son-in-law. They either divorced or separated a few years before Richard's passing.

I finally saw David Gilmour perform this live just last week in LA. Being that it will be his last tour at age 78 I was brought to tears that an era is almost over, just as I do each time I watch the Pulse concert. David, Nick and Richard were still in their prime during the Pulse tour and it shows.
David always sounds amazing even in his old age, a little missed note here and there but still honoring the originally recorded music but also emotionally driven as only he and his Stratocaster can.
The sweet thing about this recent tour, David has his daughter Romany Gilmour doing backup vocals and also sings lead on a couple new songs they just released.

I was at that concert (and 2 other nights.) This was the second encore - by the time they got to this, they had been playing for just over two hours and IF that solo had been ten hours long, then nobody there would have minded . . . . or cared. You HAVE the dvd behind - please take the 3 hours to watch it in ONE sitting and make sure your lights and phone are both OFF!
And at the very end of the song when the ball was fully open and the band had stopped playing - there remained that one bright light. This was a direct reference to the Crazy Diamond that was Syd Barrett,
The thing i love so much about David is the fact that he just stands there and plays from his soul! No running around, no climbing on the equipment or jumping about. He has always just stood there and just gave us everything! Yes indeed you should do tge entire concert. It is a Masterwork!

17:50 YES! Thank you. This is the best version of the solo out of all the ones I've heard. So beautiful. That second solo is played over the same few chords which are simply repeating over & over. He's totally carrying that whole section, as far as making it "interesting." Everything else is just repetition. I also had the same thought about the complexity of the production. I never thought about how many cables there were connecting everything. Wow. What I always thought about was the synchronization of the light show with the music. It jumps out at you as you watch the full show. I've enjoyed this concert in full many, many times since I first saw it on VHS in the mid-90s. It NEVER gets old. I vote for the whole show. Absolutely! Great content!
Yup, the same chord sequence and key (Bm) as the verses. In fact, it’s the key changes that make the song IMO. The first solo and choruses are in the relative major key D. If they’d repeated that for the second solo it would never have had that darker element to it.
This was 30yrs ago and visually as good as anything you will see today!

This guy on the bass, Guy Pratt, has been working with David Gilmour for 37 years. The only musician who worked with him longer than this is Richard Wright himself. He even married Rick's daughter!

@NicknLex I saw this tour live in concert as well as the tour before, which the live content is called Tge Delicate Sound Of Thunder. The stage production isn't quite as extravagant but musically it is as good or better. You guys really should revisit some live performances of this tour. Between '87 to '89. So good!!

Most guitarists try to play the most notes possible as fast as possible, whereas David Gilmour endeavours to get the most out of every note - letting each note fully live its life before he plays the next. I’ve never seen Pink Floyd in concert before, but I bet it must have been an incredible experience.
I wasn't at this particular show, but saw this tour in Detroit. There are absolutely no words to describe what it was like being taken that far down the PF rabbit hole for the entirety of the concert. During the big solo on this song, you felt like David was playing directly to you and you were mesmerized. Every song takes you exactly where they want you to go and it was all encompassing. It was surreal to go back out the door into the "real" world and act like you weren't just in another space and time. Watch the whole concert on YT. It was verbatim the same show I saw.
It's more than dramatic, it's dynamic but on steroids...Mesmerizing and timeless brilliance!
Obviously do all of Pulse. I'm in. You're right to give Roger props for Numb (and all his other songs) but this is a Gilmour/Waters song, which is probably why it's so great.

I was at this concert, lives long in the memory and the heat from the pyrotechnics was immense!
Pink Floyd was the first live show i saw. It was in 1973. I was 13. The show featured The Dark Side Of The Moon in its entirety. It was that moment in life when I realized things could be great and spectacular. David's guitar solo at the end of this is great and spectacular.
What makes the outro performance by Gilmour so emotional is the distortion he adds at the point the ball opens. Since, in a simplistic view, this song is about pain, his guitar sounds like it is wailing in pain and you can feel it to your core. I have a pet peeve about calling the outro a "solo" because the band never stops playing behind him. It keeps the soundfield of the song going and makes his performance better, fuller. Right down to the drummer crashing to announce the ball drop (You can see him looking up in anticipation). I also like that she mentions how he bends the strings. Could we call him a "Fender Bender"? I saw a quote from him, admitting to not being able to play super fast like EVH and others, so he developed his own style, and I think it's wonderful.
1994 i was there at earls court London to witness this, in my opinion the best Pink Floyd gig they ever did from the music to the lighting and special effects the sound was awsome and i will never ever forget this Gig. I've been to see Floyd six times over the years from 1975 wish you were here tour, the wall twice 1980 and 81, late 80s the delicate sound of thunder tour twice including Wembley stadium, and lastly this one which was recorded and filmed for P. U. L. S.E..... I'm now 68yrs old and still watching and remembering this awsome show. It's great to see youngsters like you both doing this and hope you do much more Floyd in the future take care from England UK.
With the exception of 1975 I've been to exactly the same shows/years as you here in the UK. What an incredible time to have been around.
@VickersDoorter what a shame you missed the 1975 Knebworth gig, that was the only time i saw them perform Echoes, i missed the Animals tour i had tickets but was very ill at the time and couldn't go. I wish it was possible to travel back in time to relive all those concerts great times back then.
I will never get tired of hearing this version of this song. Masterpiece. Add in to that the light show and it goes to another level. So beautifully choreographed with the music, the dark (second) solo tells a story, it's the drifting down with the doctor's injection to start, the near submission when the lights go out and the disco ball gets lit up, deciding to fight when the siren guitar notes start, running through to finally winning the fight by the end.
I've been on this pink floyd journey of musical extacy for over fifty years and take from me you will never get tired of listening to them I'm 75 years young and love all types of music but pink floyd are the ultimate there is no one out you could possibly compare them to great reaction loved it

The people who saw that live had a life changing experience. Listening to this concert in particular with an excellent set of headphones further enhances the recording. I can only imagine how it was live.
Thanks for not pausing the solo! I just flew from Canada to London to see David perform and although he's obviously getting old, he's 78 now, he still killed it. I was too young to see Pink Floyd live, but to be able to see David perform the second solo to Comfortably Numb live was truly a dream come true.

I was fortunate enough to see this Pulse concert at an arena in New Jersey and I was in awe of the scale of the event. I was seated in the center rear upper levels which was above the multi level (I think 4 stories) of scaffolding that was built for the techs who controlled the computers for the lasers. There was also mixing boards at a lower level. No other concert I have ever been to came close to this PF show. It just kept getting more and more incredible!! All these years later, I still get emotional seeing and listening to this performance!
I’m incredibly new to Pink Floyd and had only ever heard Another Brick In The Wall growing up. Courtesy of another reaction channel this performance was the first PF song I’d ever sat down and properly listened to with headphones. Needless to say I was absolutely blown away and it sat with me for weeks, partly due to playing it over and over again. I still haven’t heard all that many songs yet, but I keep getting drawn back into this one, although it has been marginally surpassed by High Hopes from this same concert. Also Echoes live from Pompeii is another one that touches me deeply. I finally get all the love for PF!!!
Had the opportunity to see this concert at the Oakland Coliseum.
We were center on the top deck. Before the concert started, the tour people came up to us and asked if we wanted to sit closer to the stage, because the finale for this song would block our view. We stayed were we where, and glad we did.
We had a clear view of the entire light show. Such an epic night. Been to many concerts, but this show was just special in so many ways.
I was at Earls Court for 3 concerts at the end of the Pulse tour, including the night they filmed the concert. I’m so glad that the video exists, and I enjoy the reactions of Pink Floyd videos. ❤
The ball was mostly hidden during the concert with a black curtain, but you could see it from below if you looked for it.

I absolutely love how the first solo is always played with the original notes, as if it was a piece of Classical music. You play the first solo as written, note-for-note to honor the composer. No other notes would fit here. The second solo is the one that is open to artist interpretation and improvisation. Perfect.

I saw them live in '94' at the Oakland Coliseum. We had reserved seating on the lawn with a Pink Floyd Seat Cushion. It was an amazing display of talented musicians and lighting experts When they played this song and David started his second lead, that 10' Disco ball comes down like a UFO checking out the music. The lasers started hitting that disco ball and the entire placed looked like a flowing liquid plasma circling the stadium. Goosebumps for around 3 hours. Shedmen 56

I'm 68 and I was there. It was the ultimate gig. It still brings tears of joy watching the video as a reminder. So glad to see new generations, including my kids and grandchildren, loving this music. I wish you all could have been there (sic).

The bass players name is Guy Pratt, I’m not sure when he started with David but I know he was with the 1988 tour and is still playing with David in the current tour “Luck and Strange”
Fun fact: Dany from “the warning” said that watching this song live with her father when she was a little girl, blew her mind, she knew at that moment, she wanted to be a rock star. Pink Floyd has inspired so many good artists, “Soda Stereo” also has a lot of Pink Floyd influence in their music.

I was there, it took me ages to get tickets ... long before online bookings!! It was without doubt the best thing I've ever seen, listened and experienced in my life. Breathtaking! It's not till years later you wish you could go back in time and do it all again ! At least i kept the tickets safe and still have them all these years later! I remember listening to the solo and the glitter ball, it was like it was snowing with glimpses of astonished faces in the light! Just brilliant.

I was lucky enough to see this concert live twice in 1994...once at Vanderbilt Stadium in Nashville, TN and again at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. I still have yet to see a show that matches this concert. One fan came out of the Nashville show afterward and said "Boy, I thought I'd seen a concert before!". The whole thing was jaw dropping.
