    How to treat skin pores - they're so tiny, they shouldn't be that visible, right? Some of us have noticeable pores, and you will be searching for a solution. Try these methods before seeing a laser dermatologist as they may help reduce the size of pores to make them less obvious.
    1.Clean you face twice a day. When dead skin cells accumulate on the surface of your pores, they expand and appear larger. So, it's important to always wash your face with a gentle cleanser, if you can tolerate 2% sal. Acid wash by Neutrogena - this is Dr Davin Lim’s personal recommendation.
    2. Before you put on your foundation, use a primer. Yes, you can camouflage their appearance with makeup. The use of blurring techniques by professional make up artists can help with small to medium large pores.
    3. Be gentle with your skin.
    Aggressive cleansing, exfoliating, and skin picking can cause wrinkles and lead to worsened acne, but going too rough on your skin can also damage your pores. Be gentle so you don't expand your pores, which you can do permanently. Avoid squeezing blackheads and zits- this is the number one cause of open pores on the nose.
    4. Get a Hydrafacial monthly
    Hydrafacial treatments offer professional extraction and exfoliation and most importantly can infuse your skin with chemical peels and collagen building HA molecules. Video already done by Dr Davin Lim on Hydrafacial.
    5. Exfoliate regularly but gently
    While keeping your face clean is so important, it's the act of getting rid of dead skin cells that really keeps your complexion looking its best. Exfoliation can be achieved in a number of ways, both physical and chemical. Dr Davin Lim recommends the Clarisonic as a physical method of exfoliation, and either AHA or high strength vitamin A as a chemical exfoliation agent.
    6. Keep your skin extra hydrated.
    The use of a hydrating serum before putting on moisturizer can shrink your pores by plumping up the surrounding skin. Loreal makes some products with HA based hydrating agents.
    7. Add skin vitamins to your skincare routine.
    Using a prescription-strength topical retinoid, such as Retin-A, or super strength retinol can increase cell turnover, thus exfoliating the pore and making them appear smaller.
    8. Don't skip your moisturizers
    You already know lots of bad stuff can happen if you stop moisturizing, and enlarged pores are just another one. It's important to use a high-quality, noncomedogenic moisturizer twice a day- my choice? La Roche Posay.
    9. Use sunscreen twice a day
    You've heard it once, you've heard it a thousand times, but that's because it's totally true: SPF is an integral part of your skincare routine. UV radiation breaks down collagen and elastin, thus expanding the pore. SPF 50 for Brisbane’s high UV index, twice a day- rain, hail or shine. Just do it!
    10. Consult a laser dermatologist for options.
    That's right: Lasers can help reduce your actual pore size. I consider your skin type-Ethnic skin colour, as well as your pore size to come up with a solution. Sometimes its lasers such as Fraxel, other times it's a TCA CROSS treatment. All treatments are tailored. Some patients require one treatment, others a series of sessions.
    For a FREE Consult on skin pores, my senior laser nurses at The Fiori Institute of Skin and Body in Chermside and Garden City Westfield can assess your skin for Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant or other solutions such as creams and skin care. Thanks for watching this video, and see you next Saturday.

    If I were a dermatologist, I’d just stay in the office and give myself expensive treatments all the time. Probably best I’m not one 😂

      Dont have to be a dermatologist to do that. I am not, and i do botox, meso, threads, microneedling, prp, fatdissolver and much more. I dont do filler because of the risk of vascular occlusion. The things I do I only do after months and months of research. I order my products from Korea. They are not FDA approved but KFDA approved, and they are actual more strict than FDA. I could never afford any treatments in office, and I think its really unfair that only «rich» people can get to keep and maintain their looks. I buy 100 units of botulinum toxins for 60-100 $.

      @@liset4081 well that is so interesting yet amazing, after all we can also do a lot when we get over the fear mongering about doing anything by ourselves. I've started my microneedling of course after quite a bit of research, it was hard to break the fear barrier in the beginning but it is going incredibly good on my acne scars.

      @@shawsays3258 That is great, I am so happy for you😀 Microneedling is great for acne scars, and producing that golden collagen! And to think that one micro needle session often costs over 100 usd in office, that’s crazy!

      @@shawsays3258 I know, that is facts! They shouldnt be allowed to take those high payments. If you would like to do more in the future I can recommend a shop called acecosm.com its a korean company that sells skin boosters (meso), threads, botox and a lot more, I think they are the cheapest, the customer service is amazing and the shipping is so fast, less than a week from Korea to Norway where I live. I have ordered from them many many times.

    Before we fly over to see you, in your opinion does EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) of high percentage going to help with rebuilding collagen and improving the look of texture and reducing pores size? I am considering products from Swanicoco with 99% 1 ppm of raw ingredients of EFG. And there is another product with FGF( polypeptide) to help improve the skin by stimulating the fibroblasts? And what about stem cells?

      Does it penetrated the basement membrane? If so, it may work. Lots of un proven stuff out there. Davin Lim

    hello doctor I love your channel, which is the best laser for the pores? is the fotona laser good?

    • @drdavinlim
      @drdavinlim  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the size of pores. The MOST important aspect is the operator, namely a Specialist rather than a GP ... or nurse. No disrespect to them but we have a little more training in skin. All the best, Dr Davin S. Lim, Brisbane Dermatologist. Australia.

    Im sure these methods helps some, but its very obvious some of the before pics are closer up than the afters. I have used the tca peels and they are wonderful!

    • @drdavinlim
      @drdavinlim  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I do use TCA peels, and I love them. ... each to their own. I think TCA is under rated, if you see my before and after TCA, they are great... just that everyone wants a LASER... Dr Davin Lim. Brisbane dermatology. Australia.

    Hello doctor, can open pores be treated by applying tretinoin.

  • @zubiaparveen7219

    I am 20 years old I developed open pores and rosacea since I moved to an area where there is very low temperature with a lot of cold winds now my skin looks very bad with very prominent large pores on my central face but I also have redness
    My question is would these office treatments worsen my rosacea ??? I read on some resources that as rosacea patients already have very sensitive skin so these procedures will worsen the condition of rosacea??
