  • Truck art in Pakistan has its origins dating back to the 1920s, when Bedford trucks imported from England took over the country’s streets. Companies would decorate their trucks with their logos, which helped illiterate working-class laborers to identify them. These Bedford trucks came to dominate Pakistan’s roads.

The ornate art is more than just cultural expression - it’s also a deeply rooted tradition that can cause a business boom for drivers. The more elaborate the design, the better the business.
Artists, like Haider Ali, paint a range of scenes and objects, from vivid mountain valleys to beautiful portrayals of animals and flowers. Some prefer spiritual symbols of power, or even lines from poems. While the truck owners contribute to the concept, the artist and the depths of their imagination have the final say.

Me too, when my dad didn't have the magazine, I did every since I can remember, popular mechanics and popular science! I loved the projects they showcased every month, my dad built a garden tractor, power pup, go carts, log loader and farm equipment inspired by the monthly projects, didn't hurt he was a welder, machinist and mechanic among other trades!!!!!!!

The narrator sounds like someone doing a bad fake British accent.

El video es excelente, pero no encaja con Mecánica Popular semejante imitación... Los que toman decisiones no parecen entender la importancia histórica de MP

You do realize on every one of those busses is a homeless orphan working and being molested for and by the owner. This is a gross romanticized look on this cultural blindspot.

Not everything can be about social iniquity. Sometimes it's good to enjoy painted trucks
