Good to know mikes story because he does a great job of letting all the other OGs of Chinatown tell their stories that we don’t really hear much of his story so this is great.
Great interview. Can't wait for his book and the documentary to come out. I grew up in NYC (80s) and was involved with another group in Chinatown. I left for the Air Force in 1985 to get away from that environment. The subsequent years after 85 was everything Mike and his channel talks about. I would get the phone calls from my friends back in NY and they would say this happened and that shooting happened. So over the years, I would hear the headlines but not much details. As years passed, I would come across news articles of those incidents and I would know what facts they got right and what they got wrong. Was really glad I left that Chinatown environment when I did. Now I look forward to hearing the details about all these stories. Thank you for this video. Very insightful.
A tip for you hosts : try not to interrupt your guest when he/she is telling their story.. question them afterwards.. and try to remember what they are saying so you dont end up interrupting by asking something they already told you.. :) Because you interrupted him alot of times asking something that he said already.. It is way more exciting and thrilling when the guest tells their story without interruption
