By far this is one of the best episodes, its like a "History of Tung On 101" class. Like those who understand cantonese, listening to him speak in regular cantonese sounds more authentic and natural. Looking forward to more vids like this from other speakers.

It’s really informative, I grew up knowing the names because my parents would talk about them from the news papers and never let me walk down there but seeing the faces really changes everything. It’s sad to see the pain in Bigheads eyes when he recalls the decline and eventual end to everything.

Can I make a suggestion? for videos that cover a specific gang or topic can we do a quick 1 min intro before going into the stories? example if this video is about Tung On, maybe give a brief 1 min overview of who the Tung On are, what era and what is Big heads role. Some of the viewers, myself included are new to these names.

Love this video! And especially the fact that it is in Cantonese, I had no issue reading the subtitles! I have a question....as far as the Chinese gangs in NYC during the 80s and 90s, it seems to me (I'm an 80s baby and grew up in Flushing and Bayside in the 90s) that they were dominated by Chinese from Hong Kong and Cantonese was the dominant spoken language among gang members. Excluding the Vietnamese and Korean gangs, all of the guys I knew associated with the Chinese gangs, they were either born in Hong Kong or their parent's immigrated here from Hong Kong and they all spoke Cantonese mainly. I knew there were some Fukienese gangs but to my experience I haven't really seen Chinese gangs filled with people who spoke the main Mandarin language. By and large the Chinese gangs were dominated by people from Hong Kong. Is this a fair and true statement?

Yes, please ask him on our next LIVE. He would trade Cocaine for Heroin during that era. High demand for coke in HK but not so for heroin.

Does your Dai Lo knows that you left and become a cop and if he knows would he be upset that you decided to become a cop and what happens if your unit ask you to go back to the gangs to be an undercover for them. How would you protect yourself from being undercover?

I know a friend of mine was NYPD, he transferred undercover to work with the fed. He infiltrated the Taiwanese gang back in the 80"s-90s. Many gang members knew him doing undercover.
