I live in California near the LA area and went back to my hometown (Philadelphia Pennsylvania) for vacation to visit family, and in my spare time I would log onto wifi or even occasionally cellular data to play and it worked pretty much flawlessly! It was very handy for times I was just bored sitting around doing nothing. My friend who was back at the house taking care of the house and pets for me would watch me play on the TV and was blown away by it and asked me question about it like how well it worked and if there was any lag. And surprisingly there was not much lag unless my internet connection was bad

I've tried to play through wifi connection outside of my house. is there a specific way to set it up?
@@JayMuggah88 I think you’re just supposed to link your PS4 to your device while you’re still at home on the same wifi network, and then after that it should let you use any wifi connection or even your cellular data (if you have the cellular data option turned on in settings). And sometimes it gets unlinked, and you have to re-link it. So if I’m going out of town or something I always try to make sure it’s linked before I go. And I think you just hit the link button and it does it automatically, or if you want I think you can manually enter the code from your PS4 in the PS4 settings in the remote play section.
@@criticalkids it didnt work for me on Wifi or my cellular outside the house. I will try to find a stronger connection, but tbh I have an older phone. Maybe something newer will work
@@JayMuggah88 Well first make sure you have mobile data enabled in the settings of the Remote Play app on your phone, and if you do then yeah it was probably your connection. A lot of times it won’t work very well or at all if you don’t have a good connection, or it’ll take forever to load

@@1gta4gta its not about bandwidth it's about latency. I can't remote play from a pc that's wired to the ps4 because it feels sluggish, any kind of a distance on top of that and it's unplayable.

DeniD boy yes there is a way, when you leave you’re ps4 DONT SHUT IT DOWN, set it to rest mode so it stays connected to the internet and it’s off at the same time and whenever you wanna play you go on the remote play app and it will wirelessly turn on the ps4

BoogGang once you properly link your phone to your PS4 you can use it anywhere as long as you have a strong enough connection. I live in Australia and recently took a trip to California to visit family and it definitely worked.

@@redcartiers you can Bluetooth a PS4 controller to your PS Vita. There's even PS4 controller ps Vita mounts to mount your Vita to your controller
My aunt has one but Ai don't wanna if with thier vita. Seems like a horrible purchase. I'd rather save my money for something important because my income is low and I can't get too much junk. Not getting a job right now because I'm struggling in bio and need the time to study

And if your into the Custom firmware and Homebrew scene, you can play any retro game on the Vita, remote play with PS3 and play any PS3 games on the go. And if you jailbreak your PS3 even remote play ps1 and ps2 games on the Vita, of course you need 100+ Mbps internet with wired connection and the Vita has to be on any other good wifi to get good remote play results, for anyone really into gaming on the go, it's a great purchase

What the PS Vita should have been capable of.
Vita did the same. But there was not R2 or L2 triggers and it disconnected a lot. I had a controller grip that gave the buttons but it didn’t feel the same so I got rid of it after a while.
I rarely even seen the ps Vita, I want one but itself and it's games are hard to find.

Turn on your bluetooth, hold the Share and PS button on the controller to turn on sync and BOOM. You're able to find the controller

You can't have the PS4 "Shut Down" but if you leave the PS4 in Rest Mode it CAN be woken up remotely by phone... You have to go into your PS4 settings and make sure you have "Allow the PS4 to wake from rest mode remotely" option checked
But how do you leave it in rest mode while using the app? I’ve been having trouble with that and everything is enabled and my account is active as my primary, because when I put it in rest mode from my IPhone it automatically loses connection.

Y it connected to ur brothers is most likely because ur psn is active primary on his console, either for sharing your ps plus or sharing your games but yeah when you initially sign in with the automatic it finds the PlayStation your accounts active primary on and this happens no matter what WiFi ur on. Remote play just need an active WiFi to connect for some odd reason and it doesn’t have to be the net your ps4 is on, in fact your ps4 doesn’t even have to be on WiFi you can use an Ethernet connection and it will still work but always safe to register your remote play to your console manually anyways as you add it as a new remote play device in your consoles remote play setting on your consoles settings. Also would be good since your in your console settings to find and check the box that allows your remote play device to power on your console when it connects. That way you can power down and/or rest mode your console when your done playing to save from getting hit from long exstended use.
