You should keep us updated on your hair growth again, and never judge your badass hair! It looked great, if anything I'd recommend a more straighter hair style to fit with your facial aesthetic, and a side part.

I'm aiming for about a foot of hair. Right now, I actually have a mullet so I already have about 6 inches in the back and about 3 in the front. I'm guessing that by the end of 2015, I will have reached my goal.
I've observed that if a guy grows out his hair and then cuts it, most often because he wants to start over, he can never again recover that length. Societal pressure is too great. This guy went a longer time than most the second time around, but even he couldn't pull it off.

Too short or not short enough. Perhaps too short because your long hair was great. But perhaps not enough, because you would look more handsome and more manly with a really short hairstyle (for example : a flattop with faded back and sides).

Long hair can be great on anyone as long as they take care of it. I'm growing mine out to shoulder length. There is going to be some rough days but you must be strong.
