Been watching your videos for months now, I'm a driving instructor and for a cabbie you certainly know a fair bit. You're a great example of a cab driver. Once I've had a hard day on the road with my learners I use your videos to unwind and have a giggle. Please keep doing what you're doing don't censor yourself and be all PC and stuff.

I think the woman driving the blue Audi might have been trying to intimidate you into pulling forward into the box junction so she could make that left turn. Full marks for resisting, but I wonder how many drivers would have risked Fines & Points and moved.

Saw a delivery driver on a scooter today driving along holding the throttle with his elbow while using mobile
Entertaining yet still demonstrates the hazards of being forced to share the roads with those who couldn't be trusted to steer a pram let alone a car. Cheers.
The trouble with Selsdon is that left hand lane is frequently gridlocked with people queuing to turn left into Sainbury's. Right hand lane for straight ahead, overtake the queue of shoppers, slide left as you exit the junction. Job's a goodun.
Honestly don't see the issue with this kind of "queue jumping" if you know the roads well enough, There's a 40-road near mine that goes past a police station, so everyone drives 30 on it for no reason. I pop into the right lane while it still has go-ahead arrows, get past everybody at 40, then pop back into the left before it switches to right-turn only. Or a roundabout with 2-lane entry, 1 lane exit. Everyone stays in the left lane to go straight ahead for no reason. Pop into the right lane, which also has go-ahead arrows, and get past about fifteen cars. It's not even about wanting to be ahead, it's just like. . . I can use this lane, so I will.

That lane after the lights by Selsdon Sainsburys is just terrible road markings. It should be a merge in turn then filter to right. This would save so many ego clashes and avoid non-locals getting into strife.
16:07 that's just an everyday occurrence. Many drivers, young and old, male and female, can't judge gaps well. It's a probem amplified massively when people drop off or pick up kids from school. I would always proceed realy cautiously in that situation, especially when the parked cars are on your side of the road.
I was taught where the tires were on my car. That made it easy to know how much space you had in these situations. Guess that's not taught anymore.

yeah i would have to say defo treat the junction itself as like a merge in turn for traffic thats going ahead at the next junction, if your turning right then obviously stick in the right hand lane, i've got a similar road set up here where i live in Perth and honestly just treating like a merge in turn at the junction prior helps keep the queue shorter so it doesn't clog up too much a junction behind. its one of those awkward ones where there is no right answer
but thats only if its really busy, if its quite quiet then treat that straight ahead as if it were just an extension of the right only after it.
@@Rybo-Senpai But if you are not from that area how would you know it turns into a right-only lane ? You wouldn't because there is no warning... Also, the lane continues after the right arrow, there are no chevrons, so that lane continues forward - It's a merge in turn no matter the level of traffic. For some reason people in this country like to queue for no reason.

That van going up the wrong side at the crossing would be classed as dangerous driving over here in Ireland and they would get 12 points on their licence and a year off the road.
Traffic flow only becomes a mockery when those involved want to take priority rather than give priority. It's all a matter of attitude and whether the idiot who gets it wrong really matters; it's never makes a massive difference to your journey if you give them the room to be stupid.

The answer to most of your questions is "I'm more important than you". Thats why they queue jump, skip/go through lights, don't give other road users enough space.

Berk in a Merc always cracks me up. Need to add Brainless in a Beemer for the BMW drivers. Always the audacious Audi drivers and mucked up Mini drivers. I would have given the gliding cyclist on that small path a little horn - what a numpty!
The blue Audi, if you look at the bonnet it is already carrying the battle scares of an accident, only a small dent I will give you that, but it carries through the alloy grill surround and into the lower lip of the bumper, so she has obviously hit something ( a rear ender maybe or a parking bollard) so a driver to avoid

1:04 it is soo easy to stop at the "correct" line at the traffic lights, but oh no, not for some. do you know why...they dont want anyone else to get in front of them. So in their head, if they jump the light as it flickers to amber and theyre over the line; they will remain ahead. And as we saw, she did by also cutting you up. Also what they do, if coming to a red light, they will choose the free side and cut you up anyway.

Where you have the . Instead add this symbol (like what a digital clock would read like) : So it would read "2:26" (obviously without the quotation marks). Hope that helps. Also when you are making a comment, if the video is playing, on the far right of the comment box TH-cam added a time stamp feature, and turns the timestamp blue in your comment, makes it a little easier. @03:45 I always wonder here where you're meant to be if you want to go down lane you went. I always start in the right lane because the left and middle lane connect to the 2 left turn lanes on the other side. Which would mean you started in the wrong lane yourself

With regard to the scooter rider, (not a motorbike), I'll give my thoughts from a New Zealand perspective. First while I would filter, I wouldn't do so if the traffic is move at or close to the speed limit, and with care if the traffic is slow. You are only permitted to use the flush medium if you are turning right and then only if it is safe to do so.
Is dash cam footage of an offence permissible for a prosecution ?
Only if you submit it to the police and they feel that prosecution is necessary and justified, I've submitted a couple to the police that have resulted in prosecution

In one clip sat at red Lights with all the cyclists jumping on the kerb to avoid the red lights I was surprised you didn't mention the fire engine that went through the red light with its sirens blaring but went straight through without any caution, aren't emergency vehicles supposed to slow down to 5mph and make sure there is nothing coming through the junction to avoid a collision

In the clip starting at 0:50 the right hand lane should be marked for right turns only. I live in London (just) and know most of the places you feature. But I don't know *that* one. Therefore, being unfamiliar with it, I would likely use either lane the first time I went through that junction as, I suggest, would many strangers. The fault is with the highways authorities for not taking that into account when laying down the markings.

Because he is allowed to and he chose to.
Rule H2 "Pedestrians may use any part of the road and use cycle tracks as well as the pavement, unless there are signs prohibiting pedestrians." The road after all is a pedestrian right of way.
@@ditch3827 This is an A-road. It has double red lines. As well as he is about to walk into a bus stop. And those are the rules for when is there is no pavement for any pedestrians. Here, there is specifically a PROTECTED concrete rail for people to walk inside of.
For the safety of himself and drivers, he just should be walking on the inside of the barrier.
@@SpahGaming As long as it is not a motorway then he is perfectly entitled to walk on the carriageway - it is his right to do so. It is the responsibility of drivers to avoid hitting him or indeed any other road user. The law is quite clear on this. Rule H2 applies to all roads unless there are signs prohibiting pedestrians as there are on motorways. It matters not a jot whether there is a pavement or not. The road, all of it, is a pedestrian right of way and as such pedestrians are permitted to use them, in any lane and in any direction
Behind the cyclist on the phone, I would have for sure gave a short blip (as I have an EV too) so maybe didn't hear me. The blip is make them aware of my prescence, not malicious of course before anyone says

10:55 He doesn't avoid the traffic light by riding (illegally) on the pavement. The pavement is part of the road and the lights still apply to him.

id say letting that van cut across at 04:07 was the wrong thing to do. that type of driving should not be tolerated and you should hold position and force them to carry on with their mistake.

Exactly. He was the one straddling the centre markings not the oncoming car. It was for him to stop not and to try and force the oncoming vehicle into the kerbside.

The so called motorbike 6.00 , it was a learner scooter , i am a biker and a driver so take offence at the way you tar all bikers with the same brush. One thing you guys need to understand is that we are allowed by law to filter pass traffic at a reasonable and safe speed, obviously the scooter was a prat.

You may to look again at 6:50, the little yellow car was in a lane for straight on so how did it queue jump?
It cut right across me because her lane turns left and she wanted to go straight on, she knew that but didn't want to wait in the queue that's queue jumping in my book.
@@thelondondashcam The lane marking the yellow car was in was for straight ahead, no left arrow. Yes the car moved in front of you after the light but you just made it sound as she did something wrong. If you were going a little slower then it’s perfectly okay to get ahead, it’s actually taught in the road craft advanced driving course.
She accelerated aggressively to get in front of me, She couldn’t see the sign that said her lane was a left turn only lane so she knew exactly what she was doing to get in front of me, and in doing so didn’t leave me a great deal of breaking distance neither. To race to get in front In my book is aggressive driving.

2:10 what is the problem? He is using the second lane and is just a bit faster. I wish more people would use the second lane because that makes traffic lights way more efficient instead of everyone just slowly accelerating in 1 lane. No unsafe or rude behaviour there.

14:17 my next possible car if i go modern route has buttons down right side of the wheel, lane thing and esp and few other things but only takes a quick glance anything more than that you looking at something. my next car if i go for very top spec but still small same engine my current car basally newer version same car what pretty basic but the next one it has buttons for everything like heated seats, heated searing wheel, parking sensors, lane assist a from heat / defrost endless buttons but even tho it be a 2015/16 sorta age to stay with £35 tax for now and euro 6 it still has a key to start up i like that and real handbrake and real spare tyre not a daft fix kit. so its a modern small light weight fun city car with a lot kit so much kit that premium car spec or totally the other way a kei 4 seat van whats half classic age it even requires a key to open the door but it dose have aircon despite it age so that a plus totally the other end it has very little buttons so one makes driving easy or one i turn in to a day camper and rest anywhere i can park but it dose have top speed of 74 mph and cruising speed of 5-60 mph but closer to 50 as 60 you be at 6500rpm so its working hard but a really fun sound. with all these daft limits im more tempted to go for slower van a japan import it makes a fun noise and it prob never get me a speed ticket and most driving is on back roads so i may just go old car way that modern route it all depends what spec i feel of newer version my current car is on sale and how far

What did the learner rider do wrong at 5:49? He was just filtering past slow moving traffic. Perfectly legal to pass on a dashed line. Maybe a touch over the speed limit but nothing too excessive. Or was it a 20mph? He'll learn in time.

That "police " car is not a police car, it's a VOSA unit, they have no powers to enforce law unless it is road related unfit for use laws, like towing without extra wide mirrors, overloaded goods vehicles, and vehicles in general they deem to be unfit to be on the road, the markings are far different than Police cars as they are Black and Yellow as opposed to the Polices Blue and Yellow, and Ambulance cars being Green on yellow, so no he wouldn't have stopped the Berk in the Merc for being on their phone, as it is outside their powers

These idiots who break the speed limit don't seem to understand, traffic lights are designed to slow you down and manage TRAFFIC. It's in the bloody name! Every time I see cars driving super fast, they end up at the same lights as everyone else anyway, so what the heck is the point? You're just giving yourself less time to react, less braking distance and more chances that if something happens in a PEDESTRIANISED AREA you will cause an accident. It's 20mph or 30mph in built up areas for a bloody reason folks!

11:45 In law someone walking a bicycle is a pedestrian and as such has priority over you in that situation. The responsibility for avoiding a collision rest solely on you the driver. Pedestrians and cyclists are permitted to use mobile phones if they choose to. When the cyclist mounts and becomes a cyclist then he is a vehicle and has priority over you by virtue of being in front and you just have to be patient. But given the 5mph speed limit is is doubtful that you could have gone any faster anyway if you had managed to overtake him with 1.5m clearance.
I think People who use their Phone while Driving should have their License Revoked for Three Years. That might teach them a lesson, I say might.
Most will then drive without a license.

@@terryable-hh4ck Yep, as an instructor on the road 7 days a week i can confirm the stats. Worst drivers - van drivers, mostly white but not specifically. Next, BMW drivers, nearly always complete toss pots. Elderly drivers next, shouldn't be driving over the age of 75, a menace at best, lethal at worst. Any further questions?
