Have you been living in a cave the past few days? The A24 has been shut as the workers have been working like billy-o to get the diesel spill cleaned up and the road resurfaced in time for the M25 to be closed and rerouted onto the newly surfaced road. Don't moan about no diversions as they are reopening sections as quickly as possible. Just use your local lnowledge or satnav or follow the person in front :-)
What about those without local knowledge, Chessington is in this area and a lot of non-locals will have to use the local roads rather than the M25 and A3/A243 to get to the theme park as theu won't want to sit in the traffic on the these two roads. That's why diversions are needed otherwise they would never bother
I've not been working in that area for your few days so I wouldn't know that the road was closed and why not any diversions ? why would you say don't complain about diversions weird
Hi again, You do make me laugh about your observations. But mostly your right. About undertaking cyclists. It can be very unnerving to me as a cyclist to be turning right & a car undertakes me. When Im going slow, waiting for a gap in traffic I am inclined to wobble because of the slow speed. I would say to drivers just be aware when you do it. I personally wouldn't undertake.
00.44 you were crossing the A24, Northbound has been shut all week because of a Diesel spill. Closed from Capel to the M25. Can't believe you missed that mate, must have been away?
@@thelondondashcam Im sure you're right, to be fair they had just finished overnight resurfacing that part down to the M25 probably about to open it, may explain signage if just removed. Astounding if there had been no diversion all week. Id been avoiding it, happened to drive the other way the previous evening and saw the workmen. Really! You're so right about the unnecessary cones/lights everywhere, it's a joke.
@thelondondashcam I think the problem was they couldn't work out how to divert around the amount of road that's been closed. Considering how fast they are resurfacing 10 miles of road, it does bring the question of why does it take so long to get the sections with major pothole problems fixed?.
Audi at 06:07 - you can see the wheels are not yet turned when the fron of the vehicle is in line with the kerb. Then nowwhere near full lock ends up exactly as yo said, straddling the centre line. Roads closed because of diesel spill on a24 from capel to m25 ,happened on tuesday ,you should know this as you drive around here alot ,dorking and leatherhead affected .a24 closed both ways from thursday.
Totally agree with you on the last clip but the biker knows car turning left has to give way to him any accident is car drivers fault ,bloody stupid rule it shou be if vehicle is indicating do not overtake it
Love your videos! question not a complaint; it's mentioned that you're allowed to park on double yellows due to dropping off a passenger, but i was always told the highway code says don't park within 10m of a junction, and it looked like you was parked maybe 5m away from a junction, wouldn't that be why she beeped? (if i was here, i would of just over taken regardless, as the horn isn't helping anyone)
Stopping is not parking! Learn the difference! At least in London, per TFL's rules, private hire drivers are allowed to stop on double yellow lines, even double red lines, to pick up or drop off a passenger, but without blocking the road.
The reason I hesitating is because I've got a car on my right hand side that has priority over me that was hesitating, but does that stop her from going around the roundabout ?
2:20 - yeah you do have priority, so why did you hesitate and stop!? That inevitably made her think that you were letting her go.. And then you have the nerve to find her at fault when it's really your mistake! 🤡
Because I had a car to my right that obviously has priority over me but was hesitating, so do you think she took the roundabout correctly then going right over the top of it 🤔
You suppose to hazard lights not indicator . indicator for going right or left not keep indicator on while you park or dropping people off. so try it next time then no one horn you .
Agree. Hazzards are an indication htat you are stopped - for whatever reason - and are suddenly not going to take off. But of course we are discussing driving so nothing is THAT obvious. Caution required.
Bit of a 💩 fest really on that roundabout. You was hesitant (possibly waiting to see what others were doing to your right) so the other driver went for it. Had they used the roundabout properly instead of panic accelerating straight over the top there wouldn’t have been any issue there with them pulling out at the same time as you (ooo-matron!)
Aldi Drivers often wonder why some other cars have orange flashing lights, something else they don't understand like giving way. I remember the 2 second rule, mind I'm so old I remember Reginald Molehusband!

If YOU are parked illegally and holding up traffic YOU are responsible NO other driver has to “go around YOU”
I pulled far enough forward so people can get around me on purpose but because she cannot take a corner without using both lanes and then gets too close behind me she expects me to move, she's got no authority to ask me to move no matter what I'm doing. What happens if there was a parked car there or roadworks would she use the horn on that to get someone to move the roadworks.

At 1.12. can't understand why people who live on busy roads do not reverse their onto their properties. Same with car parks. Would make things much safer especially with low visibility. Frightens the hell out of me as they appear to give no regard to oncoming motorists. Reversing cars also have a greater safety obligation. May be the Merc driver at 2.50 was in a hurry because his mistress's husband was due home very soon.
I also remember Greame Cole who played PC Tony Stamp on the Bill doing the two second rhyme in a PSA film, and why have so many people not know about road manners, Manners cost nothing, but can mean so much, I just don't get it.
Having watched many of Asley Neals videos, i can safely tell you that cyclist right at the very end of your video has the right to continue along and due to the new hierarchy rules the car is supposed to realise when turning left if a cyclist wishes to go straight on then he has to give way.
2:20 - You have to give way to pedestrians at roundabout exit junctions because pedestrians need to cross the whole road and not just half of it and then get stranded.
@@thelondondashcam There is a roundabout near a hospital on my commute and it's impossible to stop on the exit of a roundabout due to the excess of heavy traffic there. The issue is amplified due to the choke point of a left turning lane there which forks off pretty fast that can only accommodate one car as the straight on lane blocks the left turn. It's crazy how people think this rule is a one size fits all for all roundabouts and junctions.
Rear end accidents are very common on roundabouts, this rule makes them more common. Also, you are only supposed to do it if it is safe to do so i.e., no one 6 inches off your back bumper and since everyone follows too close to each other everywhere, especially on roundabouts, and lots of roundabouts are fast moving and can be very busy, it is very rarely safe to stop on leaving a roundabout unless in heavy traffic when everyone is slow anyway.
@@thelondondashcam Road safety has improved since the rule was introduce. Pedestrians have always need to cross the road at roundabouts. The new rules have made it easier and safer for them to do so,
at 12:25 you correctly recognise that the cyclists did the right thing and stopped behind. But you moan about the cyclists in the next clip and I cannot see why at all. At 13:45 the cyclist joining is way ahead of you, is doing a decent speed and does not interfere with your progress at all. He correctly stays in his lane for a while just in case you make a lane change. He senses you are not going to, does a look back at 14:00 to see you are still holding back so then knows it is safe for him to go into the lane he wants. How you cannot see his unfold is beyond me and worrying. His riding was exemplary but for some reason you don't like it - very strange. And as for the passing of the cyclists coming up the the red light - it's a red light so it's obvious that they will be slowing down for it and hopefully coming to a stop so the 1.5 m distance is irrelevant. Again, how you cannot evaluate this yourself and make up your own reasoning yet need help from others is very worrying? - you drive for a living!!

How does it apply here? You’re talking about how many cars should be in the junction turning right? I always say if everyone did that if you ever had to turn right on a journey with any sort of queue it would take ages! Filter lights exist for a reason!
@@Batters56 I know what I’m talking about. 2 second, 2 car the common denominator is 2. The 3rd car might get stuck in the middle of traffic if the lights opposite turn green. I was taught the 2 car rule when I had lessons and I don’t think examiners would be happy either if that rule wasn’t followed during a test.
@@michellesimpson4364Even here though, where there isn’t a filter light, there do appear to be loops in the ground which probably hold the lights on red a little longer if cars are detected. If we’re all talking best flow, how is it best flow if only two cars can ever turn right per traffic light sequence? It’s a 1950s approach to traffic lights which are marginally more sophisticated than that!

I still can't believe I'm still getting people saying if you're on the roundabout first you have priority, and then they even say it says it in the highway code. I've done videos just on roundabouts explaining why this isn't correct showing them the highway code rules and still they don't get it.🫣
@@thelondondashcam If another driver is already on the RAB - even if not adhering to the Highway Code rules - It would be prudent to let them continue. Sometimes common sense and survival trump the rules. Sadly, that is the modern motoring world.
@@thelondondashcam You did a video a few months ago solely on the encounter you had with a car on a roundabout near Leatherhead. 75% of the people responding disagreed with you, including Ashley Neal. A lot of people are not saying that there is not a case of priority to the right or that there is a first come first served rule, but you have to drive to situations that exist, not what you want them to be. And a lot of people commented, quite rightly, that you created confusion in the driver to your left by waiting a long time to emerge. And quoting Highway Code rules on roundabouts is fine but the rule you often forget, and never really consider, is the preamble to rule 103 "The rules in The Highway Code do not give you the right of way in any circumstance, but they advise you when you should give way to others.
3:17 - that's a rubbish car wax, doesn't mention BMW's and they are the most entitled.
There's also a spray version, I apply that to my beemer.
my mate has got a Audi he took it to the garage coz there was a light flashing on the dashboard
Split sides here.
Oooo, little andy rises
Hi again, You do make me laugh about your observations. But mostly your right. About undertaking cyclists. It can be very unnerving to me as a cyclist to be turning right & a car undertakes me. When Im going slow, waiting for a gap in traffic I am inclined to wobble because of the slow speed. I would say to drivers just be aware when you do it. I personally wouldn't undertake.
At 5:23, i would have put my hazard flashers on to indicate that i didnt intend to move. If the woman couldn't understand that, she should give up!!
To be honest either signal says I want to stay where I am.
00.44 you were crossing the A24, Northbound has been shut all week because of a Diesel spill. Closed from Capel to the M25. Can't believe you missed that mate, must have been away?
All week !!! and there are still no diversion signs.
God knows waht would have happened if the white car was 5 seconds earlier.
Shocking driving - but a nice car though - shame she can't handle it
Roads closed because of diesel spill on a24 from capel to m25 ,happened on tuesday ,you should know this as you drive around here alot ,dorking and leatherhead affected .a24 closed both ways from thursday.
So it's been closed for days I've not been up that way for days and yet still no diversion signs there, the Great British workforce
Totally agree with you on the last clip but the biker knows car turning left has to give way to him any accident is car drivers fault ,bloody stupid rule it shou be if vehicle is indicating do not overtake it
If the M25 is closed as from 9pm and that road was closed at 7:30am then surely that is an illegal road closure
The M25 was still open it's just that approach road was closed
😂😂😂@@thelondondashcam
Love your videos!
question not a complaint;
it's mentioned that you're allowed to park on double yellows due to dropping off a passenger, but i was always told the highway code says don't park within 10m of a junction, and it looked like you was parked maybe 5m away from a junction, wouldn't that be why she beeped?
(if i was here, i would of just over taken regardless, as the horn isn't helping anyone)
Stopping is not parking! Learn the difference! At least in London, per TFL's rules, private hire drivers are allowed to stop on double yellow lines, even double red lines, to pick up or drop off a passenger, but without blocking the road.
Maybe the self entitled driver should trim his own bushes instead of waiting for the Gardener to come and trim them for him
@2.20 that black car waited for you to go, but you hesitated.
Because I had a car to my right that obviously has priority over me but was hesitating, so do you think she took the roundabout correctly then going right over the top of it 🤔
10:08 you have not noticed all the unnecessary pile of cones blocking the bus stop, have you?
Greetings from Casablanca ❤
I had a guy giving me the finger for driving at a temporary speed limit.
Thank you
First clip The reason the A24 was closed at Leatherhead was the resurfacing because of the diesel spill this week. This was after the A25 was closed completely at Buckland for a week Local Chaos
I’m loving the wax award 😁
Not sticking up for her, but, Hazzards?
I get honked so much for nothing that I have gotten to the point of completly tuning it out of my mind, I just ignore them now doesn't even phase me.
If only LDC was so aware that is the way to act and react. Unfortunately his psyche is just tuned into aggressive reaction which must send his stress levels rocket high.
@@johncranna9427 You drive for 8+ hours a day and just see how well you get on with that reaction.
@xo2quilt And if you drive for that many hours then all the more reason to take a relaxed and patient attitude to driving.
@@johncranna9427 I used to get angry with idiots on the road, but now I pray for them and thank God for them slowing me down. I've actually had a couple of circumstances where being slowed down kept me from being involved in horrific accidents...either actually being part of the accident or witnessing it. You should refer to them as the British (Temporary) Light Force from now on. Calling them a "work" force is giving them far more credit than they deserve.

Yes, even when it's a Ford, Mazda, Toyota, Seat, Vauxhall or Honda, It is still an Audi.
YOU are parking on a double yellow mate….The Audi waited LONG enough for you to pull off after you dropped off your customer.
You should have pulled off as soon as you dropped off your customer, the Audi was patient enough waiting for YOU to move along ON A DOUBLE YELLOW LINE!!!! If YOU are parked illegally and holding up traffic YOU are responsible NO other driver has to “go around YOU”
@@myvoice7726 ha ha ha ha ha
I pulled far enough forward so people can get around me on purpose but because she cannot take a corner without using both lanes and then gets too close behind me she expects me to move, she's got no authority to ask me to move no matter what I'm doing. What happens if there was a parked car there or roadworks would she use the horn on that to get someone to move the roadworks.

The list grows Tony. I hope these don't drive
That meltdown 😂 you sound like me!!
I have to say that my boss drives a Bentley and a big old land rover and he's a really considerate driver. The exact opposite of what you'd expect from someone driving a £200k car, he doesn't suffer from any of this entitlement that's all the rage nowadays.
Question. Why would anyone driving an expensive car not be a considerate motorist?

You can park anywhere, as long as you have your hazards on!!

At 1.12. can't understand why people who live on busy roads do not reverse their onto their properties.
Our words for 21 and 22 are that long, saying them is really about 2s.🤣
I also remember Greame Cole who played PC Tony Stamp on the Bill doing the two second rhyme in a PSA film, and why have so many people not know about road manners, Manners cost nothing, but can mean so much, I just don't get it.
Tony Stamp is the reason I remember the 2 second rule :)
That does ring a bell with me too.
Having watched many of Asley Neals videos, i can safely tell you that cyclist right at the very end of your video has the right to continue along and due to the new hierarchy rules the car is supposed to realise when turning left if a cyclist wishes to go straight on then he has to give way.
Yes, but how many drivers actually check their mirrors when turning left from a standstill?
2:20 - You have to give way to pedestrians at roundabout exit junctions because pedestrians need to cross the whole road and not just half of it and then get stranded.
It's still a dangerous rule for me you see so many dash Cam channels with crashes on roundabouts now we've thrown pedestrians in the mix as well.
@@thelondondashcam
Its obvious to most of us Tony
The new rules have made it easier and safer for them to do so,
Didn't remember the advert but remember the rhyme
5:28-6:00 yodel territory! 😂
@5:40 😆
@12.30 REALLY annoys me when cyclists get THAT close to my car!
at 12:25 you correctly recognise that the cyclists did the right thing and stopped behind.
I too am an idiot 🧲. We play a wee game of how far can we drive before we find an idiot.. never very far. Scotland is absolutely full of them.. cheers 🍻

Does the 2 second rule apply on the motorway ?
It applies to every highway in the Kingdom.

Have you ever thought that the workforce, at 0:35 just do what they have been instructed to do by their managers? That road closure is NOT something that the workforce will decide to do off their own bat. There may well be safety reasons completely beyond your knowledge that have to be applied but you still have to have your moan directed to the people who are not responsible

08:17 have you heard of the 2 car rule?
It’s a 1950s approach to traffic lights which are marginally more sophisticated than that!
the last bike shot, Should bike riders give a car a 1.5m rule when under and over taking?????????

Did someone rewrite the Highway code and keep it secret?
Always give way if it can help to avoid an incident."
@@johncranna9427 Good post. Despite the Highway Code rules, roundabout behaviour has changed considerably in recent years. We have to be prepared for anything to happen as we approach or cross those give way lines.
The thing is which you are missing is that these people that are disagreeing with me here are actually saying it's a rule in The Highway Code that if you are on the roundabout first you have priority and that's wrong.
