I can see that if Annie hadn’t been burnt she would be really beautiful to natural standards. I think that she looks really beautiful even with her scars. Bless her 😍🥰
That is a risk of getting plastic surgery if you are insecure and do not like yourself. Many people who do like themselves, who are not insecure and get plastic surgery to improve a few things usually are very pleased with the results.
@@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 I feel like you can't have a wish to change something about your appearance unless your insecure about it. For example, older women may want to get a procedure to stay looking young. The issue is you're always going to find a new area of yourself that you don't like, I just dont see a healthy way around it. Except for people similar to Annie's case, who might want to go back to how they looked before an accident, and people born with issues that effect their health, it's just an all around negative choice.
@@MrTurtleThief I am not sure I agree with that. I see your logic though. I believe it is possible to love yourself and like your own body and still see room for improvement. Personally I have a slightly crooked jaw, square face shape and slightly recessed jaw. I had braces in my teens so my teeth are aligned and I do not experience any practical problems. I also don't think it is affecting my quality of life in a negative way, people in general are still nice to me and I haven't been bullied for it. I'm 34 and I found out I could get my jaw made more symetrical and more correctly positioned when I was 24. So for 10 years I have been saving money just in case I wanted it treated. If I don't get it done I will not be miserable. But I think it will improve the way I see my own face. I think it would be nice to look in the mirror and see a more symetrical face, and less square face shape will allow for more options with hair styles and glasses.
@@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 You know, I have a similar situation. I have huge overbite, and not only do I think it would improve my jawline, but it might even alleviate my sleep apnea (which I should really get checked out lol). I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't consider having my jaw realigned if possible, so I will soften my stance a little.
Super model she is not, but she certainly is not ugly or unattractive either. She looks unusual as did the Korean lady but not in any bad way, just unusual.
The korean girl is already so beautiful, it's so sad she think she is not pretty enough. If all people have same v-shape face, same nose shape, same eye shape, it gonna be so boring. No one has unique features. Everyone will look alike. Maybe it's only me but i found it is hard to distinguish korean celebrities
Annie, your expressions and personality are so beautiful! After a few minutes I didnt see scars, i saw a beautiful, sexy woman. Wishing you the very best!!
Asian parents hitting their children is common/normal. My parents did it. Everyone does it in asia. They just want what's best for you. A saying goes here, 'the person who scolds/beats you cares for you the most' Edit: since it's getting a little attention, id like to tell y'all that even parents feel guilty hitting their children and always come afterwards to hug you. So my parents hitting me definitely toughen me up.
@@poorvikasharma5112 yeah, i understand that, cuz i grew up getting whopped too. But it's just that the only people who stand by u, when the society is against u, be very strict makes me sad. Tho, i get their intentions.
Bts I grew up with Asian parents that hit me and I absolutely hated it. Still have major self esteem issues to this day. I don’t understand Asian parenting, sometimes it’s just an excuse for abuse
One thing I became proud of with my Korean heritage and dating Korean American men was our strong jaws. Seeing koreans thinking of that as a bad feature just baffles me.
there's something about Annie that makes her so beeautiful , she's graceful and has gorgeous eyes i don't really know what it is ,her mannerism? usually i find it hard to look into burnt people but not with Annie !
I love how she can say to the girl getting surgery to change her face ,”she’s beautiful , you don’t need it” . This woman can supportive and kind to others despite her own scars and pain. It takes a lot of courage to be so humble when you’ve been thru the pain she has , what an inspirational human❤️
If she had never gotten burned she would have had a model face, but that doesnt matter darling, because you have beauty in your eyes, hair, body, and heart!
No she didn't want to sharpen it, she wanted to change the shape of her jaw into a V shape, which is the standard in Korea, since her jaw had a square like shape
@Arieta I'm not reading all four replies. You could've just separated them in paragraphs. Also, you really felt the need to want me to be Japanese just so you would have some way to throw back to me the things I said. For the record, my name is in Chinese. You know, where most of Japanese kanji came from? Expand your worldview some time. Jesus, you really got triggered by that two-sentence comment. Take a chill pill.
Koreans still looking the same even without surgeries. Even the typical not good looking Koreans, and even the north Koreans lol... Don't generalized Korean celebrity dear... Fyi They have pre debut photos.
5:08 Her profile is so strikingly pretty here... it's such a shame to change that. So much of what makes a person's beauty stand out is how their features balance and work together, not how much they fit x, y or z standard. I wish more people understood that.
This is so true everyone ends up with the same face Sigh😒 By the way her confidence was 👏👌 And that girl who wanted her full jaw reconstructed YOU r already sooo. Beautiful
In a perfect world, they don't. There is no medical reason for an operation. But then again, we are humans, mean b1tches that judge each other instantly based on looks implicitly before we even get to know the person. Of course her personality shines trough when she speaks but not everybody gets to see that. Personally, I don't think they should, but I get why they would want to.
Ger Iarza I really disagree, standards of beauty are not inherently natural but shaped by socio-cultural factors like our upbringing. It’s the reason why white skin is preferred in some countries and darker skin in others. It also accounts for the different experiences Annie and the Korean girl with burns seem to have had. If we see more variety of looks in mainstream media, textbooks, etc eventually our standards will change (it already often happens when people migrate to a different country). In S Korea, media representations are particularly toxic, which coupled with a anti-individualistic mentality makes everyone wanna look the same.
That girl who said "same faces" gives me the korean vibes when i first started liking and loving korean films. That was highchool to college. Her charm and smile makes me feel young again. As in, teen young. I rewinded her many times. 😅😂
Zephyrr Sky So full of shit. Yes I agree it’s sad that humans judge by a persons looks but the cold hard truth is that its part of our dna. Looks matter in a civilized world especially in more upscale places.
Alex & Rah Try to at least know what you're talking about... they are not all trying to all look the same. i guess it's safe to say that they are ALL avoiding big and flat noses and square chins... and there u are with your ignorant conclusion
First time I saw Annie, I feel startled, I honestly am. But when she start talking, wow! She's amazing. She has such an aura. She has a great personality. Now I see her and I feel that she's beautiful. Much to learn from this woman.
In spite of her burns, you can still see her beauty that is naturally there. Had it not been for the burns, it means that this woman would have been super gorgeous.......
When I saw the last girl's insecure feeling inspite being so beautiful I thank god for not being born in korea... I love k-dramas alot which fascinated me to visit south Korea but seeing their beauty standards I changed my mind bcoz I don't want to be bullied there for being brown or may be end up building inferiority complex
God is great yes! I love Korean dramas too. I fell in love with Korean actor Lee min ho lol. But for sure they’re a very vanity driven culture. I’ve seen what “fat” is considered over there and I’ve always wanted to go but I’d be a whale over there.... their beauty standards are very unique to their look and If you’re not fair looking and a size double 00 with the Asian look well I feel there’s really no chance of being considered attractive over there
@@jillthompson6110 i think she just doesn't want to go there and be judged just because she doesn't fit their beauty standards even tho i think they probably wouldn't care because she isn't Korean
@@jillthompson6110 well honestly if I really wanted to go I wouldn't be like "I'm not gonna go because they won't think I'm attractive" if I really wanted to go I would. I do agree we shouldn't be limited to do the things we want to do because of our looks but I do believe as a foreigner visiting South Korea you would be easily judged as I mentioned before they're a vanity-driven culture. They put a lot of their energy into looks. and true @F.D they probably wouldn't even care since I'm not even Korean, however, I've seen interviews where they look at black entertainers from here in the United States and say things like "She's pretty for a black girl" and to me, that implies that they don't only judge themselves but perhaps even see other races as less than. Not saying they're all like that I'm just saying they put a lot of emphasis into looks and the look they like is very particular.
Despite all the obvious scars, she is genuinely beautiful, to top it off, she has a shine- through personality. Even though she may not be able to do the plastic surgery, just by being herself, she still can charm people. Wish her all the best in life
What the heck she's look good already. Shes correct, she doesn't need surgery just because of her jaw line. I think the lady with burn scars I love her confidence shes beautiful. In a way her character. Just the scars. Love her confidence.
Because of skin care or the fact that they actually had done other surgeries (like the eyes or nose). And maybe because of their make up. Make up can be scary
Honestly, She is so beautiful Mashallah, her eyes, they way she talks, her hair, her lips. I guess everything honestly ✨💖✨ Edit: thank you for the likes 🥰
I was told several times by korean tourists that I need to do a nose job and jawline, it was so random tho. I just went out to buy some groceries and that happened. But I just laugh and said I'm comfortable with my face, I won't change any single thing about it, I got skincare and makeup, and that's enough 😂🤣 I'm amazed how obsess they are with plastic surgery and their beauty standard was sometimes absurd. tbh there's nothing wrong with my nose shape and jawline, I looks perfectly fine like other people 🤣🤣
I think it’s similar to how the US is about teeth. I know a lot of people who think you should get braces (or now veneers) if your teeth aren’t perfect. There is almost a snobbery about it.
@@mirroruniverse9331not really, braces affect your entire face. even if you stop wearing your retainers, your mouth will never really be the same as it was before

Smart, sassy and beautifully epic. I too have scars. My husband calls them my ‘medals i😌of honor’. Each scar for us shows strength and resilience. We are not ‘vanilla’ people, we are ROCK ROAD❤️
When she answered ‘obviously I’m not’ about whether she thought she was beautiful I teared up, no one deserves to think they are ‘obviously’ not beautiful. This woman is clearly so strong yet society has still caused her to feel that it is ‘obvious’ she is not beautiful. She is, inside and out.
I think there's no problem with getting plastic surgery if it's gonna boost your confidence, is safe, and you know the risks. But judging from this, the korean lady at the end didn't even know what she was getting herself in to.
@sad sushi You don't seem to be familiar with the korean jawline surgery. She's gonna look normal trust me. Many koreans get it and hardly anyone knows as the results usually look natural. This goes for other procedures too esp double eyelid surgery.
I Look Like a Toe, the question is will it really boost your confidence or will you find another thing to criticize on your face when you don’t wake up after surgery 100% confident? Will you just have to relearn or start to learn loving your face after surgery? That the “ideal beauty” you are chasing cannot be caught but has to come from yourself?

You can't turn back time and you're afraid to have another surgery because again, it can get worse!.. Please see the risks especially for your mental health!
@@ayshaanas1654 I can understand that! I wanted a nose job since I was 15..and finally got it done after 9 years. I was blind. Do you cry when you see yourself in the mirror with that nose? Are you afraid to go outside sometimes? No?? Then in MY OPINION a surgery is not worth it. If you can see the positive aspects of such a surgery I hope and believe that you can see the positive aspects of your body, face and life. Social media is terrible.. She is sooo lovely.
Fantastic Esther i agree. I can see beauty on her face
Annie you are lovely especially your eyes and your hair ttoo. Lovey personality.
Fantastic Esther right. She is really pretty.
The worst part is you'll always find something about the new you that you dont like. If you didnt love yourself then, you cant love yourself now.
I never even thought about that! Really opens your eyes. I'll remember that, thanks!
