A Springfield 1191 A-1 saved my life. That's all the consideration I need. Politics of SA aside, if it stands up to the job of protecting myself and my family with decades of existence behind it to boot, that's all I need personally. Thanks for the video and stay safe.

It's an A-1 "Loaded"-skeletonized trigger/hammer, full length guide rod (a whole other can of worms on the internet) and a few other minor "mods" compared to a mil spec. I own both and trust either to do the job. Stay safe man.

My first impression with a 1911 was a first shot bullseye at 25 yards. Bought a slightly used parkerized "loaded" 1911 for $800, and I love it.

I recently purchased a Springfield Army commanders 1911 Ronin with the 4.25" barrel chambered in .45 ACP and I freely admit that I absolutely love this pistol! This pistol is my EDC. It's fairly light weight as it has an aluminum frame and it shoots straight as an arrow. And in spite of the aluminum frame the recoil isn't bad at all. A real joy to shoot and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a 1911.

I picked up yesterday a 1911 Loaded in stainless from Springfield and this gun is now my favorite pistol in my collection. It’s shooting 1 MOA groups with not one malfunction. I did oil it before use and replaced the two piece guide rod with a one piece full length guide rod from Wilson Combat. The gun shot so good that a sheriff who was shooting next to me at the range had to check this good looking gun out. I always had respect for Springfield Armory for their history, now I even like them more.

I probably have every Springer 1911 they have ever made. There a great platform to build a 1911 on, do a little polishing and softening the sharp edges, replace a few of the mim parts and you have a really nice 1911. My main complaint with their guns is almost everyone I've ever bought has a safety that feels like a "sponge" in the off position. Of course a new Wilson safety corrects the problem but I think they could do better.

Outstanding video comparing Springfield Armory 1911 models. What a great product line!! I totally lucked out as I was checking out the Mil-Spec GI version for like 5 Benjamins when I came across a beaut of a stainless steel SA 1911 Loaded .45ACP that I pulled the trigger and picked up at the end of 2019 for a little over $700 along with the Springfield Armory “Gear Up” promotional package that provided 5 OEM magazines, both a hard case and a soft range bag as well as an OWB paddle holster an a dual magazine holster as well. Over 600 flawless rounds run through and all I’ve done is changed the grips to G10’s and added a Wilson Combat magwell along with picking up a couple of 8rd WC magazines for good mesure… 👍🏼😎

I have the 5" Prodigy. Had some initial reliability issues, but polished some parts and replaced others and it's my favorite pistol right now. It's a very heavy 9mm pistol which really lowers felt recoil and I can consistently put a 5" round grouping together at 30-50 feet. I'm not gonna win any contests, but I will be able to protect myself with this gun. Highly recommended, but only if you like tinkering with your guns.

I bought a "Garrison" .45 a little over a year ago. Only fired 7 rounds through it. I need to break it in badly. When loading a round it's prone to jamming. I checked the extractor tension and it not too tight or loose. Hopefully after it's broken in it will be more reliable.

Worked in a gun shop in the early 1990s. Sold a lot of their basic 1911. Sent a lot of them back for bunged up slides, bunged up bushings, mash fixed extractors. Just junk.
Then I bought a TRP the early 2010s. It was good. Serial numbered parts matching the frame. Good fit and finish. But was disappointed with the MIM parts, especially the fire control parts. Sold it to finance a Les Baer.
Got the Ronin a year and a half ago. Took it to a local Smith fir a good grugger job. Came back with a 3.5 pound trigger, crisp. The super thin grip panels had to use super think grip bushings. Had to remove those and replace with standard grip bushings so I can use aftermarket grips. Carakofed the blue slide for more corrosion resistance. It's a great outdoor 1911 or truck gun.
Would love the Professional, but that Ed Brown SF just sang a.more seductive song and i got the Brown.

Springfield does not offer a parkerized lightweight commander size 1911 or enough choices and selection for the restricted California market. 1911 pistols are best left in their original configuration,Plain, simple and elegant function with no billboarding and dressed up colors. Parkerized with wood or G10 is best.
