Great review, guys. We're honored that you enjoyed the game so much despite it being outside your normal genre. We will also be sure to add clarification to the drafting rules before our production run. Thanks again and happy gaming!
Great choice of YTers been growing as our groups fav game channel. Thanks for supporting, and this alone will guarantee me a backer. See you in comment section.
I had the opportunity to playtest Legacy's Allure 2 or 3 times a few months ago - it's a very well designed game with a passionate designer and Discord community who will be more than happy to show you the ropes. If you're looking for a Summoner Wars-style game with more deterministic combat and basically zero randomness, then this game is definitely for you. That being said, I personally prefer Summoner Wars 2nd Ed.
Agreed! I would pick Legacy's Allure over Summoner wars to play in the long-term myself, Summoner wars was far easier to pick up, but found the dice rolling to be a little extreme for my liking. Cheers! -Ashton
I can confirm that grand wizard is awesome to build around. Y'all should check out my tournament winning army featured on the official channel. Teleports for days!
@@Shelfside Well that’s good wouldn’t want to play a 3 hour long game where all you do is draw a card and end your turn..... I’m not salty.... But yes I love the tactical nature of this game :)
have only played Summoner wars so I can speak to that: it feels so much different. Combat is entirely deterministic here, you never spawn units, and overall just felt more intense to me. Hexes also make a difference :) -Ashton
@@Shelfside I love hex based war games, but without the ability to get reinforcements it seems like losing 2 or 3 could decide the whole game. Was that your experience?
@@SeanUCF that sounds about right, especially your hero in this game! But I believe that's what a lot of people like in it- the intensity with every move -Ashton
Looks great, searched to buy 1/3 in... then seen was not out. My concern is Meta, once the best decks a win goal is found this game needs a new deck... then power creep. Will get but looks limiting (agred about 2 player)
a little concerned about meta ourselves too, one our friends really into lifestyle games went on a rant on it on a car ride here ahaha. We were hoping that the army drafting would really help relieve that, but couldnt test that much. Game is still young so will see what happens! -Ashton
I played it online, and I have to agree with Shi Yu, I really didn't like the dice rolling in combat. Some dice rolling is totally fine, but it felt very over the top because of how often you fight, and how defenses also have to roll for blocking. Really well made online integration though! -Ashton
haven't played mage wars, but summoner wars had a lot more randomness that turned me off from wanting to play it extensively ahaha. Cheers though, will have to look into mage wars -Ashton
@@Shelfside Mage Wars is way way more customizable, but the game structure is somewhat old school to me, like a wargame turn structure... Something like "not streamlined" in my opinion... It can take long time to play. I didn't play because no opponent around. Also I'm a solo gamer, so I wish it has solo mode. But it never happen, lol~ Please try it if you can. I'm actually quite curious how will you guys see it. It can play more than 2 players. Just the time will expand even more...
@@jupiterloner999 thanks for sharing! I remember seeing it on some top 10 lists a couple years back and never got around to it. Will have to play with daniel for sure. Cheers! -Ashton

looks so fun! My friend was too scared to draft it, and just stuck with the ultraknights ahaha -Ashton
This game gives me MTG vibes…. I like it. Ive always imagined what the game would look like with a map so awesome vid guys! Looks really cool :D
Cheers Bastian! Some MTG vibes, but zero randomness so can't get mana screwed ahaha -Ashton

Very fun review.
Great video. Love Legacy's Allure
cheers! Yeah its a freaking well made game. -Ashton
I think this game looks really cool!
i will be buying this game!
How does this compare to something like Summoner Wars, Crystal Clans or Dragon Lords Battle of Darion?

Chek out Res Arcana! Great puzzly engine builder that also has a cool pass mechanic.
been playing it on BGA! In my second async game right now, enjoying it :D -Ashton
Is there a 10 out of 10 version of this game style?

thanks man! More coming! -Ashton
Seems like you should try summoner wars 2nd edition
If only they didn't ruin the awesome artwork of the 1st edition by doing it so cartoonish in the 2nd edition. If only....
