Thanks for making this video. First, saved me from buying the two metra harnesses to try to make my own T harness by showing me that all the wires would not be passed through! thanks for the two suggestions for making your own T-harness. This is a way better and clean solution to add an amplifier to my stock stereo without cutting the factory harness, especially if I may not keep my car that long and want to remove it. Plus it definitely will make the installation time shorter without having to have the dash all open for that long.

Just completed my first radio install today 😁 found out pretty quickly, which was my constant and accessory wire through testing with a multimeter(checking for voltage to pass through) and switching the ignition on and off.

Just wanted to say you guys have taught me so much. I have a 2021 ram 1500 long horn without amp.If i am planning on using a metra t harness to grab hi/low to my dm-810 from radio to dsp through speed wire but am going to run new wire to speakers do i just not hook up the speaker connections on the t-harness? Should i just individually heat shrink those wires to insulate them? I did buy a set of audiocontrol Ac-lgd-20 to install between the speed wire and dsp to make sure the headunit works

This is really good information and thank you alot. I always though i needed a rca converter but using the high input on my amp works, the only problem is that if i put the gain more than 2, i start hearing distortion, for example without playing music you will hear a shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sound. Luckily i dont have engine sound. @dean if you can help me with this i will appreciate it, thank you alot and i enjoy seeing all your video!

Awesome video Dean, thanks. I have 2 questions if you don't mind,
    1) do you know of a part number for a 2017 CR-V EX T-harness?
    2) You mentioned the speed wire is 18 awg, is 18 awg sufficient enough to use for components speakers, I suppose the better question is will the factory wiring to the doors be sufficient for use on aftermarket door components?

I have a 2016 Ram 1500 quad cab with the 5" screen Uconnect factory HU. Its the non amplified 6 speaker base system. 4) coaxial 6x9s one in each of 4 doors.. and 2) 3.5" in dash. I want to go out of the factory harness from HU using a T-Harness to go to my LC7 I with all 6ch and then from LC7i out with 4 ch full range to my 4 ch amp then out of the 4ch amp back to T-Harness to hook back into factory run doors and dash speaker wires. Also out from LC7i with the 2ch RCA sub signals to my 2ch Bass amp to power 2 10" subs in box under rear bench seat. so I have the LC7i but I need the correct Plug & Play T-Harness for this exact type of install. Can you please help me with exact Brand name/Model Number/where to purchase it?

off topic, but what are you guys doing with the ANC issues in so many vehicles today. some of the earlier GM and Honda's are easy but the new GM's are a different story. 2020 terrain, I purchased a harness from LLJ customs assuming they would bypass the ANC within the T Harness but that's not the case. They tell me only BOSE models has the ANC and that's not the case either. Nothing against those guys, they make a great T-harness just didn't do what I needed. I know I can disconnect the 4 mics and ANC would not work, however my customer would prefer not cut any wires. This terrain is the model with the Teal and Gray plugs at the radio module under passenger side dash. Any tricks you guys may know would be helpful. thanks My name is Dave Smith (Best Auto Sound & Security). PS the reason the customer does not want to cut the wires to the mics is because it would be difficult to reconnect, and he read somewhere and then I looked it up, it appears that new GM ANC some how is suppose to increase fuel mileage.. so he wanted to hook the ANC back if necessary.

I’m getting resistance from my harness connected to the factory and going to my amp, but at the amp I’m only getting resistance on the wires for the speaker that’s working but not the other ones. Which is odd. And on the harness going to the radio with speed wire to the lc7i I have no resistance on any wires… any help is appreciated thank you

In a factory radio retention aftermarket set up. Buy DSP (digital signal processor) t harness from access for your car or even a LOC (line output converter) T harness from PAC. Just the t harness. You can use the speaker wire leads to send the signal from the radio to the amp and then connect from amp to the harness.
When connecting back to the harness cut the wires on the t harness (my pac loc t harness needed that) that lead to the factory plug. Boom. No cutting factory speaker wire. Just the t harness, specifically the speaker wires leading to the factory plug.

T harnesses are worth every penny. Cutting a harness should be a last resort. If you're not familiar with the process, it's too easy to mess something up and complicate your install so you have a bad experience or unsafe install.

I Don't understand why you need to build a harness since you just can buy it or am I wrong? Need some enlightenment.

In the 03-09 4 Runner sr5 base model it seems as if I have upgraded Speakers ,because every video I see for my year shows a full basket and a 1" magnet!
Basic Fujitsu CD/Tape deck stereo but sounds amazing ,I don't see an amp but I'm wondering if there still MIGHT BE a signal wire installed that would be for the JBL subwoofer that i could tap off of for signal to an amp just for a set of subwoofers???
