Short range indoor target shooting as they used to do it from 1600's - 1800's in German high society...using low powered but accurate bellows airguns firing precision darts across a room.
Mozart used to do it!
I think this is the ancestor of 10m match shooting.
I think you have just re-set the bar in my wish list collection! What a beautiful rifle , and by the sound and looks packs quite a wallop ! Thank you for sharing 😎
I wish they would remake these
a piece of art
Beautiful rifle and nicely shot
now that looks like fun . what a stunning rifle 👍
Lovely well balanced rifle - glad to see you dressed for the part Matt 😁👍
They shoot better if you look the part 😊
Ok. I want one. Thanks for posting this
This is not fair. You should have made a warning in the beginning of the video, saying : If you are allready a airgun fan, who is having problems financing all of your wishes, you should propably not watch this video. What a treat of historic dimensions.
Haha! Don’t worry, I put myself in financial difficulties purchasing this airgun when I did, but it was worth it, and I would do it again! Thanks
I'd love to see a how to of the dart. An accurate dart. I have some sort of diy bellows airgun but the lack of a proper dart is keeping me off.
I bought some airgun darts but they are too heavy for the skirt to truly work, and they end up tumbling and hitting sideways
If you check at 13:55 on my Kuchenreuter full video I mention how I made it. Big sable brush glued into correct size brass tube with epoxy resin. Pop it in a lathe for a central hole then I filed down an m2 bolt to a point, left a bit of thread on and screwed it into the dart. Tube of masking tape round the bristles to cut them square. Much lighter than an all steel equivalent. Cheers
@@dkjngl1 many thanks!! Gonna check it right away
Just Fabulous!!!! Thanks for sharing....my first PCP air rifle is arriving today!!
Just curious are you guys allowed to keep anything over 12ftlbs of energy at your home or does it have to be stored at a shooting club like firearms??
I believe FAC airguns be kept in a secure police approved gun safe at home, subject to appropriate firearms certification and police checks etc.
@@dkjngl1 thanks for the reply.. at least you get to have them at home
What a wonderful old air rifle, smooth bore I presume and what calibre?>
Yes, 8.5mm and smoothbore.
I wonder if this type of compression, i.e. consistant pressure through the shot (or blowpipe compression as Gerald Cardew called it) benefits from a bigger bore, as maybe you don't want a build up of back pressure as you do from a spring piston (or pop gun compression as G.C called it) If you haven't already check my full review on this Kuchenreuter as it shows the internals.
I'm currently making a video on the restoration of a 6.3mm Bellows gun which only has a single spring so should be less powerfull.
Cheers
@@dkjngl1 Interesting.
Howdy Matt, how popular would real guns be in permitted in the U.K. ?
Hi Ron, I don't know but you can own certain firearms but it is strictly controlled. It's not ingrained in our culture here really. I see airguns as fascinating in their own right as apposed to a replacement for unattainable firearms. Cheers mate.
I dont think it would ever be permitted for UK citizens. Maybe for illegal "immigrants" Just to be " political correct" Anyway, what a nice historical air rifle. Thank you for the video.
