    For 15 days I only ate potato, sweet potatoes, avocados, cucumber and corn tortillas and drank a ton I water and my skin looked fantastic!!

      I just want to add that it's okay for 15 days, but in the long run you's be nutrient deficient. Just so nobody gets the idea to live only from that.

    sweet potatoes are insanely healthy. a ton of potassium (can be hard to get), vitamin A, AND vitamin C (not always common to find a good amount of both in just one food). They are legit a super food, eaten in the Japanese blue zone. love them!

    I’m vegan and diabetic. Sweet potatoes are also really good to help with any insulin resistance issues.

      @ type 2. I use the low glycemic index for most of my food choices. I have found sweet potatoes in particular to not give me wild spikes. My favorite meal on repeat is sweet potatoes, lentils and either spinach or Brussels sprouts….

      I didn't know this. My husband has diabetes. He's not vegan, but he does eat many vegan dishes I cook for myself. He loves pork and eggs so I was shocked when my miso tofu was mysteriously disappearing. I asked him if he actually ate tofu and yes, without knowing it was tofu or miso he ate it and dipped his bread in the miso sauce like he does with meat. 😂 Now I need to find a way to have him eat sweet potatoes which isn't something he's used to either.

      @ before I espouse them further... They are not a low glycemic index food per se but my body processes them better than a regular potato especially if I am eating beans and legumes with it. With most of us finding healthy carbs can be very challenging. Definitely enjoy them though.

    Hello Jenné, thank you for continuing to share your wisdom with us all! I am transitioning to plant-based, and after meeting with my nutritionist and then seeing this video, I feel more relieved and certain about taking it one meal at a time towards my goal. The first video I watched of yours was the lentil tacos, and that is now a staple dish in my plant-based artillery (which reminds me I haven't made it in awhile and need to circle back).     I make a simple bread with red lentils and quinoa. It is so easy and delicious. I have been vegan for years and sweet potatoes are high on my list. I shop locally which is treat here on the Mediterranean .

    He there! I’m in the middle of my 2nd vegan pregnancy and so happy with it! Our family is vegan/vegetarian. We eat lentils, beans, apples, carrots, and some other nut (cashews, walnuts, pistachios) daily.

    You sure are making not having to go to the grocery store sound very appealing. 😅 So with your flax seeds...you are absolutely correct about grinding them before ingesting them. However ,when you grind them too far ahead of time they will get exposed to the air and they oxidize... and therefore will lose their valuable nutrients. It is recommended you grind just the amount you are going to use (for a smoothie for instance )and then immediately consume them. I use a quarter to half a cup. I love your channel and thank you so much for trying to encourage people to eat healthier. ❤

      that's a good point. I bet if you put them in the freezer after grinding it would significantly slow the oxidization

    Hey, that’s what I eat everyday. Hard to find a good sour doe bread, however. Been 100% vegan since 2012. Here is a tip to get more omega 3 in your day: Add a heaping table spoon of ground flax seed to your coffee. I make cappuccino, with organic soy milk in place of milk and no sugar. The ground flax seed gives it a creamy texture, and nutty flavor. 👍

      @@user-qm7nw7vd5s hey, it’s really easy to make sourdough bread. I made my own starter and now make sourdough every week. Very easy, no kneading-there’s a technique where you do pulls. I’d recommend the cookbook I use but think my comment would get zapped!

    Thanks for the vid. Very interesting and loving it. Not sure when I became veg but I'm loving it. Love sweet potatoes. My grand pop used to got a produce farm and remembering my cousin and me digging sweet patotoes out from the ground and biting into it fresh with the milk running out from it. My challenge is making it crunchy .....

    I really, really, really love your channel - smart, funny, cool mom vibes! I was vegan back in the late 80s (yup before electricity) and again in 2016. I was vegetarian for 23 years and am now more primal (I eat animals now), eater, and thriving. While being vegetarian was pretty effortless for me despite being so in a time when it wasn't so popular, being vegan didn't align with my system. I'm pretty plant-based now, but I gotta say, I love my grass-fed steak on occasion and take no shame in enjoying a cheese plate. But your video refreshed my memory of foods that are incredibly versatile, affordable, and healthy. (PS - folks should be mindful about the sourdough - not all are made vegan, and sugar is sugar even when it's vegan).

    Thank you for your amazing content over the years. I’m no where near Vegan, but all the foods you just named, I have in my kitchen and consume on a regular. However, I also love quinoa & avocados 🥑. I will say I’m intentional about the foods I purchase & consume and am always giddy when it comes to recipes Vegan and non-vegan I’m more than likely will have most if not all of the ingredients. I’ve been eating sour dough bread for almost 2 years now because I found that my body doesn’t adjust well to wheat products. I’m so happy because not only does it taste amazing, it doesn’t bloat me. Now, to try and make some would be a goal! 🤗

    Great video!! I really love eating vegan and these items are very doable. I will start eating more lentils also. My one issue I'm having is how to clean the organic cruciferous veggies. I am finding bugs in them. For example, we just found a baby caterpillar on one of my green peppers. It was very cute and I didn't kill it, I took it outside. But so many bugs. I do rinse and soak in apple cider video. Do you have any tips or tricks to cleaning the veggies?

      Hi Linette! Not the bugs!! I have had that issue, but only in warmer months. So kind of you to put that caterpillar outside.
      A tip is to clean and prep the veggies all at once when you have time. That way you can use them throughout the week without having to worry about prepping.

    I love homemade sourdough too! I’ve had better luck with my homemade sourdough keeping longer. I’m usually able to keep it fresh in the fridge for over a week.

    We vegetarian. But no artificial dyes and gluten free. Low to no added refined sugar. We try to eat a whole foods diet. Minimal dairy, sweet potato nearly every day, we are about to pick up more today. We enjoy quinoa as well.

    Don't forget your sours, Lemon and Vinegar both flush Oxalates, the thing that people complain about after going Vegan for awhile and then having to say going back to meat made them feel better.

      Yes! I tried them, and will be buying from now on. The pasta tastes like sourdough, which I love, but it quite different than regular pasta. The crackers too, and they are hard to stop eating.

    You have to make sure it's ACTUALLY sourdough. A lot of what's labeled sourdough isn't really. If the ingredient list shows "yeast", its not sourdough.

      Take him to a medical doctor and don’t take advice from people on the internet.

      Ideally consult a pediatrician. Make sure he is getting adequate iron, B12, protein, omega 3s and vitamin D. All are important for hair. Props to you for raising him vegan 🌱

      I’d take him to the doctor. I haven’t heard of this in a child, but in adults losing your hair can be linked to nutritional deficiencies. Good luck!!

    My question is how to eat vegan when you have problems with oxalates? Many plant foods are full of oxalates like potatoes, most beans and legumes, most seeds and many leafy greens.

    I would be plant based if I had a wife that was plant based and a good cook. I'm the worst cook and I hate cooking.

    I went vegan by mistake just cleaning up my diet. It’s more mental than anything. The word brings so much negative attention! I get sick of explaining what vegan is. I’m like Its just eating plants and nothing else😂😂. I don’t like saying this is a vegan meal🤦🏽‍♀️… It’s food.. you can spend all day telling people the health benefits of a thousand different vegetables ,but time you say the V word people shut down and think you have some special will super power or perfect eater🤦🏽‍♀️ . I’m so over it. Eat plenty plants if you want to look and feel well or eat plenty of junk and plenty of animal food and look and feel not so good. You can consume clean animal products and still maintain vitality.

      I only received paper packaging in this order. No plastic. I do think they use plastic to cover oils though (didn't buy any). Could they have changed?
