I got two zugu cases for my iPad Pro 2018. Because the protection and the principle of magnetic notches is very practical. However, despite the very high quality, there's one big fault with the Zugu cases: the lining of the flap that folds over the screen always comes off within two years. Considering the price, this is a real flaw. I intend to renew my iPad Pro 2018 this year, and the ESR protection seems even smarter than the Zugu.
Thanks for sharing your experience. I am sure others will find it helpful as well. Did this flaw happen to both of your Zugu cases? That is a pretty unfortunate flaw.
@@JimmyLamStudio yes, on the first one I thought it was because you have to use the little tab to open it. Because it was the first to come off.
On the second I was more careful, and added a large strip of fabric to open the cover. But even so, the soldering is still loose. I've had the iPad since 2019, so in 5 years I've had these 2 Zugu cases. And they both ended up with this problem.
I wanted to buy a zugu case, but i dont understand what part of the case you are talking about. Could you help?
@@daan2299 sorry for my english.. the cover that folds over the screen. the covering of this cover is peeling off. On the iPad Pro 2018 model, I had two, one in 2019 and one in 2022. And after two or three years the solder on the lining broke. (better ?)

Zulu proven by you is sturdy. Wondering however about material itself over a year of handling.
I do like the storyboarf]d version 2 for the hand/arm resting space. Why? So often in holding iPad or stands, y left hand would up interfering with actions of pencil or right hand. I don’t always want to go change settings because my drawing methods very so much. I definitely would be annoyed to have to hold onto the Zulu upper left corner.

by watching your video I got a matte glass screen protector instead of ESR and I am really happy with it, thank you so much, though its a diff brand, urs wasnt available in my country, but thanks, you make good content keep it up

Does it fit on the new 13inch ipad pro?
It will NOT fit the new 13” iPad Pro. I don’t believe they’ve released a new case yet.
@@JimmyLamStudio ahhh dang, maybe they might release it a little later I assumed, I really need their case, since the new ipad pro is so thin, Im afraid that it might be easily bend over
@@davidchain10 yeh I still haven’t bought any cases for it either since there just aren’t that many to choose from and I didn’t want to be left with 5 different cases I’d throw away after upgrading to a different iPad. So the iPad just stays on my drawing stand for now.
Actually I have my new M4 13 in my old 12.9 (6th gen) case. It kinda fits. By that I mean because it is thinner there is a little space but not enough to fall out.

Lining on my case (2022 12.9 inch Pro) is coming unstuck after less than 18 months.
Totally unacceptable for a case that costs this much.
Sounds kinda common based on the previous comment. They really need to do better.
Wished Zugu will stop miiking this design over and over and just giving us new colours. Even if it’s the same design, they can use better materials to make the case lighter, thinner whilst maintaining the same protection and put in much much stronger magnets for everything and especially the front cover. I was a fan of Zugu but back in 2018. But getting frustrated over the years with not much improvements and innovation. Though I dislike the cases from Mous, at least they have their own proprietary technology like airocore. What does Zugu has? Just a design that any chinese manufacturer can copy and improve upon. Take the ESR shift for example, in terms of features, it far exceed the Zugu case and at just a fraction of the price. Sorry for ranting, with how much this case cost, it’s only natural that us consumer expects more. Just my 2 cents.
I totally agree with you! I'm looking for a new case for my iPad Pro 13" M4, and I'm considering between the Zugu case and ESR. The Zugu case offers better protection, but the ESR case is more effective in other ways. I just need a case for traveling to university and throwing my iPad into a bag. I'll probably go with the Zugu just because of the protection, although I'm not happy with the limited angles for typing.
