watched this video night before my test, and i had the right turn at the red lights and did it with ease !! thank you so much 💪💪🐐🐐 passed yesterday first time 🎉🎉
Hi Dane, I passed first time yesterday with zero faults, I watched many your videos in the lead up to my test and they were extremely helpful so thank you! :)
I've been at the junction just after the court house before and I was always confused about if your supposed to wait for the lights or not. Thanks for clearing it up
A special thank you to Dane for this video. I was able to navigate this route because I watched it the yesterday morning before my test. Long story short, I passed my test on second attempt. Thank You Dane; Thank you! NB: I'll visit your Revolut soon.
That junction in naas is pretty hard to be fair. I live in naas and it’s right outside the test centre as you said. Passed my test second time last august as you probably remember (hopefully) and your videos certainly helped. I like to come back and watch your videos still! Thanks dane
I have a driving instructor who wouldn't share information with me in 2008 to thank for that, said to myself I'd never end up like him. Congratulations on your great news 😊🎊🎊
Hi Dane, I passed my test first time two weeks ago and it would not have been possible without your videos and to the informative email replies. Thank you so much.
Great video Dane! I have a question, modifying the above scenario a little - if is a + junction and it doesn't have yellow cross markings and the signal doesn't have 'Turn right' but just a green signal instead. In the scenario: are you supposed to wait for traffic to clear in front of you? or wait in the middle of the junction so you can take the right once the traffic is clear?
Hello Dane… your videos helped a lot however I failed my driving test with very few marks especially got 2 grade 2 for posting Turing right and posting at roundabouts. My concern is estate roads where there are no marking at times there are single lanes or double lanes (imaginary). Can you please throw some light how to deal with these roads.
I don’t know while driving on estate roads tester pointed I have to consider them as two lane road but there are no lines on some routes in cork. Turning I keep on right keeping enough gap for oncoming traffic to pass but still got points there.
You have to assume it's a two way street unless the road is clearly marked, there could easily be cars approaching. Looks like you need more practice and lessons.
Thank you for that, but I am still not sure how I know when it is a junction where I need to look at traffic light and when it’s not. Could you explain please
I failed my test 7weeks ago in naas, I had no marks for the first 35mins then I started panicking and made so many mistakes, I got 9 marks overall but what failed me was my gears, it kept getting stuck, turns out my clutch was gone 95% my new test is on Monday and I’m so nervous again I really hope I pass
Examiner gave me 3 progress faults. He said I was in gear 2 in residential area and should be in 3rd gear. My car is a diesel and even at 30 it shakes in gear 3. I was doing 27km where it was open but about 22 where there were a lot of parked cars
Nice tip as usual. What is your advise on installing cameras in the car. I heard some drivers are deliberately causing accidents to claim insurance. I now live in Dublin.
In Naas, I can understand the lights on the left for traffic turning left and going straight ahead, but what's the point of the lights on the right if you can ignore them when turning right? What am I missing? Thanks Dane.
Traffic lights on the left and on the right are the same... in Ireland we have traffic lights before and after the junction in case u stop too far to see the first one... traffic lights on the right are the ones after the junction.... when turning right u are turning before the traffic lights so they don't affect Your driving here... if You are passing the traffic lights, going through them then they are for You but here the right turn is before the set of traffic lights...
Hi Dane, if you have time would you be able to make video on how to stop /pull over at the curb please? I struggle to judge the distance between the wheels and the curb, also if the car is straight enough. Thank you kindly 🙏
I would like to have one or two lessons ,if you can make an appointment,I live in Dublin, and then I can ask you some questions and drive in the same time I ‘m waiting your answer Thank you
The way you describe it doesn't sound good and it's the opposite of eco driving because you are causing more pressure and wear on the car. Why on earth are you doing it like that? Did someone tell you to do it this way or is this a dodgy habit you somehow picked up?
I just failed my test for going too slow over speed bumps. Got 5 grade 2s just for that and would have passed if I didn’t get them. Does this sound right to you?
Yes that sounds very right, a lot of people are driving in this way and I don't know if they are being told to do this or if they are just taking it upon themselves to drive extra slow. How slow were you going?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive To be honest, I’m not sure of the speed. But I actually thought I went too fast if anything. I don’t understand why I should be failed for that. How does that make me a bad driver or put others in danger for wanting to protect my car?
You weren't failed for that alone but probably the succession of misjudgements that built up. Each ramp is different so you need to judge them individually. I don't know what happened and maybe you were judged a bit harshly. Did you get driving lessons? Was it explained to you in the lessons?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive I did what I was told to do in lessons which was, brake gradually and put it into 2nd gear, let the car roll up and then accelerate. I wasn’t stopping and hesitating which is why I am surprised. I will do a pre test before my next test and maybe they can see what the problem was.

Sounds like a tricky junction alright, especially for those who are learning. Best wishes.
Passed my test today for a first time. Your chanel helped me a lot.
Thank you for all your tips, specially 123!
The 123 is probably my favourite acronym, congratulations on your great news 🎉

Great video Dane!

In the scenario: are you supposed to wait for traffic to clear in front of you? or wait in the middle of the junction so you can take the right once the traffic is clear?
In that case roll up into the middle of the junction on a full green light and give way to oncoming cars.
What happened with your position turning right? I don't know what you mean by imaginary double lanes.
I don’t know while driving on estate roads tester pointed I have to consider them as two lane road but there are no lines on some routes in cork. Turning I keep on right keeping enough gap for oncoming traffic to pass but still got points there.

It's a pleasure, congratulations on your great news 👏
Thank you for that, but I am still not sure how I know when it is a junction where I need to look at traffic light and when it’s not. Could you explain please
Hello Dane ,please do give some advise on bus move on, stoping the bus stop, observation
Overtake the bus if safe, don't stop on a bus stop, show good observation by checking mirrors and making sure no one is approaching.
To make it worse I had the tester and his inspector in the car I couldn’t see out my rear window
Sounds eventful. Why could you not see out the back window? Was it fogging up with condensation?
No the man was really big and wide
You probably needed to focus more on the window and not the man
Examiner gave me 3 progress faults. He said I was in gear 2 in residential area and should be in 3rd gear. My car is a diesel and even at 30 it shakes in gear 3. I was doing 27km where it was open but about 22 where there were a lot of parked cars
You can't just apply a one size fits all policy, perhaps you needed to get up to 3 at certain times like on wider flat roads.
Nice tip as usual. What is your advise on installing cameras in the car. I heard some drivers are deliberately causing accidents to claim insurance. I now live in Dublin.
100% you should have a camera in front and back of your car, its cheap, Dublin is a mess nowadays, especially the taxi drivers
It wouldn't be the worse advice let's just say that.
coming from Poland, the way traffic lights are set up in Ireland at junctions is so confusing
The more lights that are available then the more visible they'll be.
Please tell me how I can take driving lessons from you.
Hi Dane, if you have time would you be able to make video on how to stop /pull over at the curb please? I struggle to judge the distance between the wheels and the curb, also if the car is straight enough. Thank you kindly 🙏
Actually I've been thinking about this, good idea. Expect it very soon.

Absolutely, I might get them to do more in future!
I would like to have one or two lessons ,if you can make an appointment,I live in Dublin, and then I can ask you some questions and drive in the same time

That won't be happening, I don't do lessons anywhere near Dublin
Just a quick one. How long does it take to get a test once you book it. I’ve my lessons done
About 8 weeks but it depends on the test centre
I failed on the opposite side of these lights. :(
Got done 20 times on the clutch doing the reverse around the corner and got done on using my endercaters when over taking park cars,is the right
What do you mean you got done on the clutch? What did the tester say about that?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive I had the bite size and the foot brake doing the reverse coner, the tester said I would burn out the clutch,
The way you describe it doesn't sound good and it's the opposite of eco driving because you are causing more pressure and wear on the car. Why on earth are you doing it like that? Did someone tell you to do it this way or is this a dodgy habit you somehow picked up?
@@DaneTygheletsdrive It's a dodgy habit I picked up being in slow moving traffic I guess
You know what they say about dodgy habits - get rid of them.
I just failed my test for going too slow over speed bumps. Got 5 grade 2s just for that and would have passed if I didn’t get them. Does this sound right to you?

Sounds like you did the right thing anyway, but who knows with certain testers, there is such a lack of consistency among them unfortunately.
