Hi Dane I emailed you 4 weeks ago when I failed my test. Glad to say I took I passed yesterday with the help of you email about my test and re-watching all of your videos. Thanks so much for all the hard work you do. We all really appreciate it 🙏
Hi Dane, Thanks so much for all your videos! I passed my driving test today with only couple of minor issues. I binge watched almost all your videos and it has been a great help. Appreciate it! Pls keep making these important videos! Abhishek
Hi Dane, I passed my test today on my 2nd attempt after finding your videos. They are so informative and helpful and they have made such a difference to my driving. Thanks so much! :)
Hi Dane, just wanted to thank you for all the videos you put out. I passed my test today first time in Deansgrange and flew through my theory questions after watching the videos!
Thank you! Last time I sat with an instructor was about 2 years ago because of COVID stuff. Today I had my tests and passed first try. 90% of revision that I've done was with your videos and I only bought and started to drive the car just a little over 2 weeks. However I did pass the test with a total of 8 grades 2. However most of these where due to me being nervous.
@@DaneTygheletsdrive thank you! I've been a biker for just over 4 years. Whish I had a chance to do revision like this for the motorbike back then. Keep it up! 😁
Hi Aurgo, Congratulations on passing first time! I have my 3rd attempt in Tallaght tomorrow. I’ve tried to iron out my errors as best I can. Any advice based on your own experience of Tallaght?
@@seanmcg7 Just make sure to continuously observe the road and all mirrors constantly. Make sure you're comfortable with the roads in Tallaght so you aren't hesitant when turning. Make sure to watch Dane's videos as thats what helped me the most, goodluck!
I failed mine the other day, I yielded at a roundabout too many times seemly even though other cars weren't indicating so I didn't know where they were going. I think it was a little bit unfair as I was being cautious
I just wanted to say thanks so much Dane for taking the time to make these videos. I just passed my test first go and your videos were a great help 😁 fair play to you 😁 just about to make a payment to you now as a thank you 😁
That's what I don't understand, I got done for progress turning left and right for this exact situation, speed limit on the road was 50kph in one of them so they were more car lengths away but still not far enough for me to go
Hi Dane, would you know where the RSA road signs can be downloaded? Thanks for all your videos. Would you mind also explaining what coupling/decoupling means? I wasn't marked in this area but curious as to what it is. Thanks a mill
You can download the rules of the road book at www.rotr.ie and go from there. Coupling and decoupling is to do with the car and trailers and connecting to the car.
Hi dane, passed my test 2 days ago first try. Your videos helped a lot, especially on observations. Thanks a lot, im sure that without those videos i would've failed!
Hi Dane, I've a question. I got two Grade 2s on my last test for speeding. Apparently the limit was 35 in a suburban area in Wilton, Cork (I was doing 40ish). But there's nothing in the Rules of the Road on it and I made sure to check for any speed limit signs, of which there were none. I failed that test and I've another coming up so I wanted to get my story straight before I went in. Could you help please? Also, love your videos, they're so informative! I've every intention of passing this time, and it'll be thanks to you no doubt! 😤
You might be misunderstanding the way speed works, your job is to drive in a way that is suitable for the conditions, in suburban areas that might mean driving slower if the roads are small and if there's lots of parked cars. The speed limit is not always a target.

Just brakes, otherwise your coasting which is dangerous and you have no control of the car and are free wheeling. You won’t need your foot on the clutch if you are in the right gear for the speed you are doing.
Brake to slow down that's all, if you're changing down gears before the ramp you need to come off the clutch in order to avoid coasting and to engage your gear properly.
What do I do about the hill start because in my car it's automatic I don't think there's any way to turn it off so if I did my test on a hill could I fail over that.
Hi Dane, I’m a first time learners permit holder, can I apply for the drivers test and be put on the waiting test before the 6 months waiting time is up?
Have you seen the pass rates for 2022, the likes of killester went down from 68% to 46%. Big massive drop and we sure know it’s not because of road conditions. Rsa makes it up as they go along , it’s obvious those testers were told to mark harder. Now there is a 7/8 month back log those pass rates can only go down.
That is quite a reduction to be fair, one of the most challenging and frustrating issues for us is the lack of accountability and huge variety of inconsistencies amongst the testers.
Hi Dane, I had a question regarding the hand breaks at stop signs, hill starts and anytime I need to use it when it's more than 5 seconds. I have an automatic car with a foot break (no hand break) at the extreme left after the acceleration and break pedals, it also has a 'Park' button (P symbol) which acts as a break. Can I use the 'Park' button instead of the foot break? what would you recommend?
I'd recommend that you use the park button, I assume that is the handbrake but I'm not sure if you realise this.. The P is for Parking brake which is another word for handbrake.

Dane Tyghe sorry it sent without me composing my question, I wanted to know if you lose alot of mark to not being as close to the left as possible on wide roads😅
A vast majority of drivers don't stop at stop signs if the new road is clear. I don't think I've ever been a passenger in a car where the new road is clear and the driver fully stopped. A very common break of the rules

At 13:14 ,roundabout do we not need to wait for black car, that was on right ?
Hey Dane! Could you make a video on observations for reverse around the corner, or do you already have one up?
I failed mine the other day, I yielded at a roundabout too many times seemly even though other cars weren't indicating so I didn't know where they were going. I think it was a little bit unfair as I was being cautious
You need to be practical and confident, over caution is not going to be a good idea.

That last roundabout example. If both cars were on flat ground, would you say it would also be safe to go or would that be yield distance?
Possibly but it depends on what speed we are both travelling, there's a lot of different scenarios.

Yes
Dane, I have a question, is it OK to let the car roll in certain situations when you're driving? For example, if I'm driving around a corner.
What do you mean roll? What would you be doing with the clutch?
Hello I booked myself a practical driving test on July how do I make it earlier
See if you can do it on the MyRoadSafety portal, I'm not sure how you can change it but why did you accept the July date?
Hi Dane, I am a little confused when approaching a speed bump, should clutch and brakes be used together, or just brakes?
I am also not 100% here either. I use the brake but it depends on your speed when approaching the ramp
Just brakes, otherwise your coasting which is dangerous and you have no control of the car and are free wheeling. You won’t need your foot on the clutch if you are in the right gear for the speed you are doing.

Unlikely if it's not your fault. Don't worry about it
Hi Dane, I’m a first time learners permit holder, can I apply for the drivers test and be put on the waiting test before the 6 months waiting time is up?
Not unless your 12 lessons are done
How do you proceed when your view is blocked by parked cars to your right ?
Lean forward and gently creep out for a better view

@@DaneTygheletsdrive 68.8% to be exact :(
That is quite a reduction to be fair, one of the most challenging and frustrating issues for us is the lack of accountability and huge variety of inconsistencies amongst the testers.
Hi Dane, when should we use the handbrake on an automatic car? Thank you
Parking, at lights, on hills and if stopped over 5 seconds
