Pretty painless. Little dab of grease on the back of the plastic piece keeps it in place. Also, a small dental mirror helps to visually make sure everything is lined up behind the turn plate.

Brian... I was pulling my hair out trying get the spring synched up on my R3 because the Norton video they have sucks.
Your video is a million times better and you explain putting the spring on first then winding the spring.
You should retag this for R3s because it's identical!

I hear from a reliable source that Kawasaki isn’t producing the Ninja 400 for a year (but that it should be back in 2022, with a Euro 5 engine - same with the Z400, ZX-6R, H2, H2 SX, and a couple of other models ...)
As far as I can tell there are 2021 Ninja 400's being sold here in the US now. - Van
