    I just changed from RS4 to 71R today and I have to agree with you on RS4.
    I drive a R58 cooper S, it is my daily drive and i do aggressive driving once every week.
    The tire wear is good (half a year before change) and grip is excellence.
    But I have notice when you drove beyond the limit, the grip will just suddenly drop. I have slide twice on mountain roads which scary the crap out of me.
    In term of warming up the tires, I have to issues with that (Since I live in Hong Kong).
    Wet performance is ok, I only spin a few times at standing start. I never go to aggressive with semi-slick in wet conditions.
    I hope the 71R will perform better.

  • @NelBRZ
    @NelBRZ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are so right about the RS4. I wrecked my car to the concrete wall of a hill climb track that I’m very familiar with.
    The tyres caught me totally off guard and they have only done a few thousand kms.
    No any sign of losing grip but it just suddenly snapped.

    Great summary of TW200 tires, thank you. One last one to think about, have you tried the Toyo R1R? R1R changed to TW200 in 2016. I have R1Rs on my Lotus for daily driving, but I take them off and put on Hoosier A7 for Autocross or R7 for track days, so I have never driven the R1R on a autocross or track. They are good in the rain.

      They're just a tick off of the RT660's but you'll get 4x the life out of them. Well worth the trade-off in my opinion. I just bought the RT615K+ also. For track use primarily. If I was prioritizing autocross, I would have gotten the RT660's. I don't have A052 money!

    • @PiroFyre

      If you're still a novice, it's still an excellent tire to learn from. It was my first 200tw tire that I used a few years back that I tracked and autox. I moved onto tires like the 71Rs and now, the A052s but I have very fond memories with the RT615k+. It's a tire that really helped a complete novice really learn how to drive. If I started out on 71Rs and even A052s, I'd have a harder time learning car dynamics and my progression of becoming a better driver would've been much slower.
