Excellent review! Having played the game three times, I can say it’s really fun and the theme is perfectly captured. My only partial negative comment is that it’s quite long, but maybe the length will shorten as I get more familiar with the game. Highly recommended to every board game and football lover.

Yes! I think 2 players is the best, or solo, to keep the length reasonable. And eventually playing Mondays and match days simultaneously helps a bit!

love sports management sims, love economic games, but I know nothing about soccer specifically... how big a barrier is that?

The theme is a big part of this game! But really it’s only match day where any knowledge of soccer would come in, and even then it wouldn’t take long to figure out, in my opinion! I tested it with someone who knows about little league soccer and it went well.
Eleven is much more about management than actual soccer!
