I was excited when I originally heard about this because I love football, but wow it's much more involved and complicated than I had expected

Seems like I'm one of the few persons that really liked the match part of the game.

I loved the Monday thru Thursday part of the game. So many fun decisions to be made.
I still don't understand how Match Day works, and it has kept me from bringing it back to the table. Also the random rolls for the other match results is really dumb. There must be a better way. This game is begging for a second edition.

Totally diagree with this review....did not find the board room action were very punishing at all especially with the ability to re roll...plus anybody that actually watches football knows it is a very unforgiving sport and random things happen all the time at all levels from management go down.. .fully disagree with your review on the matchday as well...everyone i played with loved this and watching how everyone lined up their teams and seeing what everyone's results were had us all engaged...the game can run a little long at higher player counts though...3 may be the sweet spot for this but otherwise we found it to be fun and had no real issues with the things pointed out here

The fact that nobody enjoyed the actual soccer games of a game about soccer is a bad sign.

Am I the only one who came here expecting ten more reviews?

I went in expecting a club management, economic game and got that. Unfortunately it does have the clunky match day that feels like a let down after the week leading up to it. It is still not bad as a solo only club management game, but not good either.

I totally agree with your review. If you liked the theme you should try Time of Soccer (if you can find it) - it’s a much better game.

We tried this and then super club because we love football theme board games. Super club is just great and the best football board game out there. Match system are great and real players are avaible and so much fun system. Go and try that one !

How does a player get suspended?

Great review Graeme! I remember being so excited to try Pret-A-Porter based on the unique theme and then being incredibly disappointed once I played it. Maybe Portal should stick to survival co-ops. 🤔

To me it felt to game-y. I wanted a more immersive "you control a team" simulator.
