    This video caught my attention because I seen something in a coin collection I inherited a little over a year ago. It has 7 dimes dating From 1892 to 1944.
    I noticed that the 1940 and 1944 have the pillar like yours on the back and my 1916 does not have pillar?
    Your video, now gained my interest in my coin collection!

    One thing to understand is that it was perfectly well known that 1916-D dimes and 32-D and 32-S quarters were known to be exceptionally low mintage when they were "new". Nobody had to wait 40 years to figure out they were super rare.

    I'm new to collecting coins, but is it possible to put these under some sort of UV light or other wavelength like they do for scanning CF bills, etc... and see if there's something visible around the mint mark that would indicate a counterfeit?

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  ปีที่แล้ว

      These are counterfeit because of the entire coin is off, not just an issue with the mint mark.

    So even cleaned it’s worth $ - also I’m glad you mentioned Anacs at the end-as a positive company to use. Researching heavily over this past year- ( opinion only humbly) That ANACS seems to have a faster turnaround time and still be reputable enough to be accepted as one of the top 3? Am I correct with that info? As having an Auction Channel - hope that’s right way to say it.. Would you be more weary of their slab , because of an issue with a coin grading higher than the other companies or something else?

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're correct on ANACS, but you buy the coin not the holder.

    • @DevoShire
      @DevoShire ปีที่แล้ว

      Remember if it’s a genuine ANACS coin and it’s rare, people will try to lowball you and then crack it out for the other two (now three)) TPGs

    • @zakeharrop5369
      @zakeharrop5369 ปีที่แล้ว

      TPG? I’m not familiar with that term but the cent I’m referring to came down a collection line- which has very nice coins from Indian Heads of course the 77 wasn’t in it and all the others weigh 3+ grams- I want to get it slabbed - I’m trying to find out as much as possible and what it actually is? Do the capital A k stamped in obverse is mint lettering and its correct weight 4.6 I believe it’s a 59 with slightly longer head dress feathers are nice- it also has a weak reverse- from research I learned the composition was a much harder coin to strike- thanks for your input and I will look up the TPG - when you say 2 where did you find that info?

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Authentication not restoration, this coin is counterfeit so there's not restoring to make it authentic and you can't restore a cleaned coin.

    • @zakeharrop5369
      @zakeharrop5369 ปีที่แล้ว

      Okay I understand now- I was under the impression that maybe the coin was real but designated as counterfeit-question- with in the collection there were 2 43 copper looking coins- however the magnet told the truth. I decided to use hot water dish soap and qtip because I actually thought it was more grime than a purposely made counterfeit- I’m sure you know what I felt when I saw it!! I don’t know how they did it- must have been a dip or something? All the of the coins are in the old school paper plastic squares. The holders are old enough for the plastic to be brittle. I also inherited approximately 9000 cents super nice 60 small over large or large over small from BR super nice to red Ms - same with 72- 68’s- 69 Ms red s ( a couple) and D Ms quality. I have the black 73 set S mint all clad Ike weighs correct for clad as do all the rest down very nice coins.

    Counterfeit $ is illegal to possess. Why did they send it back instead of sending it to the Secret Service, as its their job to keep fakes from circulating. This makes no sense bc now it can go right into the til. But I've heard several Shady stories about pcgs lately. They've been lowering their standards, giving false, too good or just horrible grades on good pieces
