Banana Pudding is a staple in our house-it has always been my family’s favorite dessert!!! My husband always asks for am banana pudding for his birthday instead of a birthday cake!!!
Oh my Goodness! PF cookieswill be perfect! Kevin, you did azxactly what I would do! Put the cookie designs all facing up! I know this is a vintage episode but I am trying to catch up unwinding at the end of the dsy..But if you do read this I think it is so funny how we would arrange the chessman! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mr Potato Head made an appearance! Gotta say this looks so scrumptious! Somehow I missed this train in the 70's... I am going to make up for it in the 20's! Thanks for the great recipe and demo! 💛
What a charming dessert! Who would not be happy to have. We used to make banana pudding with the Nilla wafers, but I think that these cookies are extra cute. They add a certain whimsical quality to the classic pudding.♥️
My mom did this in pie form: the pie crust was made from crumbled vanilla wafers or graham crackers and sometimes with a regular par baked dough crust. I loved it, too.
Oh this took me right back to my childhood. My mother would make this while I still took naps😂. A looong time ago. And we used Nillas but I like the chessman much better.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I can see my sweet mother making this over and over again. But I love the idea of the Pepperidge Farms cookies. Can't wait to buy the ingredients, Just can't wait. Wow!
I've never used a double boiler to make custard or pudding. I just temper the egg yolks or add the yolks to the flour, sugar, and milk mixture. Down south we like a thicker custard.
Your banana pudding dessert looks so much more appetizing then the I packaged banana pudding I made last week! Thank you for sharing your recipe for the custard.
I just made one for a community dinner and added slivered almonds on top of the meringue which was peeked and browned in the oven for a short time. Yum yum. It is a JOY to watch you demo.
My better half favorite.his mom made her pudding. I had asked her for the recipe. She would say a handful of this a little of this and that. That is the way she cooked. She only measured in hand. Hubby and I have been married for 59 years little did I know about cooking. I made the Banana pudding with packaged pudding. Hubby never said anything bad about the pudding but will he be surprised after I serve this Banana pudding dessert. Thanks!!!
Sigh. Banana Cream Pie; the only recipe I've yet to master. By chance had you ever visited Grandma's in Albany (famous for their pies, but now sadly out of business)? Somehow they incorporated the bananas into the custard filling as opposed to slicing and layering; pie was out of this world!! Wish I knew their secret. Nonetheless, your recipe looks best by far; especially the use of custard!
Gees Kevin that can only be absolutely delicious with the proper custard instead of that slimy instant stuff... (I shudder at the thought of it) 😖🤦♀️great recipe thank you 😜 so easy especially for those impromptu get togethers👌👌👌👏🇿🇦
Hi, Kevin! I just found your channel a couple weeks ago and I’m hooked. I’ll watch 2 to 3 of your videos almost daily. I am looking forward to trying so many of your recipes, especially the Salisbury steak and the Champagne Cake. I also envy your talent in flower arrangements. I absolutely adore your China and other tableware. Such beautiful taste you have. You make me want to start doing afternoon tea. Also, always lick the bowl.
I've used this recipe but put it in a pie crust instead of using cookies. My husband loves banana cream pie. I' ve also used chocolate pudding for something different. Not my favorite but my family likes it. Thank you once again for a lovej
This looks amazing I only made it one time and absolutely loved it. Not sure if this in the same recipe tho lol believe it or not, I got mine from the nilla wafers box and it was incredible! Thank you for sharing with us and for the trip down memory lane! 🤗 I'm excited to try this for the family 💙👑 oh, and you just got a new subscriber 🥰 I'm looking forward to more videos. Have an amazing week🥰
@@kevinleejacobs1364 ok. Thank you! I realized I could Google it after asking, and I was about to and saw your reply... so thank you so much for answering. You're an angel! 💗
Hey Kevin, that looks amazing!!! Did the cookies taste as good (or better) than the standard wafers? I’ve never seen this variation and am curious. The presentation was gorgeous using them. My mouth is still watering 😂
Yum, ah the memories
Darling person and so generous sharing with us his knowledge...!
Wow, Kevin. Sinful dessert.
Mmmmm mmmmm
One of my all time favorites too
Very pretty.
When I was growing up ( in the 1950's) my mother made this every week it was a favorite at our house ~ thank you for sharing.

One of my all time favorites !
my husbands favorite! I think the mini Nilla wafers would have worked just great too!

I miss my grandmother's home made banana pudding. She was really a maestro at making meringue
Meringue is scary for me.

That was really nice; I like how you made the custard. I don’t have a double boiler. Cheers and enjoy 😉
Yum! My mom made banana cream pie for us way back in the day but she used jello pudding mix instead. Homemade is best!
Yummy!!
Simply fabulous 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Still a favorite dessert in the southern US.
Beautiful dessert and so yummy! Have you don't a video on banana bread? That's a great one also. So enjoy your videos! Thanks!

Wow yammy! Thank you very much! Looks very delicious!
I love your selection of pudding and using alternative methods or tool ie double boiler😢😢Looks so good.😊

Hi Queen! Thank you for subbing. This pudding recipe is very similar to the original one that appeared on the nilla wafers box. Enjoy!
Kevin, sing Eartha Kitt's " I want to bad", and add some rum or sherry to that pudding!
Yes, let's hear it for the rum.
Yummy
Yummy! That looks very good. What are the dimensions of your glass container?
I used a glass Pyrex baking dish. Dimensions are 9.1 x 7.1 x 3.5 inches.

Hi Puzzle Lady - I love how the Chessmen cookies look and taste. In my opinion, they are far more interesting than 'Nilla wafers!
Hum
What size baking dish yummiest 😅
This is my favorite banana pudding recipe. MM
😊👏👍
My husband and I followed the recipe exactly and the pudding turned to liquid in the baking dish. And The meringue was half the size of yours.
Using pudding mix from a box is sacrilege!
