    Nice video. I spoke with ECS before purchasing the clutch, and an associate informed me that the torque capacity for stage 2 clutch is conservatively rated. Idk by how much, but he told me I should be fine with fbo stage 2 (and even fbo stage 2+e30) as long as I’m not beating the piss out of my car. I hope that helps somebody pull the trigger!

      @@Gdawg246 ive got a stage 1 dkm with a single mass. Its not too terrible but its definitely noticable and if you use A/C or heat often youll hear it more at idle. And whenever you get on the power it sounds super clicky from 1.5-2.7k in almost every gear. I personally like the sound of the transmission but it can get annoying if you like a quiet ride.

    Bro the same thing just happened to me, the throw out bearing went bad, and apparently there was some grinding happening internally with my DKM clutch. I am so pissed, its been about a year since install and I can't get a refund. Great Video, but imma be honest, I also tried the ECS tuning stage 2 clutch and that died about 3yrs into my install, just started slipping. Hope you had better luck, I see this video is about 3yrs old already. If you're interested, I went with the South Bend Daily stage 2. Thanks for the chill video.

      Clutch chatter is normal on upgraded clutches, a few of my friends have the same clutch but we all have different amounts of chatterness I think it has to do with the balancing of the flywheel. I have like 10K on the clutch and I still recommend it very good clutch!!

    I want to know if this type of brand in clutch is good?

  • @ZigArrok55
    @ZigArrok55 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Don't beat yourself up for the stock clutch going out. You went stage 2 on it. The stock clutch it super weak man. It's rated for barely more than factory torque. As soon as you get over 300 lb-ft it's toast. You're lucky you didn't burn it up within the first few good pulls. Also, I feel like you should probably know, most new manual cars don't really have a lot of dead pedal. One of the easiest ways to test clutch condition when you buy a car is to see where the bite point is on the pedal travel. It should start to bite less than an inch from the floor if it's a good clutch. Especially if it's a sporty car like a GTI. My buddy just bought a new MK8 and it has basically no dead pedal at all.

      @@colgatemk7gti698That's great to hear! I have been IS38 for the past 4 years with a Sachs performance clutch using the dual mass flywheel (for less chatter). A few days ago my throw out bearing went to heaven, and on FCP Euro the new price is way higher and other brands are like in the $1,600 plus range. The ECS stage 3 is like $900... I might pull the trigger. Not many reviews out there. If yours (stage 2) is still holding, I might go with the ECS stage 3 (knocking on wood).
