    Gorgeous-sounding JD Bass - SO much richer than any other Mark has used! Those tones & roundness just surpasses them all! Great post! Really enjoyed this - sang along, & even applauded them at the end! How could you not! Still outstanding delivery after all these years!

      I received confirmation from Andy Diggins at Jaydee Guitars that Mark King had ordered this new new cherry red Jaydee signature bass in early 2020 for the 2021 tour through the present..........cheerio!

      I absolutely love those Jaydee basses Mark used back in the day and has started using again. I'm not claiming to be any kind of expert on his equipment, but I think he also had a white Starchild, a light blue one and a salmon pink one as I recall. He probably had a shed load of them. They have such a rich sound and are beautiful instruments. He really is some bass player. How he can pull off those really complicated riffs and sing at the same time is incredible. I never liked the Status basses he used for years without the headstock. I thought the sound was really tinny. The Fender limited edition blue bass was lovely, as was his Alembic and GB. What a collection of incredible instruments he must have.

      @user-xv2kk5fe5b He received around seven or eight Jaydees back in their heyday. I know he gave one, which was an 8-string, to Verdine White of Earth, Wind, and fire when White was producer on the 'True Colours' album. He gave the pearl pink one to one of his bass techs. He acquired the original Starchild bass from the director of the band's official website by buying it back from him. Mark still had his main SA003 and a cherry red Jaydee Calibas bass that Jaydee built for his birthday, though he's never played it in public. He gave some of his basses away for charity such as the bass seen in the 'Lessons In Love' video and the 'Living It Up' videos. Those were built by Ashley-Pangborn, very similar to the Jaydee. Mark put in an order for the new cherry red Jaydee back in early 2020 for the 2021 tour thru the present. It takes almost a year and a half for Jaydee Guitars to complete one bass. Mark just bought a brown Jaydee from John Diggins which was completed as the order was canceled by the original future owner. He bought that bass as the backup for the original Starchild which was suffering from issues due to its age. The main reason he went back to the Jaydee was because Status no longer builds basses due to Rob Green closing his shop because Green was suffering from cancer. And the fans wanted to see and hear Mark bring his Jaydees out of retirement for the fans. John Diggins is overrun with new bass orders because of Mark bringing them back on tour.

      Thanks for the info. You really know your stuff. I dream of owning a Jaydee Supernatural one day - when life stops getting in the way and I can afford one. @@wecanrebuildhim

      Mark ordered this new bass from John Diggins back in early 2020. With Status no longer producing basses, Mark had planned using his Jaydees after 35 years since he last used them on tour.

    Yes some comments about vocals too low but its the recording position I'd say sounds like he's in front of the bass rig!

    Terrible balance in every way, brass ruin it and can barely make out Mike's vocals, pitch is dreadful at times.
    A far cry from their 80s heyday.

      Yeah, whoever was on front of house had a shocker here with Mark's vocal. Thank god his Jaydee sounds as good as ever.

    The singing was not great and the sound system clearly had issues. At the beginning of The Chinese Way, you couldn't hear him properly despite the fact that he was singing into a microphone. Terrible. Not a great performance.

    I'm a huge fan, but his voice is not in tune these days, and Mike is weak too The dance routine, if you call it that, is so naff.

    If he's going to put the brass section centre instead of the drums then they need to have much better discipline and some actual choreography; they really look cringe.

    • @A1B2C3-y6k
      @A1B2C3-y6k 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed, I hate seeing the drum kit at the side. It doesn't look right. Brass is better with it's own corner.
