They are dressed up as "Chinese" with those stereotypical hats and waving lanterns about. As a leftie and being very PC and extremely woke, I find this video HIGHLY OFFENSIVE!

Colin - yes, indeed. Although Jamiroquai were a good band/act, I found their material a bit repetitive, particularly the bass lines. Level had a lot of depth and musical ability beyond anything Jamiroquai could produce.

Love Level 42 - have done since a teenager and I’m only 26! My dad was born in 1968 and damn I wish I could go back into his shoes and experience the 80s in my teenage years!
Level 42 - The Chinese Way: Take a journey back in time Leave the western world behind Cross the mountains to Peking Where the paper laterns gently swing The Chinese way Who knows what they know The Chinese legend grows The Chinese way Who knows what they know The Chinese legend grows My eyes wide open I feel a breeze Words softly spoken In Cantonese Standing at the master's side Then with patience he confides Secret knowledge, sacred ways Pearls of wisdom from the dragon days I could never lie For honor I would die Following the Chinese way So many years ago Heroes ruled the world (Some died for love in a cruel world) They were the only ones in a cruel world I could never lie For honor I would die Following the Chinese way From the mountains to Peking Where the paper lanterns gently swing The Chinese way Who knows what they know The Chinese legend grows The Chinese way Who knows what they know The Chinese legend grows
This song reminds me of my dad who died in the 80s In a horrific car crash in china where he was on holiday. His body was horrifically disfigured by the impact and I have never been able to get the image of seeing his corpse out of my head. He loved level42 probably.
Maybe not the best one, but definately the most spectacular one. And I think, no other one was able to play, sing and move the way he did at the same time.
does anyone here know the brand of mark's shirt? i've been looking for that shirt for a long time after seeing him, nick beggs, and simon le bon wear it.
What a shame they dudn't use the original audio from the BBC broadcast. I know they'd be miming to the same thing but still! Whoever created this doesn't remember the Thursday night studio sound of TOTP.

Simply one the best bands to come out of the 1980’s.They are definitely on Level 42.

Level 42 - The Chinese Way:
Take a journey back in time
Leave the western world behind
Cross the mountains to Peking
Where the paper laterns gently swing
The Chinese way
Who knows what they know
The Chinese legend grows
The Chinese way
Who knows what they know
The Chinese legend grows
My eyes wide open
I feel a breeze
Words softly spoken
In Cantonese
Standing at the master's side
Then with patience he confides
Secret knowledge, sacred ways
Pearls of wisdom from the dragon days
I could never lie
For honor I would die
Following the Chinese way
So many years ago
Heroes ruled the world
(Some died for love in a cruel world)
They were the only ones in a cruel world
I could never lie
For honor I would die
Following the Chinese way
From the mountains to Peking
Where the paper lanterns gently swing
The Chinese way
Who knows what they know
The Chinese legend grows
The Chinese way
Who knows what they know
The Chinese legend grows
