I put 1.25 spacers on my 2011 jeep liberty with 43,xxx miles with ko2's and let me tell ya, ain't worth it. I had to replace the cv axles (both sides) twice and they were going out AGAIN. Right before it was time to fix or park it that 3rd time I traded it in for a new taco. Bought the jeep in Nov of 16'. To be fair I can't say for sure it was the spacers but I had zero problems till I put them things on.
Nice truck man. I have an '18 Sport and LOVE it and have done several of these modifications as well. I also went with the KO2s and got some Gear rims and also a lift kit. I put the Tacoma raised inserts into the tailgate too. I didn't do the spacers because I'd heard it can put undue and more stress on the axle than is recommended, but it looks fantastic.
Thanks for the comments! Yeah I’ve always heard the same thing about spacers, but in some circles the consensus seems to be that aftermarket rims do the same thing.. It’s always been a 50/50 debate, lol.
We have twin trucks! I've had mine about a month-and a- half. Love the look of yours and some of your "smart" upgrades. The tires look great on the stock rims which is what I was hoping to do too. Subbed 👍
I find it weird where people don’t use their car display screen for gps or Spotify. It doesn’t work? Or their just more comfortable using their phones?
My TRD Off Road came from the factory with blacked out badging. I HATE IT. So I’ll de-badge my truck and replace some parts with chrome. I’ll also buy a full chrome front grill. Gloomy Grey and Death Black has been shoved down everyone’s throats from Every automaker since 1990 and frankly it’s old and outdated. Yeah I’m showing my age but it’s my truck and my money. My truck also came with death black leather interior, so I promptly contacted Katzkin and had them make custom TRD Red Leather seat covers with black trim and stitching. After Katzkin removed the black leather and replaced it with the TRD Red, my friend bought the black leather from me and had it installed in his 23 TRD that had grey cloth interior. So he’s happy and I’m happy. I’m having the Overland Torque Tune installed into my Tacoma the end of May and after returning home I’m having my White TRD 2 toned in Barcelona Red following the body lines of my truck. I’ve already installed a K&N cold air intake, mud flaps, window vents, a Tri-Fold hard tonneau cover and running boards. For Christmas, Santa is bringing me a Flowmaster FlowFX dual exhaust system. Next year I’ll be installing power running boards and when I find the wheels that I like, I’ll be buying a set of 5.
@@WesleyAllenNC thanks. I was mostly wondering if I could fit those exact tires and size on my truck. I have the same truck in Voodoo blue and I have run those tires on 3 trucks in the past. Didn’t really want to lift mine though.
Did you have to trim a little from the wheel studs to add those wheel spacers? I am checking since you have the 1.25". I believe 1.5' or more you have to cut the studs. But I'm asking if you did that? I am looking into getting those 1.25''. Good video though bro.
Hey thanks. No I didn’t have to do any cutting , just bolted down with the loctite to specs. I think it was like 19 or 20 foot pounds? Would have to double check on that though
Great video, I was wondering if you could help me. I really like your tires. My rims are 18" what size tire would I need to put on my 18" rims to get the same result. Also about your grill, did you buy a new and paint it or was it the stock one and you painted it? I really like it.
Love the video man, the only thing I disagree with is the K02 tires. They do work, and perform well. But they arent even close to the falkens or openranges. Those tires last way way longer than a tire should😂
@@WesleyAllenNC the falkens definitely last the longest, i do agree the KO2s look very good, and are a decent tire. But if your looking for the best then i wouldnt do anything but falken
I like your mods on your Tacoma, I have a 2018 SR & just bought some mud flaps & I'm looking for some 4x4 white vinyl decals but can't find any, have any idea where to find them?
I was thinking of Color matching that plastic piece of trim at the bottom of the front bumper to match the rest of the truck like you did yours. I know that going down the road that part of the bumper takes a beating from road debris. How has your painted surface held up to that so far?
BARELY. And it was only at full-turn (mostly coming down my steep driveway at a turn.) I ran them for a long time without the spacers. You can also do it but may need to cut-out a tiny little corner of your fender that’s closest to your brake pedal..
Okay cool I was worried with the offset on the stock sport wheels but everyone says I should be okay and but I just keep looking for clarification. Thank you.

Awesome video. I assume your truck is stock height (no lift or level)? With the upsize in tire and the wheel spacer, did you get any rbbing? I have the upsized tires and want to add spacers on mine, but was unsure about rubbing. Cheers!
No rubbing I run 265/70/17s on mine. Runs like a charm. Great size tire for a daily/some off road/ and better traction if you live in an area where it snows or rains a lot.
on the gas cap, that clip on the very end is what you plug your gas cap into for that very reason which i learned through another video but you dont need that extra mod..
The 265/70/17’s fit stock with a TINY amount of rubbing on the front tires. It was a super easy trim. I since added a 2” Rough Country spacer up front and a 1” Supreme Suspensions block in the back, effectively leveling the truck. The lift isn’t required but looked sick! I made a separate video on that
White grill looks clean, but the gas cap holder is the most useless mod. I’ve seen it on other Tacos. No need for a holder. Let it dangle lol. It causes no damage or discomfort whatsoever. People just want to spend money. Just to have whatever is in the market.
Overall a good video, however the inside shots show how nasty your interior is. Might wanna grab that vacuum cleaner before recording the next tutorial :-)
Actually the indents on the gas cap are meant to sit on the top offset trim of the fuel door. Not sure why you would need an extra holder, the one that comes on the door works fine.
Hate to be negative but the white front end looks like shit on a white horse.and where is the pistol holster it works like your phone holder, still to white up front, my opinion only, great truck.
