I don't go to a "hand raising church," so whenever I'm in a service with people raising their hands, I think of this video. And have to try really hard to not laugh and focus on the song.
I do laugh when I catch myself doing the "heartburn" to "mufassa" but you know, I feel the spirit laughing with us ...as long as we don't let it steal our worship...we can laugh and enjoy worship...God knows our hearts and laughter is great medicine. Hugz!
My mom "Washes the Windows" every single time we're in worship. I attend church with my mom all the time, so whenever we leave I end up with a black eye because my mom "washes the Windows" right into my worship space. -___-

I love Tim Hawkins. This video cracks me up I am a hand raiser in a not so hand raising Baptist church But they love me and I love them And I have notice its a little countagious
Hilariously accurate. I remember taking my Southern Baptist Mother to my Non Denominational Church, and she visited a couple of times. Nothing the first Sunday, second Sunday, palms up about waist high(on her waist). 😂
I have 2 more to add onto this: 1. The cross 2. The T-Rex 🦖 And I feel that I don’t even need to explain what they are cos we all what they are and who does them. I mean there has been times when people have been “washing the windows” and moved right into my worship space and nearly hit me in the face

Mine is even subtler than carry the Tv, I do it at my non hand raising church sometimes, I just cup my hands together facing upwards on the pew in front of me. I call it “check out this cool bug I found”
At the risk…haha, God is a funny God!! He loves to laugh!! If we can't laugh at ourselves, with God…If we can't have fun!! Than Idk…Joy is such a good thing.
Where does the BIBLE say God is a funny God? We need to be cautious giving attributes to God that are not mentioned in the bible simply because we like them. God may be a funny God, and he may not be. Either way, He is still God.

robert sanchez he wasn’t putting anyone down, of all of God’s creation we need to have the utmost care. Worship is what we are made for. He is the potter we are only clay. Worship should always be centered on God not what makes us entertained
I would take an old Baptist Minister friend of mine to Gaither Concerts when they would come to town. He told me an interesting thing. He said you can tell the Baptist from the Charismatics because the Baptists only raise one hand. As the concert was going. I caught myself looking at the crowd more than I was looking at Bill and Gloria to see where the Baptists were setting.
You think God doesn't see this and laugh himself? I like to think that our great merciful, forgiving, loving, joyful God isn't so quick to be offended by stuff like this.
You're both very right! I admit I giggled at this only because I realize he was exaggerating for the most part. Some of those I've never seen before and I think he was just making it up to exaggerate 'levels' at which people raise their hands. But really, this was more of a miss with Tim because people have different levels of comfort and ways of worshiping.
Saw a guy standing behind me at church one morning and he literally looked like he was trying to land a plane . . . .if he has big orange gloves on i would have ducked for cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If we are being technical it would be the Rafiki because he was the one who held Simba like that at the top of Pride Rock. Simba just sat there and got held. But Mufasa is more fun to say...say it again ;)
When doing the double light bulbs, if you have open palms with your fingers pointed up would you call that one the "don't shoot"? I noticed myself doing it in church yesterday.
I don’t need to physically reach out to God because he’s already reached out to me with the Holy Spirit. As long as I remain faithful he will not let go of me, and unfaithful as I had been at times; he never let go of me still.
Not bad, but he needs to get on the three latest ones - Kari Jobe's "dribble the basketball", the Hillsong Flying Squirrel, and the Bethel balance beam.

I've gone to a Lutheran church ever Sunday, except for may be once or twice when I went to a Catholic church with relatives. Then, I attended a service with my friends, who go to a "hand raising church". Imagine my surprise when everyone was raising their hands during service! I had never seen or done anything like that before, I was so scared! xD
There is one reference to hand-raising in worship in Scripture for the church, and it applied to the men in leading prayer. (I Tim 2:8). The point? I believe the men lifted their hands during prayer in the early church, else why would Paul mention it? But the point is a man of holiness ("holy hands") in life as he led the Lord's church in prayer. It was not an activity during worship for everyone to do.
During church once, we were singing a really serious song and I almost burst out laughing because this video popped into my head.
