Looks great. I was hoping for more of the attention to detail (fitment) that goes into getting the pans into place. Just started getting parts and pieces for my F150 cab/floorpans delivered.
Thanks for watching Norm! The fitment process ranged from 4 to 6 different times of trimming to get the exact fit we were after. It is buy far the most tedious of the process!
Im going to be replacing the floor pans in my 70 nova, and I am going to be teaching myself how to weld soon. What brand / style of welder did you guys use?
nice man i know you said you were new at this but i still wouldve liked to see your side and hear your thoughts on where you couldve done better or tried something different but good video
Thank you for watching! With Tyler coming out to help this Nova was in good hands. I wish I would have spent 30 minutes practicing on my scrap metal before starting on the driver side welding.
This actually is giving me more confidence to tackle my floor pans. I’m going to practice my welding a little first though.
Defiantly do that! I wish I would have done some warm up practicing before starting on the welding portion of the floors!
So good works!👍
Thanks a lot!
Nice work. I'm trying to finish up my floor pans in my 1968 Impala. Thanks for sharing and new subscriber.
Thanks for the sub! Good luck on your project!

Nice! I have to do the same thing eventually :/
Oh man! I am sorry to hear this Billy!
I was just going to say the same thing. I have had my floor pans sitting on my shelf for a year now >_
What should this cost to repair? I'm going to take mine into the body shop
what quotes did you get?
The floor patches look good!
Thanks Brian! It's all starting to come together now!

good job
Thanks for watching!
Malco shears are great
agreed, so satisfying
I wish you guys lived by me so i could have some help do mine.
How much do you think it would cost to cut and patch/ install new floor panels on a mk3 gti
depends on the region and the amount of labor hours. If you do it yourself with welder and materials I would say $750-1500.
What gauge metal were the floor pans?
I do not remember. Measured to set the welder up but bought a patch panel for each side.
do you have to take out the engine to do the floorpan?
No you do not. I just happen to be doing a ls swap that has taken longer than I care to admit lol!
@@Autofaze but it is recommended to drain your windshield washer fluid first.
Can yal come do a 66 Super Sport Impala for me
What about the bottom side?
What do you mean Brian?
@@Autofaze yeah like underneath the car?
What type of welder was used for the floor pans
Miller 141 driverside & Miller 211 passenger side
@@Autofaze fluxcore or using gas?
OverKill . but if your racing it i understand
agreed! We were there so why not. Car will never see weather again so these should be the last floors it gets in this lifetime.
embrace your welds man the only people who will talk shit are the ones who cant weld lol
That's real talk! Got to start somewhere ♥️, it will hold 🤣
But welding is better.
