    Glad I found this! Great job! I have a 2002 TT MK1 with a leaking heater core. I replaced the radiator recently, so I am ready for this job. Done two other heater cores, one on a Chevy Silverado truck and long ago on a Ford Fairmont with an inline 6 cylinder engine. I'll need the video on the heater matrix box, so I will be looking to save it also. I think I should pull the seats too, for convenience and much needed deep cleaning. I love my TT and want to teach my daughters how to drive a stick shift. I plan to also to replace the turn signal mechanism and have the instrument panel refurbished because the screen lost many pixels. Thank you for your effort! Cheers,

    I watched this video a couple of times. Finally attempted this to address heater core, bend doors and AC. Would never want to do it again but it worked and all back together. Thank you.

      @BWSTT now I have to bleed the abs module, brakes and clutch.... 3.5 years later may have it on the road in a week or so. Do you have any videos of bleeding with vagcom? I have watched so many of your videos over the last couple of years.

    Get ya self a selfie stick with a magnet at one end with a telescopic fitting in between and a tightening spherical bearings too boot.
    A good magnet can grip on tiny bits of steel.

    Have you ever had to replace/repair the blend door gear/actuator? Our 2002 just started making a clacking sound when the temperature control is either turned on or off. Is this a DIY job to the best of your recollection? Love your videos :) thanks 0:03

    Thank you for the video had to watch it a couple of times for the airbag connector. On the steering angle sensor on the steering wheel if if turns is thar a problem? Also how would you suggest reattaching the tweeter wires when putting back together? Have to do blend door foam, heater core and AC. .

    That’s actually not as bad a job as I thought - that said, no plans to attempt that any time soon 😂 Would love to retrim the dash one day, looks like its at least doable. Thanks for the vid!

    Excellent video and EXTREMELY helpful. I do have one question - I disconnected my negative battery terminal before I started, removed the dash to repair my foamless heater blender doors and put it all together. All went well, but now I have an Airbag light in my dash cluster. Is this typical and if so, how do I clear it? The wiring is all back as it was. Thanks again, I do hope you have the time to keep making videos!

    Surprisingly easy job to do IF you have the instructions and patience. I have almost no mechanical experience until the last 2 years and did this (twice) on a pre-2000 bimmer to replace the evap, with great success.

      As someone with limited experience, how long did it take you? I need to get to some of the vents and dismantling the dash seems like the best way to do it but I'm not sure if I can pull it off. Definitely have the patience, but maybe not the time.

    Instead of removing the steering wheel you can drop the column down with 4 alen bolts which will give lots of room especially with seats out

    If you've removed the glovebox, the steering bottom cover, the middle console a few times or fitted an aftermarket radio, its not that difficult, it takes time, organization and many phone pictures. Oh and get some spare speednuts from Audi where those T25s go, they're 60p a piece and it will help things fit well and tight with no creaks afterwards (many screws will not tighten because of busted speednuts from previous repairs), part number N90356203. I have had the heater matrix done at a shop, now I would definitely do it myself good and proper.
    Thanks for the video!

    Dude, this video has been a godsend. Thank you! My sisters TT had a damaged dash and I got one for £40 from a breakers and managed to change it thanks to you. One question though, the car is. 2005 3.2 VR6 coupe and it doesn’t have the steering angle sensor like yours. Is that normal?!

    Did you ever get around to making a video to remove the heater matrix? I've dismantled the entire front but struggling now to access the matrix inside the black ducting - cant find how to dismantle. If anyone can give any advice as im sure there are some hidden fixings I cant see.

    So I have what seems like a bad/ leaky heater core/matrix but when I did trans swap I dropped the motor out of the last remaining motor mount not to big of deal only dropped few inches (strap to hold motor up wasn’t tight) anyways it broke the coolant line fittings running into the dash and I have to replace them they broke in the engine bay before the dash but after everytbing is complete I get foggy windows and it smells like coolant in the car! My question is could the smell be from when it cracked and shot a bunch of fluid up towards the dash maybe it dripped down in there and that’s what I’m smelling it’s pretty strong or is it for sure a leaky or bad heater matrix? Is there an easier way to tell if it’s leaking before having to rip apart the dash maybe I just have coolant spilled all over the inside of the dash and I can just dry it out.?!?!?

    • @BWSTT
      @BWSTT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Could be the internal doors, they have foam on them that breaks down

  • @OhsoScary
    @OhsoScary 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If you haven’t done it yet, for door ding protection, get a tube of the foam water pipe insulation and cut a length to slide on those wise swinging Tt door edges.
