Thanks!! Best video on youtube, following it I was able to fix my cluster with no previous soldering experience!! I had you by my side all the time :D
I broke some traces (own fault) when taking the old LCD out, due to too much force and not applying enough heat.... Luckily I managed to hotwire them and the new display works. It was a hell of a fight though 😵💫

Thank you very much! I replaced mine with an 6dollar one from AliExpress.
The problems that I encountered are:
Difficulty removing temp and gas needles.
Immobilizer didn't work for an hour after connecting back the dash
Great information. I would have worn watchmaker fingertip covers while touching the black dial. Would have been nice to clean the inside of the glass on the display clocks when you had the front cover off.
You can get AUDI TT display ones from china which is already offset with cables. The lcd used in this video is for AUDI's VDO. You should have choosen LCD compatible with AUDI TT ones. Which fits properly and no need to bend the ribbon cables after install. Just a suggestion :)
Hi Rashid, thanks for your comment. But you can't compare our LCD with the standard quality from China. Ours are much better. The LCD we install in the TT has a universal cable. Therefore it fits in Jaeger and VDO. We developed it especially so that you only need 1 LCD for both versions! ;)

Zunächst sehr gutes Videos, hervorragend erklärt und professionell durchgeführt! Eine Frage bleibt mir noch:
Bei dunklen Stellen ist dann der Prozessor defekt oder einfach die SMDs die nach den Jahren den Geist aufheben?
Hallo, was meinen Sie mit dunklen Stellen?
@@pixelfehlerhamburg9956 zum Beispiel leuchtet beim abbiegen links die led nicht im KI, Zeiger leuchten teilweise nicht und manche stellen der Hintergrundbeleuchtung funktionieren auch nicht.
Edit: habe jetzt alle smds neu aufgelötet und der Fehler ist weiterhin. Wenn ich das Board allerdings an den Tester anschließe und dann etwas hin und her biege leuchten mal alle SMDs und mal wieder nicht.
Es ist auch ein elektrisches „Brummen“ bei eingeschaltetem Licht zu vernehmen. Der Ursprung ist links auf de Platine.
Wäre sehr dankbar für einen Rat.

Hi, well done for this job, I have issue with the temp gauge, the pointer is not moving, staying on 50c, have idea what can be ?
There a some possibilities. Maybe the sensor? The stepper motor or other things on the pcb. Start with checking the sensor

So i replaced the cluster on my 2002 audi tt from another car and rpm gauge doesn't work . It's a rebuilt unit contacted seller and reason is the cluster needs to be programmed to the car. Anybody know if this is correct ?
I got mine fixed, but now it sounds like a washing machine.
What would cause a "washing machine" (loose gear) like sound when plugged to the car?

What needs to be wired on the blue connector for bench testing, is it just 12v and GND or are there other pins needed ? Thanks!
The pin out is in the video. Only 12 v and GND is required

Did you use the Vag com cable to set the indicator?

Sehr detailiertes Video, Ersatzdisplay bereits bei euch bestellt und sollte bald ankommen. Habe seit kurzem einen TT, neben dem Pixelfehler auch das Phänomen das nur mit Zündung, ohne laufendem Motor, die Öldruckwarnung mit Warnton erscheint. Habe mich daraufhin belesen, neben Sensor und Kabel könnte wohl es auch am KI selbst liegen - habt ihr hierzu Erfahrungen bzw. bietet ihr eine Reparatur an? Beste Grüße

Hi, I just did my lcd and the screen has lots of specks of red and I noticed some of the words are backwards 😅 . Did I solder it on backwards? Looks same as yours.
I don´t know without any pictures. Maybe some older issues.
@@pixelfehlerhamburg9956 I got it fixed. Just too much solder. I removed it and cleaned it up and made it work. I also fixed the fuel and temp guage illumination by resoldering the resister above lcd screen. But I need to figure out what to do to fix the speedometer needle illumination. Is goes off and on when bumped.
I can't find the "motor" of the gas indicator. How can I find it? what is the proper name or the reference number si i can buy it on autodoc. Thank you

Hi Carlos, and you bought our "universal" Lcd? When you solder it there are 4 contacts at the left side not connected. You checked it? You can send me also some pictures. saludos dirk
