- Have you ever pushed a Toad for over an hour? I have. Would not recommend.
Sequence-breaking glitches are pretty cool. Taking a linear game and playing it out of order makes it more replayable, plus, there are sometimes unique side effects. If you were to beat Chapter 2 after obtaining the Ultra Boots, for example, you could enter the Dry Dry Ruins without placing the Pulse Stone in the rock. MovMarioPaper found that out a few years ago. Here's the original discovery video: • Video
There is a certain community of people that are very interested in sequence-breaking glitches: speedrunners! Ever since the Dry Dry Ruins loading zone was found to be active regardless of story progress, they were searching for a way to reach it without the Ultra Boots. It was eventually theorized that a Kooper Super Jump could work, but this would require falling out of bounds. Unfortunately, no out of bounds glitches were possible in that room.
Until now. But, let's just say it sucks. And speedrunners hoping to get out of bounds quickly will not be very happy :(
As a side note, I'm not sure who discovered Early Toy Train. It has been known since before Blue House Skip, and documentation back in the 2012 era is difficult to find. If anyone has information on this please let me know.

Generally most glitches in many Mario or Zelda games seem super difficult for casual players, in my opinion.

With all these skips, you've effectively turned Paper Mario into an open-world game.

Early Train was actually found the exact same day as Blue House Skip. I was asleep so I don't know which one came first, lol. It was found by a Japanese TASer whose name I don't remember. That same night I found that you could Toad Clip into Chapter 4 as well. So in a game where it wasn't known to be able to skip chapters, three different methods of skipping multiple chapters were found the exact same night.
Was it Kage Mitsu? Or did he work on the game after?

This actually sounds like it could be useful for some kind of low% speedrun, actually. Low% All Stars or something like that. It'd be an awful category, what with pushing an NPC for at least an hour, not to mention who knows what other awful tricks. But it'd be interesting, honestly.

these are the realspeedrun strats
I did the early toy train one and got softlocked (just FYI for new people [like me] to glitching and don't want a softlock). If you use the toy train and then go to the blue area at the right where the goomba is and defeat him, you can get the storeroom key. Then use the key and go in the empty storeroom. Then return to the road and the train is gone and you get softlocked. I'm very sure this isn't a new glitch or anything.
P.S. Saving will create one of the easiest to make evil save files.
I know this is an old video but you're my favorite creator on this platform. I didn't care at all about paper Mario before I found this channel but now I do, and I love watching everything you make. Thanks for just. Making good videos and showing how cool this game is
You can hear Stryder's tone shift as he talk shows about different things in the video. It's kind of fascinating. When he talks about most Paper Mario things, it's with a calm enthusiasm and well-earned confidence. Anytime he talks about this glitch, however, it is with seething hatred, sometimes with exhaustion and exasperation thrown in for flavor. It is the voice of a man who has devoted years to this game, learning and discovering many a quirk and exploit, and who has dedicated a portion of this time to what amounted to a waste, something that benefits none and only brings a thinning of patience in its wake. The thirst for discovery has uncovered something horrid but ultimately irrelevant, and this is the man who tells the world of it.

There's only so many games so accessible at a TAS level of depth with current technology, & even fewer with the depth of gameplay & glitchyness as Paper Mario.
