    Things that stood out to me:
    Ball links for suspension linkages
    Better ground clearance
    3 link with panhard bar up front
    New chassis design
    I think this rig is worth it for the body and chassis just needs electronics to be sorted. I will have more videos on this rig coming soon!

    I love that they finally introduced this as an rtr and with a newly redesigned chassis and suspension to boot!
    I love these 1/16-1/12 scale hard body rc's. They hold a special place in my heart. Their aren't the best performers but they look soooo good doing what they can.

    A great trail video, the surroundings are awesome. Some good shots in here too with this new model slowly going up the rocks. Appreciating your balanced opinion, based on experience with this model and the brand. I did rebuild a C24 from used parts which I liked but I did not get it running, just for a Winter "wrenching" project. The C54 body does
    look smart.
    Thank you for taking us on your favorite local trail, very nice 👍

      Thanks for stopping by! I got into WPLs as a experiment. Got all 4 of the c24/c14 one of each color. For the price I got them for they at least will be great for display. I am a Toyota fanboy so I gave them a try. I think its been 4 years now and still enjoying my WPLs as much as other rigs I own. They aren't for everyone but that's whats cool about them. It would be a boring world if we all where into the same things and nothing different was around to like. This new chassis will hopefully be good to build on.

    I love how WPL is constantly upgrading and the rigs get better and better. You should try thicker motor and battery wires before you ixnay the esc. You might also try swapping the battery with a lipo

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Definitely going to try thicker wires with a lipo. Then continue from there.

    • @Isuzu_Paul
      @Isuzu_Paul ปีที่แล้ว

      I know the li-ion have a chip on them to keep the batteries from over drawing current. One reason lipos seem to have more 'punch'.
      I currently have the same issue with my mn86sb. I even swapped out the motor to a 380 crawler motor (35t) using an axial 40 amp esc.
      I would honestly think about getting their 15 amp esc and go from there.

    The tires seem to not grip enough. They do go round. Maaan ! I was so looking forward to this one and Im a bit disappointed. There doesnt seem to be much low end torque.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Im not sute if mine has an issue but it definitely doesn't have the slow speed torque. The tires are the rtr compound so they are stiff. I do still like the new chassis and linkage design so upgrade time!

    Nice video mate! I dunno much about rc car parts, so with KM version, what suspension did you have on it cause it looked a lot softer than the RTR and also, how did ya get it to crawl slower? Cheers!

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The white LC80 is using aftermarket electronics but the chassis is a C24KM with 2 speed gearbox. I will have more videos up soon on more upgrades to make this rtr hopefully as good as my white LC80.

    Without being in bad faith, there is only good bodywork at WPL.
    I would add that the chassis strongly resembles the MN99S which is also crap.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got into wpl because of the c24s and c14s (kits). Cheap kits for giggles. Then I built one up and was impressed. Before these I was a brand snob and you wouldn't catch me messing with cheap or no name stuff (Grew up with nitro RCs).
      Got a mn d90 Defender kit and wasn't as impressed but still had fun with it.
      The red shocks and silhouette may make it look like a mn chassis. I can assure you its way better than anything mn has released. Not having to leave slop in the suspension links and suspension themselves so they can move freely is one huge upgrade imo. Now links are all ball jointed and articulation is smooth and links are properly secured. The plastics used seem better quality as well. They can still do better but its the right step. It is a 16th scale hardbody rtr for less than $100 usd. I can't complain about the rtr electronics because most change that no matter the rc brand anyways.

    • @ashleybarrett8805
      @ashleybarrett8805 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are fantastic RTR’s, and a brand that truly listens to their customers and continuously improves their stock
      For a bunch of cars you can get from between £25-£50 delivered within 11 days to your door, nothing much to complain about. Parts support are plenty including upgrades which cost less than a Costa coffee
      And there’s me with 1/8 Tekno buggies, 1/5 short course trucks and a heap of stuff I’ve spent thousands on. These are just great especially to go out with your kids on vehicles that a small enough to trail and crawl around the garden. Hell, even the house

    • @gabrielpichardo1492

      Not compared to the other c series trucks . Remember. This here c54 WPL will keep making it better, the traxxas will just stay the same for ever

    • @bidibulle6795
      @bidibulle6795 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gabrielpichardo1492 I don't think so, the traxxas will evolve too.
      Personal WPL I stopped 1 years ago already, I will never take another one again, for the price of this thing we have 1000 times better today.
      As you say we can not compare even if the two are the same price!
      wpl will not be at the level of traxxas or axial for a long time or never!
      By the time the traxxas or axial will have released another even better RC...

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Everyone has there own preference and as for my WPL experience. It's been mostly positive. I have 2 trx4ms and one has a furitek system and I still prefer running my WPLs. If you can build them right (which I seem to see a ton of people not getting it right) they are more fun to me because I like to tinker.
      I like the fact that you have to be talented enough to make stuff work vs just buying stuff that just goes together like Lego which doesn't take any skill. In the technician world we call those types "parts installers".

    • @sqweezzstr
      @sqweezzstr ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wasted hundreds of dollars on them, assembled "correctly", shimmed properly and honestly... total pieces of shit. Looks great sitting on your shelf. This RTR is barely an upgrade from anything of their fleet. Ooo, adjustable shocks, to turn them from poop, to even more poop with a stiffer preload. People like Edward who runs WPL are laughing all the way to the bank.
      I've hopped off the cheap chinese band wagon awhile ago after realizing how much better it performs just sitting on a shelf

    Improving the chassis is great but at the cost of power loss is terrible.
    This is supposed to be a all around upgrade, I didn't see that in your video.
    I got frustrated just watching it struggle up the hill. Definitely not an upgrade IMO.
    WPL has been in the game long enough now, I expect more from them as a company. This is unacceptable to me on their part.
    Where's the quality control, someone at WPL had to test this thing before releasing for sale.
    It's not like they don't have better motor/drive systems already available.

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      16th scale hardbody for less than $100 I knew it was going to need electronics upgrades. I mean even my $150 dollar trx4ms got electronics upgrades as well, yes I know they are still better out the box than this rtr electronics, but the chassis changes makes me want to mod and see what this can do with proper modulation so it doesn't get all footloose on then trails hahaha. An RTR that doesn't need or that you don't have the need to upgrade would be great for sure.
