So lovely! While the distressed look isn’t my personal aesthetic, you elevated the refurb to an art form. And I really like the concept of the pieces being a set. Like Clinton and Stacy always said, the pieces don’t have to match; they just have to go [together]! Well done! You are very gifted at your craft!
I think people are staying away from a perfect match these days anyway. Thank you so much for your kind words, and not sure why but I agree with you, the bronze metal paint instead of an actual distressed does elevate the look.
I will admit, I had my doubts when you started dabbing on the gray paint, but then adding that copper color really did it! I have never seen this finishing touch done before but I think maybe we will really start seeing it😊 Nice job!
I was thinking the same thing! I love what furniture can remind us of- sometimes just a little more work and patience can bring amazing things. Another great job, Wallessa!
@@alexandra_sa_lazer Let me tell you, refinishing reminds me of that daily! It teaches me to persevere, to push through all the frustrations, and to find patience even when I think I have none left. It makes me a better human all around. And that's why Im here. ☺
I was struggling to see how you would be able to tie this together to make a matching set. But you nailed it! I really love how they turned out. And I love the silver and bronze around the edges. It wasn’t in your face and too much. Just enough to really make the piece pop. Looks amazing.
The “minor” changes that took me into a roller coaster of emotions we’re thankfully enough to make them look like sisters. 😊 And yes, I’m usually on the conservative side when I try techniques, that’s just me. Glad you enjoyed it!
Glad you like it, it’s not until the application of the bronze color that the transformation looks like the inspo piece. I see why you were skeptical. 😊
Nice job on these two! I love how you 'encouraged' them to match. I felt your pain with the screws (believe me). But, you kept going! Lovely, one-of-a-kind set. 🥰
This is my first time watching your channel. I enjoyed it! Great work! Dixie Belle paint is a bit thicker but it allows you to use less paint and reduces paint strokes when using a mister bottle with a brush. I also add slightly more water with my sprayer. Fortunately, the pigment stays strong and there is less over spray. Thank you for an informative video. I subscribed.😊
Welcome, glad you decided to join us in all the fun! And you’re right, even diluted, the paint kept it’s pigments which I was glad to see. It felt a bit grainy, but I know that’s typical for chalk paint and I was ok with that since this was a Farmhouse style.
I'm so happy that I found you. Love the paint technique at the end. Wondering if I could accomplish this look w/o All of your high-end drills(?) I guess, I could measure and have home Depot or Lowes do the cutting for me. Thanks, you make everything look possible.
These look amazing! ❤ I'm working on a piece now that I primed with shellac, but it made the surface too slick and the paint didn't stick. I ended up having to sand it all back off. Has this ever happened to you? Wondering what I did wrong since I've primed with shellac before and that didn't happen.
Normally, I scuff sand the shellac but I wait 1 hr before doing so. That gets rid of the glossiness. Humidity and high temps can affect the way it cures.

Beautiful job! I love that they aren’t exactly the same, their sisters, not twins! 😍Makes them more interesting to look at in my opinion. 👏🏻👏🏻
I like that, sisters, not twins. After all, it would be boring if we were all the same. 😊

It turned out great. I was skeptical but the paint combo was spot on.

WOW! They look great! I was a doubter but you sure had a vision and carried it out. Bravo!!!
Thank you! Trust the process right? 😊Thank you!

I'm glad you understand how frustrating it was! I had to take a break before jumping back into the part. And thank you so much!
They look great... and I can't believe how well you made them match!
Thank you, and thank you! The process was definitely fun and super easy.
