❤ A prince indeed❣️❣️❣️ another stunner❣️. I appreciate the hardware tip with the painters tape… that hardware is my nightmare. I always appreciate your tips, as I need reminders…🤭. - Jill
I love how you say you have no idea what you’re doing😂 taking that base off what’s the right call, I love how you gravitate towards 80s and 90s furniture and bring into there and now! This turned out beautifully and your tips just make sense. I know filming these and trying to pay your bills is time consuming, so thank you for your content! I appreciate you! 👍🏻
Note to self...invest in small dollies ... I have been scooping up decent quality pallets for free...with sweat equity I'm going to build my own work shop and make furniture and cat condos...you would be surprised what people throw out when done projects! I have started refurbishing my old furniture too.
I really love this piece. I do have a question. Do we need to paint the back of dressers too? The only reason why I ask is that when watching others videos they show spray painting the front and sides while it is inside a tent but I never see the back.
Unique, but not freak. Removing the skirt from this made all the difference. The legs look custom made for this. Black hardware over the black body really does work, not something most would do, though. The original hardware wasn't bad, but there was too much of it on the top drawers. The new does look current now. I have never heard of the light stain that is a stain and not a white wash. It's also a nice touch to provide touch up and cleaning instructions with the sale, it shows you care. I cannot find new furniture made this well now at any price. I wouldn't doubt the buyer's grandchildren will eventually own it. Low key style, but elegant. Fantastic job.
Yes! I hope so! This thing is so heavy! It's a beautiful piece. I hated it when it first arrived in my garage. It sat for awhile until inspiration struck! Have a great week!
Great job, but I do have two questions. 1. How do you recommend hiding the filled in hardware holes (I could still see them on the finished product) and 2. Do you recommend prepping and refinishing the insides and sides of the drawers as well?
Great to see the finished piece after watching your Live stream (FYI did you forget to post the link above?). The feet look really great, nice choice of style. As a new business I really liked Tip 5 customer appreciation for repeat business. I'll add this to my business as it is low cost/high return. Right now I offer people a 10% discount for repeat business and so far it has received good vibes and 2 customers have taken advantage of it. But, my bigger issue is initial sales, not repeat business - FB Mplace is such a swamp of scammers, ghosters, etc, its so energy draining compared to the furniture restoration side that I love...
really awesome transformation...i love how yall took off the bottom deco....i think that's what dates it so much. i didn't see the brand on the small circular saw. it is great how he can cut the pieces where eve they are...

Hi! I am watching your video doing an update on two nightstands by painting them black. You shared your husband has lost his job yet again and you are in “hustle mode”. I know the wind has been knocked out of your sails because it is a scary time! I am looking as you are as to how He will make beauty from Ashes!!!!
He constantly does that in my life! God will come up victorious once again in this situation. We’re excited to see what He will do…but the waiting..is always the trickiest! Thanks for the comment!
I am wondering about hinges. It seems like sometimes you paint them and sometimes you tape or even remove them. How do you decide what to do with them?
Kara, as always, great job! That dresser looks so much better. Love the black, love the new feet. I’m always impressed with your work. I’m still praying for you and your family. When one door closes, God will always open another. Something great is coming your way. God bless.
This is a nice piece and I do prefer the new legs. How or in what do you give your customers extra product(paint)in? Also you had mentioned you’d list the video of how you soundproof your compressor but I’m having a hard time locating it:/ thank you
Kara, What are your cleaning instructions for a long lasting finish? I'm curious as to what you tell your customers to use? Thank you for sharing so much about your business and all your great Tips!! Love it & Very helpful. 😊
Hello! I’ll tell them 30 days to cure so no drinks, heavy items ect. If they can keep everything off it it would be best! Damp cloth for dusting is preferable. No pledge! Hope that helps!
I imagine that the Dallas market would bear a higher price than KC, where I am. So I guess 900.00. Thank you for posting your tips. The one that I liked the most was using an all-in-one paint. Overtime, that could save a lot of money & time.
Thanks for watching! Yes! I am so heavily leaning into my all in one stash right now! There are some really great ones out there! And so easy to work with!
Hi, after watching so many of your videos I see you painting your furniture outside or semi-outside in your open garage but how do you stop flies/bugs and dust sticking to your wet projects?
I am enjoying your videos so very much and they are so informative! Thank you for such great content! I have not found the brand name and model gravity fed sprayer mentioned on your videos. Which one do you use?
I kinda liked the old hardware, but this is definitely a nice upgrade. Love the stain on top, haven't tried that one before. I'm in metro Atlanta market, maybe 800?
I've seen a lot of your videos and love them. But was curious as to what would be your design process, when you look at a piece of furniture. Do you try out drawing n coloring before you use the actual paint? Or use apps to try the same? Coz it's wonderful how the furniture turn out to be.
Thank you so much! I really just stay within the design trends that sell in my area. I can usually “see” what I want it to look like before I start and go from there. I know that’s not very helpful!
I look to see what other flippers price for in my area. A good starting point (in my opinion) is double the price of the piece and double the price of your materials. SO on this one it would be $200 + $200= $400 at least you know you have more than broke even. However...dressers like these sell for around $700 in my area so I would be WAY underpriced BUT I would know I made my margins and I would know I could ask for more next time! Hope that helps! That's how I started.
Love your work Kara!! I am new to this and have a question: While your first coat of paint is drying for 3-4 hours, do you clean out the sprayer and then add more when ready to apply a second coat? Or is there a trick to not having to clean out the sprayer for a few hours? Thanks! :)
Hi! I must say I love the work that you do! I came accords you, and a few other select flippers, when I was recovering from dental surgery. I have been watching/following you for almost a year now, and it is because of you, I have decided to put my love of painting towards furniture! 😊 I do have a question though; I am curious, what about the sides and insides of the drawers and the inside of the doors. I noticed that the drawers were not stained with the birchbark stain. Is this normal practice? Thank you so much for the wonderful inspirations and guidance!
That dresser turned out awesome! Was wondering when you poly, do you do more than one coat, and do you sand between coats? Great tip for the hardware with the painters tape. Never thought of that🤟
