I have enjoyed your videos for a few years now. I can’t stress enough how valuable your untarnished opinion of a technique, paint, stain, stripper, etc. saves me time and money. I learn right along with you. Thank you for being here.
Ok, we aren’t having the last Debbie Downer comment take away from a trashed piece of furniture that Walessa beautifully up-cycled. Haters gonna hate. Walessa each time I watch you I’m amazed at your level of professionalism and talent. Your transparency is authentic. Keep doing what you do best… I’m here cheering you!
I honestly think many times people rush through the video or just watch pieces of it, and then assume things based on the short version they decided to watch. I expect some people like that. Thanks for the encouragement! ☺️
Love that look. The colors are perfect. With this being your 4th time and extremely satisfied with the results is encouraging. Rescuing a lot of these very old pieces, well its future is simply left to the artist’s imagination. Thank you for the tutorial and journey from old to new. You’re right about remembering: there’s always HOPE. 🌱 Looking forward to the next transformation.
Thank you! Glad you like it, and you’re so right. There are so many options and so many routes one can take when breathing new life into pieces. I love that so much about refinishing!
I have watched a ton of TH-camrs do this finish and have never been a fan because it always looked messy and very DIY. When you said you were going to do it, I was almost going to click off. I should have known better… That is the best linen look piece I have ever seen! And that you’ve only done it four times is amazing, and you got that camera close at the end, which is usually when you can see all the flaws. Awesome work and thanks for sharing every step.
Awwww glad you liked it, and thank you for the sweet comment. I’m sure my first couple of times looked pretty amateur, but each time we get a little bit better and that’s what is all about. 😊
Thank you! I would practice on a small piece of wood first until you feel confident. The look you get by mixing different ratios of the floeteol and paint can vary a lot. The process is definitely fun, I hope you try it sometime.
No regrets removing the bottom piece, ☺️and I wish you could see the technique better from afar. But, I agree, from up close it really looks like fabric. 😊
Wow! This is probably the best linen-finish I’ve ever seen! Amazing work! The piece turned out beautifully 👏
Well, thank you so much!
This is such a great instance of making lemons into lemonade. The linen look is fabulous!
Thank you! I sure tried making a good tasting lemonade 😊

Very beautiful. I’m so afraid to try this technique I’m afraid it won’t turn out. How many times did it take you to get it right the first time?

That turned out beautifully! Removing that wavy bottom piece was absolutely the right call. I love the color; looks like a crisp linen fabric.
No regrets removing the bottom piece, ☺️and I wish you could see the technique better from afar. But, I agree, from up close it really looks like fabric. 😊

RIP STEVE ALBINI
This is disappointing since you started out with a nice wooden piece of furniture that only needed a little love.
She loved it her own way !!!
Perhaps you missed the part where the moisture had soften the veneer permanently. Replacing it wouldn’t have been cost or time efficient.
If you are only interested in wood, you are in the wrong place. Quit being rude.
That is your personal preference that you are using to be rude.
This came out so well! I haven’t typically liked linen finishes because they often look amateur, but this…THIS! Good on you!
