Sabine's "Ria Talla" alias was originally going to be a Rebel pilot and companion to Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
no
no that was not me in here okay.
go backward that was not me in okay.
Man, New Fulcrum's voice filter is a lot less convincing than Old Fulcrum's filter was. I feel like it's incredibly easy to tell who's speaking lol
Yeah, I'm kinda surprised Rick and Calvin didn't identify it.
@@zephyr835 Well they kind of did, but they don't know it yet.
@@rogeliorocha7221 "It was just so obvious I didn't think I needed to say it"
To be fair, even without the voice it isn't really difficult. There is one imperial who has had literally any character development to this point.
Some new aspects I noticed this episode:
After seeing this reaction, I realized that Callus got a promotion at some point. He has three blue and two yellow bars now vs two blue, one grey, and one red.
Captain Skerris reminds me of the actor Tom Skerritt, from Top Gun. Coincidentally, both of their last names look almost identical. I think that was done on purpose.
Also at 6:19, it is ironic that he is preaching to the cadets to follow orders without question. That is literally how he dies; by not listening to Thrawn.
Well during the season 2 episodes where the Spectres went after Rex,Wolffe and Gregor he was promoted to Commander, IDK if he got demoted back (since they kept calling him Agent), anyway we all know what happens to him from this episode on.
There's no way Governor Pryce was not based on Cate Blanchett's character in Indiana Jones 4
Yeah they do look the same with the same haircut and similar gray uniform. However to be correct, she is a governor not a general.
@@captaincoolbreeze9429 And she was Russian!
Ah, good old Wedge.
Also, I think its pretty cool that it was Ahsoka who built the Fulcrum and Rebel Intelligence Networks.
And just like that...the Rebellion got one of the best starpilot of the entire Star Wars galaxy !! They just don't kow it yet. God do i love Wedge in all movie, crazy pilot in the first Death Star attacks, drop the first walker on Hoth, leader of Rogue Squadron doing crazy moves in the battle of Endor. The man of great occasions !
Bonus: Crazy fun to play in the 3 original Star Wars Rogue Squadron games !
Gunner in the attack on Exagol
"the Rebellion got one of the best starpilot of the entire Star Wars galaxy"
What? No, Commander Kettch isn't here yet.
Probably one of the top 5 non force sensitive pilots in Canon.
I actually am surprised that's Nathan Kress (Freddie from iCarly) providing the voice of Young Wedge Antilles in this episode, he does a good job voicing him although part of me did wish for Matt Mercer, who voiced Wedge in Disney Infinity to voice him instead, but to be fair, this is a younger Wedge Antilles hence why Nathan Kress voiced him here and their have been instances in the Star Wars animated series including the LEGO Star Wars Specials where they don't use the same voice actor as the same specific Star Wars character.
For instance, Tom Kane voiced Admiral Ackbar in the various different Star Wars video games (including Battlefront), _Star Tours: The Adventure Continues_ as well as the film _Star Wars: The Last Jedi_ (after Erik Bauersfield passed away) but didn't voice Ackbar in the Clone Wars Mon Cala arc where the role was given to Artt Butler.
Wait really? I didn't know that, I thought he sounded familiar
To be fair, Wedge and Ackbar were both much younger versions of the characters where they replaced the usual voice actor.
@@Compucles I know that hence why I mentioned before this was a younger Wedge hence why they used a different voice actor for him.
It's still wild to think that the guy who plays Freddie from iCarly (Nathan Kress) voices Wedge
The Colossus's model is a modification of the design used here for Skystrike academy. Very correct, Aaron.
It was because of this similarity that it wasn't a big surprise when it was revealed the Colossus could actually fly and go into space.
Kallus repays Zeb, it's these type of details to the story that made me love and respect the show
Round of applause for the wings of the TIE Fighters popping off like the ones on the toy did.
"He's the only pilot that has two Death Stars painted on his X-Wing, even Luke Skywalker can't claim that" I can't remember who said it or what book, but Wedge was my favorite non-force user character in all of Star Wars
I think it was Corran Horn in the Rogue Squadron series.
Same!
@@greylock5680 it was definitily one of the Rogue Squadron books.. i think the first one
Ok but is the Falcon allowed to have 2 Death Stars painted on it? Or no because it goes with the pilot not the ship?
Oh yeah, well Nien Nunb can take credit for a Death Star AND Starkiller Base!
This episode was such a joy to all of us who played the original Rogue Squadron games. The Imperial commander in charge of training here, he was voiced by the same guy who did the 2005 Battlefront 2 Imperial Officers. Another call back.
I wish they would had stuck more to Wedge's background history from the expanded universe.. his history about how and why becaming a pilot was quite tragic
5:00 They're playing Squadrons!
I like the figurative-flashback vibe for Sabine in this one, especially having to once again follow orders without question. But she's also paying her own escape forward by helping others to defect.
i dont know.. i dont see anyone using he boost and drifting constantly or running back to their ship when its attack turn so it kills enemies instantly .. i do see a TIE Bomber taking more damage than a corvette ..so it fits
Well..... the TIE platform is intended to be modular and interchangeable.... the core "ball" could be hotswapped between base TIE ln wingsets and Interceptor dagger wings. Think of it as the M4 of starfighters. The question would be whether the ships of the line have that coupling under active remote access or not. Certainly Training TIEs would have it.
I still love that they used the man who voiced the imperial announcer in the original Battlefront 2
It was so great to see Wedge and Derek "Hobbie" Klivian in this episode however I have to admit that I prefer Wedge's Legends origin story over this one. I liked that he wasn't the cliche Imp defector and that it wasn't the Empire that drove him directly to the Rebellion (would have loved to see Soontir Fel become part of the new Canon - they're connection story was so good in the old world. 😁)
Yeah, his Legends backstory is better in my opinion
20:40 I never understood why so many people thought that the Death Star exhaust port was such a stupid design flaw. _It's going to need an exhaust port._ Generally every fortified fortress has some sort of weakness. And if you ask me, a 2-meter wide hole (which is below an existing port) is not too much to ask for a space station that enormous. 🤷🏼♂️
The thing is, the Death Star had a LOT of exhaust ports, because of course it needs that many. And a lot of them were quite large, enough so to be a genuine threat and as such were heavily fortified. The one that the rebels used was a tiny auxiliary port, considered far to small to consider an issue. But you know, can't really account for space wizards. Especially since they aren't supposed to exist anymore.
@@dovahkat9635 it took precise knowledge and 3 attack runs to hit that.. and it was a Jedi using the force who actually hit it ... its not like if it was there wide open waiting for the first thing to fly near to explode.. never understood why people think it was such a huge overlook flaw.. they lost like 90% of the attack force trying to hit that thing... and it was also deemed totally safe against heavy ship attacks..like Dodonna said
I think people took more issue with how dumping just a couple of explosives into the main reactor could destroy the entire station. Thankfully, we now have "Rogue One" to explain why the main reactor was so unstable.
@@Compucles Possibly. Were I to ask every person who I'd heard (in person or otherwise) that ever had an issue with the Death Star flaw to then elaborate further, I suppose they might say something like that eventually. However, noting how _"…Dumping just a couple of explosives into the main reactor could destroy the entire station"_ hasn't been the reason *I've heard* over the past 40+ years. 🤷🏼♂️
*Edit:* Essentially there seems to be nuance to the answer that perhaps we're interpreting differently.
The best part is that the episode they survive together is called the Honorable Ones. Here he proves it.
Never in my entire life will I ever pin point a name onto a game as fast a Calvin did lol.
Dennis Lawson who plays Wedge in OT is Ewan Mcgregor's uncle apparently.
not apparently, he is. Ewan mentions it several times in the special features of the prequel trilogy.
@@2apocalypse-X i mean, Apparently means that you didn't know before, not that it could be. I didn't know, but i looked up Wedge and i found out. So for me, it's apparently.
I love that the Fulcrum logo looks like Ashoka’s facial markings. So cool!
Regarding the HOW of people defecting to the Rebellion - it probably depends on the when and where. For example, if I recall correctly, Luke's friend Biggs was part of a ship crew that actually launched a mutiny. Others might defect while on assigment or even while on leave (even Imperials have some time off now and then).
can’t believe Hera killed Sabine. What a traitor 🤨😔
The Hobbie's last name is Klivian, you can read that in the rogue squadron book collection
Dereck Klivian
Is that imperial instructor played by the original battlefront 2 imperial announcer
I’m pretty sure it is the same guy
Can’t wait for next week episode! The nostalgia!
Edit wait no that’s the following on my bad.
Fun fact: Instructor Goran's voice actor also voiced Cad Bane
Thanks, Eric! Thanks, Rick! Thanks, Calvin! Thanks, Aaron! 🌠
21:15 So what you're saying is that Vader is that kid in elementary school who says that he already has the Play Station 12?
I wonder how many TIE Fighter video game references are in this episode. I'm sure they're in there, but I didn't play it enough to spot them.
I just noticed that Skystrike Academy looks similar to the Colossus station.
His name is Derrek Klivian.
3:17 ... Here we go again
Fulcrum sounds a lot like Agent Kallus, HMMMMMM🤔
I loved it when Resistance was airing and we got our first look at the proper unsubmerged Colossus, immediately brought me to conclude it was the same class of vessel as Skystrike Academy here. Too bad that show had like a 10-15% good episode or story ratio. They could've done so much more with it.
10-15%? Thats like 9-14% higher than the actuall good ep ratio..
@@sparrowlt Touche haha. Nah though, there were a couple sprinkled into the two seasons. One that comes to mind was the proto-starkiller ep. Stuff like that where it builds on the ST era lore and the First Order centric stuff were good.
Then Kaz immediately ruins it.
Wrong! Most of the episodes were pretty good or at least added to the overall story when viewed in hindsight, especially in the 2nd season. It's not like the first seasons of "The Clone Wars" and "Rebels" were much better.
@@Compucles Wrong! There's a reason why no one acknowledges Resistance.
And just in case, I too did NOT enjoy most of the first like 3 seasons of TCW at least, aside from a few arcs. Rebels season 1 and part of 2 were iffy but much more tolerable. Resistance though? Almost every week I'd be like "why did I waste my time on this tonight?"
People might hate this eposide but I love it🥰😇
Callus is making a 180
A good soldier follows orders………
You guys going to react to Titans anytime soon ?
What's Antilles' character arc?
He's in the episode 'Warhead' plus 'Double Agent Droid' and the two parter season 3 finale 'Zero Hour', then hardly at all in season 4, @Awesome Matt .
And of course, he's in all three original films, as Luke's, then Lando's wingman/ally, and has a very brief appearance with Lando in The Rise of Skywalker.
@@chrissonofpear1384 that's not a character arc those are cameos
@@theawesomeman9821 he basically is a background character in Rebels, a sidekick and ally. You want his full arc, pre Disney, then read the X-Wing books. Or Resistance Reborn, I guess.
There he becomes step dad to Snap Wexley, quite different from the pre Disney books.
@@chrissonofpear1384 thanks

Is it possible to learn this power?
3 Tie Interceptors should in no way kill 4 A Wings...
One A Wing fighter with a decent pilot should wipe the floor with all 3 interceptors.
Jesus, what’s this channel called, “T-Shirts and Beards”?
Flashbacks of playing Tie Fighter intensify.....
The "That's impossible, even for a computer" guy was called Wedge Antilles in the Star Wars novelization, which is where that came from. It's clearly not Wedge in the movie.
I actually liked the version of that moment in the novel - when Luke tells him he'd been shooting womprats at home who weren't much bigger, Wedge just asks him if womprats shoot back.
